We're shown to room 11 but in the bathroom the ceiling fan cover was on the floor with wires hanging out , were given another room " best room "" they said , but toilet was dirty and hairs in bed !!!!! Reported this and was told someone would come up to the room , but after 20 minutes as no one arrived we checked out expressing our dissatisfaction they said they knew about the ceiling fan but thought the handy man had fixed it !!!!! I said surely they should have checked this as part of good customer service , a skill clearly lacking is this hotel with a careless attitude

Me & my family stayed here for New Year’s Eve (2023/24) 
We stayed in room 6 and our experience was awful, it reminded us of “Faulty Towers/Horror Movie” where the staff was concerned but our main problem was the room. 
On entering the room the smell was awful ( smelt like a musky old museum)
We had 3 single beds and the middle bed’s base was snapped so you were sleeping on a slant and all 3 mattresses felt like you were sleeping on a sack of potatoes. Don’t think the beds have been changed since the 70’s.
The ceiling was full of stains, dust and cobwebs (photos attached)
There are birds living in the air vent in bathroom(you can hear them scratching and tweeting) and the shower cubicle was full of debris (which we did not use).
The kettle and mugs weren’t fit for human consumption.
Don’t know what the cleaners are doing in this hotel but they’re certainly not cleaning the rooms. 

Our experience of this hotel was awful and unacceptable and will not be returning (I’ve sent hotel an email but had no response)
My advice to anyone thinking about booking here would be AVOID and look for somewhere else.

Very Disappointing Stay

Stopped at the sun loades of time , this time got upgrade to honeymoon suite or the secret room . It was a great room massive bed free standing bath in bedroom,  friendly staff , good northumbrian breakfast, good bar with sky for the newcastle match, will be back .

1 night break

Stayed here as part of a golf trip with friends. Great for watching the football (lots of TVs), staff friendly, bar food was very good, nice breakfast, rooms were nice. Would recommend and would stay again. 

Great stay 

This hotel is a great place to stay, the staff are friendly and gave good advice for the local golf course. The breakfast was fantastic. Would highly recommend. The room we stayed in was pleasant with a nice view

Great place to stay

We were married at this hotel years ago and decided to celebrate our anniversary in the hotel for a treat. Although it was expensive at £150 for the night we thought it would be worth it but that was not the case. I had already been told the restaurant would be closed when I had called to book a table a few days before our stay. Disappointing but not the end of the world because we were told that we would be able to eat in the bar. However, the first thing we were told (after we were asked to pay our balance) was the kitchen was closed so there would be no food in the bar.  Things went downhill from here. Although the room looks lovely, on closer inspection was grubby and icy cold. There were stains on the satin chairs and the floor was dirty. Luckily, the bed and bathroom looked clean, but we decided to spend as little time as possible in there. Breakfast was served tepid and tasteless in a cold dining room. I have emailed the hotel twice  to ask for an explanation but sadly they have not responded. I do it believe in posting negative reviews and would have liked to resolve this with the manager. However their indifference makes me feel others need to be warned before parting with their money.If you are thinking of booking a superior room, especially if it is for your wedding, please think again!

It was a lovely stopover in a quaint little village
The hotel was fantastic with good size single room with large ensuite shower room.
Food was excellent and the breakfast room was very impressive.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Facilities were excellent
Even got checked in early

I stayed in late Oct 2022 whilst visiting the area.  This was an an excellent accommodation option at a reasonable price, with the added bonus of the pub on site.  The staff were friendly and the whole experience was enjoyable.

A very nice hotel, friendly staff

Nice hotel with nice staff. Breakfast could do with being on a little longer rathe than finishing at 9am mid week  as bring on holiday would rather like to have a little bit longer lie in. Good bar with good selection of drinks and food. Good atmosphere. Only slight negative on second night I had steak pot pie and meat was bit chewy. Had a family Room which was  spacious with nice views.. Couple little things could be improved with decor but otherwise would stay again

Couple of nights away

We booked a two night stay last minute, cheaper if you book direct with hotel. We know Warkworth quite well so the location was perfect and you couldn’t be closer to the Castle if you tried. Very helpful staff on arrival and room was lovely and well presented, shower was hot and no problems with plumbing! We had our dog with us and I have never stayed in a more dog friendly hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and good local produce and staff very attentive and helpful. Bar which is situated next door was lovely for a nightcap. Lots of lovely walks on your doorstep including the beach about 20mins away and Amble 5 mins drive. Would happily stay again and reasonably priced for the location.
