Greer Peaks Lodge

Nice area for hiking, fishing and exploring.  Went for a 4-day get away.  We reserved the Mountain King room and enjoyed the views and location of room away from other guest rooms.  The resort was sold in 2021 to new owners and now is known as Edelweiss Resort & Restaurant.  The breakfast included is O.K., but no staff was available while it was open.  The restaurant food was O.K., but only staff was waitress and cook, so waited 45 minutes for meal.  It appears there is a lack of management, as this could become a nice destination.  Staff did not know information for the area with regards to exploring the area.  Website mentions exercise room.  It is located in basement and not appealing. No staff to check-out, just leave room key in basket at front desk.  It's an older facility, maintained adequately, but will need upgrades in near future to co-exist with other lodging facilities in the area.

Mixed feelings

Our room had 2 huge windows with views of the surrounding area - gorgeous! Variety of breakfast foods & beverages available reach morning near the lobby. On site Edelweiss Restaurant has amazing German and Hungarian style food (so good and huge portions). Pet friendly - our Frenchie enjoyed all the new smells while exploring the grounds. We noticed the  property seems to have been rebranded as Edelweiss Resort & Restaurant.

Beautiful and welcoming charm in the White Mountains

Our stay at Greer Peaks Lodge was simply awesome. The location, view, amenities, staff and service was very good. Our room was facing towards the forest and view was really eye pleasing. The lodge is at the end of Main st. The view of the mountains from the hotel's deck is too good. The lodge provides

The lodge provide private cabins as well 1 bedroom suite and 2 bedroom suite.

This is very nice place to stay for family and friends.

The downside of this lodge is: it does not have restaurant as of now but new owner is planning to have it ready by Fall 2021.

The Greer location has 2 restaurant
- One for Breakfast and Lunch
- One for Dinner only.

It is very hard to get table in both restaurant and have to wait for long time.

We preferred to go to close by Edgar city which is 30 min drive from Lodge. This city has best pizza place name as Goobs Pizza.

There are lots of hiking/trails and other adventurous things to do around Greer AZ.

Adventurous Greer

My Wife,2 year old Son and I visited in the winter. We had a great time, room was nice, hosts were very nice and helpful and the breakfast was great, no yogurt and granola bar here, full breakfast and good! Definitely a place I would recommend and we will be back for sure.

Great Place

We spent 3 nights/4 days at this inviting property - relaxed and explored the surrounding towns and beautiful, natural setting.  Diana and Mike were delightful lodge hosts, included breakfasts were hearty and delicious! Great place to "get away from it all"!

Charming, rustic getaway

Our second time here at this family run lodge. Homemade breakfast, serene setting, super friendly staff. A bit shocked how much is closed in Greer due to the Covid situation. But you can drive to nearby towns for alternatives when looking for places to eat. Wonderful time spent here to reenergize and take a mental break from this crazy year. 

Wonderful place to reenergize

We love Greer Peaks Lodge!  The location is about 25 minutes past Sunrise Ski Resort, so you're going in the opposite direction of traffic to and from skiing!  The Lodge is at the end of Greer and is located on top of a hill, so there are great views!  My 15 year old sone and I spent 3 nights and loved it.  Breakfast is included daily and it is a FEAST!  Really good food and lots of choices, so we were stuffed every morning.  The rooms are spacious and each has a microwave and fridge. The suites have fireplaces and are quite charming.  My son took advantage of the hot tub and fitness center and we also watched the free DVD's.  The managers are friendly and accommodating without being intrusive.  They suggested restaurants for us that we really liked.  This would be a great place for a wedding, family reunion or group.  We plan to go back next year, but wish is was next month.  This is my "go to" choice for lodging in the White Mountains.  (We've also been in the summer and it's beautiful...and cool!)

Bests Kept Secret In Greer!

This last weekend we spent time at the Greer Peaks. We had some of the best food and entertainment. Ryan and his crew cooked some fantastic food and made it a very comfortable weekend. We would highly recommend this resort to everyone.

Fun Weekend

This lodge should have the word “family” in the description to better inform guests that there are several young children who live on site and wake up at 6am (or before) every day (we saw another review on yelp mention the same thing, so this is apparently a common occurrence). The room above us must have been their play room or something similar because from 6am - 10am daily, there were loud stomping, crying, shrill screaming, running up and down the halls and just meltdowns in general. Could be heard from anywhere in the lodge. Common for young kids, but not something we were expecting for nearly $200 a night. The room was just ok. Bed was comfortable. However, there is no thermostat in the room so we had no control over the temperature. Very warm at night. We had someone walk into our room on checkout morning before we were ready - despite the “do not disturb” sign. That was odd, he didn’t even knock. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back to this lodge in Greer when we return.

Sleepless in Greer... 

We arrived the day after Labor Day and the summer crowds were gone, in fact we were the only guests at the lodge during our entire stay (we left before the weekend). We were still provided a lovely hot breakfast buffet that changed up a little each day: Pancakes and scrambled eggs, cold cereal coffee and milk available daily;  bacon two days, sausage on another,  daily bread varied English muffins, chocolate muffins, bagels, yogurt, juice or fruit.  This is casual paper plates etc, but the food was nice and welcome. A lovely main room with fireplace, television, checker/chessboard and comfy seating, also adjacent game room for cards or board games plus a small bar available. Games, books and puzzles may be borrowed for in-room use too. Nice multilevel decks with hot tub and patio tables. Great place to drink morning coffee, read or watch the stars at night. The basement game room was like a vintage rumpus room at Grandma's, ping pong, a pool table and the old living room set that had seen better days, but so had my pool skills, two arcade-style video games and a video game system. Old fashioned make your own fun. The quiet and views were absolutely amazing. The lodge was a short walk to various hiking trails along the Little Colorado River (a creek to anyone but a westerner) or into town. We enjoyed our stay immensely and are busy planning a return visit.
