Unfortunately the hotel was disappointing. The rooms were far too hot with no working air con and windows could not be opened. The air vent was noisy all night, bed was lumpy and very uncomfortable. Room was dusty with cobwebs on walls and dust on skirting boards. Bathroom door lock didn't work. Extra charge for parking. However, The breakfast was great, fresh and lots of choice and regularly being topped up. Would not stay in the hotel again or recommend.

Bad hotel but great breakfast.

Great hotel. Friendly staff that were very attentive. Very Clean and inviting. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options. Free WiFi available to you if you want it. Perfect location for walking around Wrexham. We stayed there to see a Wrexham match, less than a 5 minute walk.

Great place to stay

I rang and asked if we could do early check in, the woman on the phone said yes come at 1… so we parked our car and went to walk through an open door and some miserable woman shouted to us “this is a fire door” and said we couldn’t walk through. I walked around to the entrance and she said what can I do for you. I said we’ve been told to come at 1 for early check in, she said absolutely no chance so I tried to explain we’d be told we could and she said no 3pm onwards. So we went out, went to the football game and arrived at the hotel about 10 mins after full time. The queue was horrific. It took around an hour to check in. Me and my friend went to the “bar” to get us all a drink and it was literally a man stood next to a fridge, that took a while to get served and by this point we was all aggy because we was thirsty. Eventually got drinks and got in our rooms, went out for the evening, I got back and no usb sockets worked? I went downstairs and said our sockets don’t work, he said there’s nothing I can do about it tonight I said well can you move us rooms he said no we’re fully booked… so that was that. He did offer me a plug which didn’t work, so we charged our phones in car for as long as we could without draining battery. We paid for breakfast on booking, went down at 8.30am ish and the staff memeber said we’re fully booked for breakfast, I said we’ve already paid? He said you’re looking about an hour wait?! so I asked to have a refund and we’ll go elsewhere, the member of staff said yes although it’ll be in your bank in a few days. Overall very disappointed. You could tell the staff didn’t want to be there and with the chaos of checking in and long waits to be served/eat breakfast, we would not stay again. We’ve stayed in many premier inns before and this has to be the worst stay we’ve ever had. 

I wouldn’t stay again

We’ve just left after a great 2 night stay here.  Everything was great especially the majority of staff, who were extremely helpful, efficient and friendly.  It was a very busy football and Easter weekend but we felt the staff worked  hard to please the customers.  The male manager was particularly helpful with placing the 6 of us together and also assisting us very patiently when one of the party had misplaced something.  We ate there both nights and food was very good.  All in all great value for money.  It’s always the staff that makes the difference to these types of stays.  Well done Team Wrexham ❤️

Staff were Superb

We booked the Premier Inn for my family to stay after a game at the Wrexham FC. The hotel is very convenient being just across the road.

Good points first - the room was good and comfortable, even considering it was “Room 1”, on the ground floor close to reception and car park. There was no issues with noise, despite the hotel being very busy.

Now the not so good. Firstly the car parking was chargable, managed by a private company. This can often be the case  - but usually when there’s no space for the hotel to have their own car park. In this case, the hotel and car park were built together. Here, Premier Inn could have chosen to allow free parking for guests but instead chose to “hire” their car park out to a private parking company to make some money it seems. It was between £8-£9 for 24 hours. Which whilst not extortionate is very disappointing when this could have been free as it is the hotels car park, not a council or other public car park. Also it is not free for Blue Badge holders either (which I am).

The next issue was the bizarre bar process. I’ve never seen a system like this before, and neither had many other guests who were also commenting on it. (Though I’ve obviously not been to every premier inn or other hotel in the country, so I’m sure someone will have seen one like this elsewhere). There was no normal “bar” with staff standing behind it to serve. There were just fridges in a wall with staff standing near them - the idea being you approach a staff member and ask for a drink. But it was very far from clear, and nobody knew where to queue, who was first etc. Especially with the bar area full and busy, so some customers were just standing nearby as they didn’t have seats. It was very odd and confusing.

Another issue was lack of food during the day. We were planning to grab a small lunch there before the football game, but on arriving there was a sign saying there was no food during the day. It seemed like this might be a common occurrence as the staff said “we don’t do food in the day”. This seems very poor to me. We’ve always been able to grab a snack or meal in a Premier Inn during the daytime before. I don’t know if it was a staffing issue or just because it was getting busy due to the football.

The free wifi was also very poor. You don’t expect super fast wifi for free when they also sell an “Ultimate” wifi option. But it was often not even possible to connect to it, and were often kicked off it. 

Good room, but a few things not so good

I have been staying at this hotel twice a week since the beginning of January, the hotel is lovely and clean, breakfast is ok but the evening meal isn’t the best hardly anything vegetarian on the menu and half the time it’s out of stock 🤦🏽‍♂️. The beds are very comfortable and I always have a good nights sleep. 
The best thing about the hotel is some of the staff Leah being one always smiling and helpful. By far the best staff member is David from day one of my stay he has always been polite, helpful and very welcoming.

Good stay and great staff

a well placed hotel for the local amenities such as wrexham football ground and shopping, it was mostly up to premier in  standards, clean rooms that were comfortable if a little bit warm, the bed was comfortable and the room contained everything we needed.

Great location for a show at William Aston Hall.  Best nights sleep in a long time.  Breakfast was lush, perfrct fried eggs, mushrooms, sausage and bacon, thanks to Gloria our chef today and front of house Jamie for looking after us at our table. Great hotel for convenience when in town.

Stopped here 5 nights it’s close to Wrexham General station only 15min to Chester. Chech in desk was deserted upon arrival (we were a bit early) but unlike most Premier Inns it doesn’t have a Costa. When we got our room was great but by day 3 of our 5 night stay we were running out of toilet tissue and Shower Gel would be good if they told housekeeping to fill them up. Also there was just one hanger in the room. There was never anyone at reception to ask for this to be rectified. 
The rooms are great no room noise air con basic ideal for short stay.
We caught trains to Liverpool Chester Shrewsbury and Bangor for the day. Great base!

The lady on reception upon arrival was not the friendliest of people.
The bed was comfortable,the room was noisy ( noise was from outside)  and the bathroom was not the cleanest I've ever seen... dirty grout on tiles near shower.

The breakfast, although looked fantastic, was barely warm and the plates were cold.
The breakfast table was dirty and sticky, even though it had been cleaned.
The Car parking is not free.
It's not the worst place I've stayed, but I'm sorry say , it's probably the worst Premier Inn I've stayed at...
