We booked 2 months ago to get in early after the lockdown is lifted. It was one of the last locations with a sea view. They took our booking, accepted. Today we got a phone call to say they are closing the hotel as it isn’t habitable and are cancelling our holiday.

For the week we were coming, the entire town is booked up, there are no more locations with a sea view available.

It seems strange for a hotel to close for renovation during the high season after covid, when most hotels are making up for what they have lost - especially when the reviews are saying it is spotless.

Do not book here the new owners have no credibility or customer service skills you may get your holiday cancelled and get landed in it!

Furious - they cancelled our holiday.

Located across road from 'Funpark' --- more like 'Noise Nightmare'. And when they closed at 10 or 11pm  the drunks from local bars took over. Room small and bathroom more like a broom closet. Owner rude and arrogant. Overpriced - reasonable would be about uk40.00
Only plus were the staff in breakfast - they were good

This hotel is ok , friendly and helpful staff, but the hotel itself feels very dated. Breakfast not so good, cheap sausages, poor crockery and cutlery. Can’t fault the friendliness of the staff, just felt that at £130.00 a night it was very over priced for what we got (especially as we had stayed the night before in Bournemouth for £80 for a far superior hotel) 

Great location 

We stayed for two nights late October. 
THE GOOD
We had a room on the second floor over looking the sea. The room was a good size, very clean, large bed, plenty of storage and two chairs in the bay window. TV and kettle with tea and coffee supplies. Nice size hot shower.
Breakfast was excellent, choice of cereal, fruit, and a full English, cooked to perfection. Service was very good, nothing was any trouble. 
Location is great, shops and bars within minutes walk, yes parking is a problem, however you will find a place eventually. Deposits needed for the parking permit and key is understandable, (£20) but you do get it back!!!!
Hotel, very clean throughout. 

THE BAD
The heating needs to be sorted out. We went back to our room at 4.00pm and it was cold. When enquired was told that the heating comes on at 5.00pm and goes off at 8.00pm. However by 6.00pm no heating in our room, and enquired but no one in the hotel knew how to check it or alter it!!!! By 6.45pm they managed to get heat into our room, but by then it was too late, we were going out at 7.15pm and it was very uncomfortable for those few cold hours, sat in our room with coats on. 

To make things worse by the time we came back at 11.30pm the room was cold again as the heating had gone off at 8.00pm.
This needs sorting out immediately. 

OVERALL
It’s a good hotel, very good service (apart from the heating) especially at breakfast, the two young girls serving provided very good hosting. If you are staying when its cold, make sure the heating is working in your room. The location is perfect. Would I stay here again, definitely, but get the heating sorted. 

I have noticed that the owners do not respond to any comments on here good or bad, so it does make me wonder if they view these and if they do, just ignore them all? 

The Good, Bad but no Ugly.

Another  great stay. We have stayed here a few times before and everyone is the same . It's clean comfortable and the breakfast is more than you could want. Cereal yoghurt fruit along with full English eggs anyway and as much toast tea and coffee that you want. We had a room with a good sea view and paid the little extra for a booked parking space. We have booked already for next year but you are our Weymouth go to hotel. This is a topical seaside holiday hotel. 

So friendly

My husband and I spent a lovely 3 days at the Bournville last weekend. We had a lovely room with great views of the beach. The room was well equipped, comfortable and clean. There was a good choice of breakfast and portions were generous.  We are looking forward to returning in the near future.

Great hotel in a superb location

Spent 3 great nights at the Bourneville Hotel. We booked a room with a 4 poster bed which is one of the most comfortable beds that we have slept in with a Panoramic view over the beach. The host, Carolina and staff are extremely friendly, courteous and serve a fantastic, full English breakfast with a smile.Nothing is too much trouble. We look forward to our next visit in 2020. Thank you so much!

A Wonderful Place to Stay

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel,which is perfectly situated for the beach as well as the town.Our room was ideal for us,not overly spacious but very comfortable with shower and wc.Facilities for tea and coffee are supplied and a small tv rounds up the perfect room.

A very tasty traditional breakfast was served in comfortable dining room.Also on offer were cereals yoghurts and fruit.If you didn't see what you fancied you only had to ask.The staff were so friendly,polite,efficient and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble and we felt extremely welcome.

All in all we had the perfect holiday thanks to our stay at this fantastic hotel.We were well looked after and were very sorry to have leave.Thank you very much everyone.

Amazing hotel

Excellent stay. Tremendous owners and staff. On the seafront with fantastic view from bedroom window. Short walk to beach. Lovely clean room with very comfortable bed. Great substantial breakfast, what more do you need

Great Hotel

Just had a brilliant 4 night break here and I want to compliment Michael and Carolina so lovely, friendly and helpful and the two young servers at breakfast - truly make you feel welcome and happy to bring extra tea/toast etc  (breakfast was superb value and very tasty).  Location is perfect opposite beach and a lovely short walk down St Alban street to the town.  We stayed in Room 4 with a four poster bed and a beautiful sea view with armchairs to sit in comfort watching the beach scene. A totally relaxing break - thank you to all.  We will stay there again for sure in a sea view room.  Parking made easy thanks to Michaels help and advice when booking our room.
