If I could I’d give it a zero..  only one channel worked on TV.  Room reeked of cigarettes.  And not just “oops... sorry, someone must have smoked in there last night”.  This was heavy, old smell.  The bedspread had not been washed anytime recently, as it smelled heavy of smoke.  Floor was tiled, the whole floor (not just in bathroom).  No rugs.  Very, very cold.  Even with socks on.  Bring slippers.  The whole room needs to be gutted and totally redone! (Floor grungy looking, drop ceiling stained and looked like it would drop any time soon, chipped paint all over). The only thing is,  it’s cheap.  So if that is what you are looking for, this is the place!

Don’t bother

The general appearance was run down. The front door stays locked and you have to ring a bell to get staff, even at 3:00 pm in the afternoon. Certainly doesn't give a warm, fuzzy feeling on arrival. Staff at desk looked confused when I asked to check in, even though I had reserved the room a month or so ahead of time. Room had a mildew smell when we walked inside. Window left open and smell cleared out. General housekeeping was in need of a redo. Surfaces like door and walls were obviously dirty. Hole in bathroom wall was just creepy. I did not have great expectations, considering the price, but the room was even below those low standards.  Beds were ok, but had no blanket besides the 1980's fitted comforter. Those were removed and we used throws brought from home. 2 flat pillows on each bed. Towels were clean, but rough and small. Two towels and washrags provided, even though room would sleep 4. We stayed 2 nights and were not offered trash to be taken out or fresh/extra towels. Doors have simple key lock like on an interior door and the chain was not anchored and could have very easily been forced open. The large window next to the door was almost as tall as the door and could have easily been used to gain entry if someone wanted to get inside. Overall not someplace I would want to stay ago, but since there is little choice in town, we will probably be back next year.

Close to hunting, but needs new housekeeper

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was very pleasant. Everything was perfect, rooms were clean, towels and linen were fresh, and clean carpet. Front-desk clerk was welcoming and very helpful.
I have stayed at many hotels but I have to sat that this hotel offer the best internet service. Their WiFi was high speed and it only takes a minute to download. I would definitely recommend to anyone travelling through Antlers, OK.

Best Hotel in Town

First of all we booked 3 NonSmoking rooms over a month ahead. When we arrived we had 2 rooms downstairs and one upstairs!  When we opened the door to one of the ones downstairs we just about fell over with smoke!  I just had a knee replacement but I HAD to take the upstairs room...none other left he said although the parking lot was not full or even half full all night!  The upstairs room looked as if had not been vacuumed. The bathroom tub was horrible. There was a crack between the front door you could see through letting cold air in.   The pillows looked as if they had been slept on and the only bedding was a sheet and the horrible bedspread. Stay somewhere else!

Go somewhere else!

I've stayed here several times and every time it has been very clean. The staff gave superb customer service. The rooms were clean. The rates are reasonable. Staff was so friendly. Not everything is perfect, but everything you need is.I would give this a high recommendation. I will return next time I'm in Ok. 

Nice

We have stayed a number of times when in town.  The motel was just a place to sleep and really I didn't expect much at all.  The last visit to town was my last to stay at Sportsman.   The staff is always very nice but there is absolutely no way I will pay to stay in less than sanitary conditions ever again.   

In my last few visits we have tolerated rooms with toilets that leaked at the base, showers/ tubs that were less than sanitary looking and even sheets that were not clean on the bed.  I chose not to ask what happened in the room with previous tenants that required that much sheetrock work to be done, it was obvious because the large patches are not painted.   This past visit though was to a room that had much nicer carpet and a flat screen TV..amenities not found in my other visits...and just when I thought that things were looking up...the circus started with a parade of roaches coming under the door.   

I was disgusting.   To watch the number of bugs scatter was fascinating and terrifying all at the same time, every time the lights came on.  My luggage rode home on the trailer with my ATVs and unpacked in my garage to make sure that I didn't have any stowaways. Really, really gross.

I am done with the Sportsman and not coming back.   If I wanted to sleep with bugs...well I would have just slept outside.

To take a shower at the Sportsman is like an episode of "Naked and Afraid" on Discorvey.

We booked this room for a 4 night stay. We did not realize that we had a roach problem until the day before our departure. We tried to get refunded for the final night because we just were not going to stay any longer and could only get part of our payment back. The manager and staff were not helpful at all with our issue. This was the worst motel experience ever. I would recommend gasoline and a match to this roach motel but the neighbors might get infested. So, good luck everybody who attempts to stay here.
