I stayed on a Saturday in late April and the cost was £55. 
The shower required me to hand hold the  shower head due to wrong size wall bracket. Also very weak water pressure.
No heating so quite cold
Breakfast pack provided was inadequate compared to full breakfast (see photo).
Noise very loud until 11pm Saturday night from DJ in pub beneath.
I would not stay again.

cheap but not cheerful

Everyone we spoke to was lovely who worked here. However, they really do need a lot of support on the service.
The first person we saw couldn’t locate any menus… so we waited at our garden table and in the end I had to send my partner in to give another nudge as time was ticking and we had a hungry toddler. In the end I had to feed him our own bits.
Food took a while for such an empty pub.
We ordered two burgers but my partners just came as chips with cheese and bacon… the guy explained that the chef had misunderstood his notes and hadn’t done the cheese and bacon burger so that would be coming but only just being started now…that seemed incredibly nuts!
Then it took 45 mins for the delayed burger to come… and then be the wrong burger - they brought out a chicken burger not a beef burger! We laughed about it and got a refund on one of the meals and then we left, never to return. 
Shame because everyone seemed very nice!

Lovely people but awful service

Got there quite late in the week after visiting brooklands, nice people but they had taken out the duke box and staff /customers were putting  on music via the phone , which means we were subjected to 2 hrs rap music, bring back duke box or have silence Pleeeeeeeeease

Stayed here for work , room ok no breakfast only porridge in room ! No breakfast . Food menu very basic no choice only bog standard pub food not worth having although staff very friendly not very expensive so if you just want a bed for the night it probably just ticks the box .

Ave stopover

Stayed at the blue anchor to be close to Cobham. Staff were very friendly. Room was clean and tidy with ample tea and coffee. Juice and porridge laid out for breakfasts. Were invited to join in the pub quiz and had an enjoyable evening - even coming second! 

Overnight 

We came here for lunch, it was ok, but the jacket potato was a bit hard my friends salad looked a lot nicer than what myself and another one of my friends ordered. 
I would like to come back here in the evening or to one of their events that i saw advertised.

Lunch

Basic, clean, friendly locals. And a lovely village to visit Bit of a gem to be honest, We had a walk through the  village seeking  a good place to eat .. a few options available, From your k bab to Tapas type restaurant. We went for Indian, I have to say in my 56th year of age I've eaten Indian all over, This was awesome..Premier League.  Pity they cant deliver to Mid CHESHIRE.  

Quick overnight stay 

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Anchor twice during May. 5 nights in total.
We used it as a base for trips around the country.
It’s in a great location, close to London, about 30 minutes by train, as well as the towns/villages of Surrey.
Matt (owner) and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a great time meeting some of the locals.
Rooms were bright, clean and very well priced. A basic breakfast kit is supplied.
The traditional English pub food, generous portions, was very good as well.

Value For Money

a visit to the Brookland museum. and again me & my daughter stay at the blue.. great place. we will be back thanks blue. only problem we never stay long enough.and a special mention to all the staff that make it what it is... thank you all. xx

great stay

I booked this pub accommodation for 1 night , there was me and my girlfriend in one room and her 21year old son in another room , we were visiting the Brooklands Museum , the following day , as a birthday treat for her son , we arrived early Saturday afternoon , we had problems initially  with mine and girlfriends room been two singles , when we asked for double bed , but we couldn’t swap to another room , fully booked apparently , but nevertheless  we excepted the situation and carried on , later that Saturday evening we went back to our rooms in the pub after going out for a bite to eat ,  it was around 9;30 pm , the pub was quite busy with music playing , it was quite loud to be honest , I stayed awake and counted down the hours until closing time , but that closing time got later and later , to the point I phoned the pub up to ask what time there closing and to tell how cheesed off I was and wanting to go sleep , the guy on the phone could tell I wasn’t happy , it was about 1:30 in the morning at this point , shortly afterwards the music stopped playing to my relief , but it didn’t end there , noise from drinkers carried on with shouting and banging  until 3:30 in the morning , so me and my girlfriend and her son in another room got little sleep that night , I was totally appalled and regretted booking the place , I was aware it was going to be noisy with it being a pub , but didn’t expect to be kept awake until 3:30 in the morning ,  

So iff you like being kept awake by drunken idiots , and boom boom boom music playing until the early hours , then crack on , but not my cuppa tea,  and to my despare later on that morning when I got up , I had problem with the shower not warming up , and I tried the shower in the other room and had same problem , which turns out they work one minute and then don’t , by then I think I’d just had enough and couldn’t wait to just leave ,  possibly the worst place I’ve stayed at , not meaning to be nasty but can’t help our experience ,  we never tried the food so can’t comment ,  we handed the keys in that morning before 10am but nobody was around except a cook , and I wanted to vent my anger , but nobody else there until 11am , anyway we left , never to return , but I did receive a call back from the manager an hour later as he had heard of our disappointment , which was epreciated , but the damage had been done so no apology could make right what a rubbish nights stay we had had
