If it weren't for the price of the hotel, I would have rated it a 2 or 3-star, but it is nearly unheard of to get hotel rooms this cheap anywhere in the States, so for that, I am willing to overlook the downsides for the savings (though that doesn't mean I'm not going to mention them).

The biggest issue was that it was 113 degrees outside the day we arrived and when we got to our room around 830pm, we discovered the AC had been turned off all day!  I requested a fan from the front desk, as it would be hours before the room cooled down to a level comfortable enough to sleep in.  They have NO FANS for guests to use.  They also confirmed that it is their standard practice to leave AC off.  So...plan your stay to where you can check in to turn on the AC in your room & then head out to dinner or something else for a few hours to give it time to be tolerable.

The bathroom is tiny and the towels have seen better days, but again...the price...you truly get what you pay for.  So,  if you are on a budget and just need a place to crash for the night, this will do.

Clean hotel, classic route 66, great price, we love it!!! We were very well received. Congratulations! Thematic, it was worth it! I recommend it for sure! Outlet nearby but not worth it. Very expensive. Perfect motel.

It's wonderful!

Location: Located on the famous historic route 66 in Barstow, we opted to stay at this place as a stop over before heading to Los Angeles on our way from the Grand Canyon. 

The highlight of the this place is the old vintage cars parked in the front yard. Though they are rusting, you cant help admiring them.

Room: Our room was basic with 2 single beds, air conditioner, microwave, refrigerator, couple of chairs and a small round coffee table at the corner with TV for entertainment.

Bathroom: Maintained neat and clean with a bath tub.

Free car parking is available in front of the room as its a mezzanine floor only. So, carrying baggage inside rooms is made easy.
 
Overall, pretty reasonable tariff and okayish place to stay for the night.

Ok stay in Barstow

We used this is as a one night layover on our way to Las Vegas.
It is not 5 star and if you are expecting something posh with restaurants etc then it is far from it.  That being said i rated it a 5 star because if you just want something that is not too costly, with a comfortable bed, clean and friendly you will not be disappointed.   
I would generally rate this as a 4 star review as it ticked all the boxes from what i needed and the people were friendly enough, but my extra star is for the quirky old cars in the car park which made us feel like we were transported back into 1960s America.  I personally loved it and will be back to stay again

Easy access to your room. The bed was clean and comfortable. I guess that's where it ends. There were tons of flies in the room. Stains on the carpet. The soap was still there from the previous guests. They have a TV but you cannot sit on the bed to watch?!?!

Last Resort in Barstow

I wouldn't book my worst enemy into this place.  It is a felony waiting to happen. There is no desk, a clerk or any kind of staff that I could see.  When you turn on the lights in the room, the roaches are scattering.  I got there at 11pm and after seeing the room, I left and drove to LA.  I was given a refund by the booking company. 

No tel motel.

I am not surprised that for the price, we wouldn't find the room in best shape. After going out and buying bed sheets and cleaning products, what shocked me the most is finding a broken crack pipe under the bed. I brought my children with me, thank God I cleaned before they even walked in. Regardless my horrible experience, the room included a nightstand, TV with cable, microwave, mini fridge, and dining table. The bathroom was in bad shape as you can tell previous visitors left cigarette burns everywhere. No shampoo or soap was provided. We did not use any air conditioning as it was cold, but none the less it was there.

Dirty, Grimy and Low

The description I can make does not convey the fear of being there for only 30 minutes. we reserve when we arrive at our sight a drug addict, wines such as people selling drugs, thugs, rooms, smelly cigarettes and stains of blood. Finally we went to sleep there, lost the money.

Right Route 66 feeling. We spent a night at the Route 66 Motel. The reception was very friendly, the owner was extremely helpful. We got a lot of good tips. The rooms are perfectly decorated, with a round bed, refrigerator, air conditioning, microwave, shower, toilet, TV, table and chair. There was also free wireless. The outside of the motel is unique! It's definitely worth a visit!

Between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, good quality/price ratio, very clean rooms, Wi-Fi ok, quiet place before the madness of Las Vegas, ideal for an in-depth tour of tanger outlet, many snacks nearby
