The room thermostat didn't switch on the room heater.
I had difficulty getting my meals booked up. The pub was busy which meant that I had to eat later than I would have liked. I couldn't book the breakfast but managed to sort this out with the pub.

The Pub/restaurant attached to premier inn looked on the photos to be really nice,
There was warning on  the website to book a table but there was no warning that the bar closed at 9.45pm Whe we asked why so early we were told that was a normal closing time,The menu looked good but the food was average. The steak pie meat was tough,

Easy to find as just a short drive from the motorway junction. Easy to park. Friendly staff. Quiet comfortable room. Bonus being able to walk 30 metres from reception to have a lovely meal at the The Swan pub. Would definitely stay here again.

Overnight stay on a trip to Newton-le-willows

We arrived, needed food restaurant not busy 4 staff serving Jo one served us despite seating us, im celiac and my meal got bought out non celiac an the server forgot this again when asking us if we wanted anything else.

The room was terrible, rusty heaters that pinged an popped, we switched out the light an that was them well an truely out as the switches all sparked for the lights an sockets, went down asked about a change we were told the football was on as a answer to what can you do. Made the staff aware on checking out an didn’t see if getting wrote in a maintenance book or anything. The door closer for the door on the outside falls right out the door. So to say the least we won’t be returning.

Stayed here for a family visit/funeral.
Have used premier inns on many occasions, and this was by far the poorest in the group we’ve visited,
It desperately needs an urgent refurb, with fixtures and fittings hanging off, and the housekeeping is poor, very dusty.
The attached Brewers Fayre restaurant was much the same, and I would suggest eating elsewhere.

In need of refurbishment/upgrade I

The Premier Inn was as expected in terms of the usual standard one would expect. Clean room, good polite staff.
I stayed in one of their accessible rooms, which for a disabled person was a long way from the door. It's actually the furthest room from all fire exits. The bathroom has loads of handles just not in the right place. Had noway of climbing into the bath for a shower. ( been better designed in other Premier Inns.) But my biggest problem was the alliance they have made with the Swan Inn next door to provide breakfast.  Off course you might think you could get an evening meal as well.  But No.
Got to book in advance ( not told one the Premier web site when booking your room ) then couldn't book. The Swan's web wasn't working.  Told by Premier staff you should be able to walk in?  Got meet with rude staff at the Swan. "We don't do walk-in". Explained that couldn't book, just driven over 4 hours and want something to eat. We are staying next door at the Premier Inn. The reply. "We don't deal with that sort, you need to leave".  Wait, I have to book breakfast with you don't I ? " oh very well".  
The staff at Premier Inn helped sort a take out that night. We then got a message at 11.30pm that the Swan had cancelled breakfast for the morning. 
I couldn't get breakfast for the second morning either.
Premier Inn need to look at these alliances for your food support. The Swan Inn was terrible. The worst customer service ever.

Not as expected

brilliant 3 day.visit to see family in area always clean, staff brilliant,helpfull.ate at the swan inn next door great staff,food&service.our 3rd visit in the lastfew years will definitly stay again good location

Rooms are clean but not as modern as some of the other hotels in this brand. As a solo traveler there were only 2 towels in the bathroom, some PI leave 3 towels for solo travels which is much better, this might be something to consider. 

As a solo traveler I was disappointed that your lone travel policy wasn’t followed and my room number was read out load 

Hotel isn’t far from a church so you can hear church bells. 

Went pub next door for evening meal and the food was lovely. This is where I had breakfast the next day, the toaster took ages to work and was faulty, the staff said they knew about this and had asked for a new one. Hot food isn’t buffet and is made to order which was a nice change.

Solo one night stop over

Hotel is a good location.  It is a bit old, still with proper keys for the rooms and my room smelled a bit musty as there must be a long term damp issue in the bathroom.  That said the room was clean and the Swan pub had great food and beer, probably the best meal I've had in a pub in years, and reasonably priced.

Greta location and great food

Stayed 2 nights in premier Inn. Hotel basic pleasant welcoming but room smelled musty. Swan bar was excellent for food, drink and service. Thanks especially to Lucy for great service on Friday night. Great breakfast as well
