The room look like  murder had taken place there. Blood in the sink and on door frame.  Bathroom fan was removed and a plastic bag in its place.  TV worked,  bed had stains on it. The shower plumbing was obviously done by a amateur,  pipes exposed.  Health Department needs to a inspection. 

Unhappy 

On arrival to the Bastrop Inn, It was the sign that caught my attention, it just reminded me of a horror flick, but looks can be deceiving, the man behind the counter was friendly and polite, I thought “maybe this place won’t be that bad” but we entered our room, hit by a vile musty smell, I had a bad feeling, on inspection of the bathroom, the bathtub had been painted over, a poor attempt at covering whatever was underneath! Gross!! 
The bed my wife and I slept in was clean and somewhat comfortable, a saving grace! But on the floor were lots of bugs crawling around! Beetles of some sort! Just very unclean! Do not stay here, even for a quick stay, not worth it!

Hmmmm bad!! 

As a solo female traveller, I felt safe. Front desk personnel very friendly. Room was large and bed comfy. Relatively clean, however, bedding was stained and towels were rough...think they need some fabric softener. Hardwood floors were a nice touch because I think most hotel carpeting is gross. Toilet was wobbly but water pressure in the shower was wonderful. I didn't worry about them not serving breakfast because Denny's is right across the street. Would I stay again? Probably.

No frills

Worst place I have ever stayed in my life, the guy who was at front desk asked me if I have contacts for young girls or not and he was just terrible. Room has mold in room, there is no fire safety equipment's nothing at all, should need to complain to health department and city.
Even not safe for Kids. Didn't feel like to give this hotel a 1 star but no choice.

Worst and shameless staff

Small family owned. 
Rooms were clean. Remodeled with new hardwood floors and new beds. 
About $35 over priced. And this is why:
No breakfast. 
No ice in ice machine.
No alarm clock.
No luggage rack or place to 
       put your suitcase.
No hair dryer.
No lamps on bedside table. 
No conveniently placed plug for    
        charging phone. 
No security latch on door.  
The room size was big enough.   
The motel is close to businesses
and restaurants. 
The front desk gentleman was very polite. 
This motel would get a 5 if some of these inconveniences were taken care of. 


Clean

Inexpensive no frills clean - none of these are negative to me for this purpose. I needed a clean place to lay my head with easy access to a meeting I was attending - this place was perfect for me. I would certainly stay again. There appeared to me to be many other travelers there for the same purpose.

Just what I wanted

I booked a flight for a night to visit Bastrop. It's close to downtown (5 minutes by car), it's a simple motel but it has everything, the room is spacious, pretty clean, with toilet.
