We absolutely loved this park!!! Staff is very friendly. Dog park is well done. Only a few miles from the center of Keystone with all its activities. The park is on well water so No regulator was needed on your water hook up. Down in  a low area so cell service was diminished. They do have cabins up above but we didn’t see them. They looked nice from the outside. We would definitely go back!

The photos are a bit deceiving as I thought we'd have more room outside the cabin (parking situation wasn't ideal - there was a big dip for a drainage ditch that was dangerous. They had rocks around it painted bright orange, but in the dark you cant see thwm very well.) and everything is on a hill so it's not great for just walking around. The towels were very thin and cheap and the bed had a plastic mattress pad and sheets that didn't fit right so they came undone all night long. On the plus side the location for Mt. Rushmore was great and it's far enough out of Keystone to be quiet yet close enough to get food etc.

Wow what an amazing experience. First time staying in a cabin and it was a dream come true. Place was clean and well kept. TV was a little small but all I need is to hear the news and weather and we are good to go. 
Amenities are great and not complaints. Well done 👍

Amazing experience, Definitely will return with the family for longer stay

We stayed in cabin 1, Vulcan with our Boston Terrier Otis. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the grounds were well kept. The manager Lynette and all the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful area and close to all attractions. We highly recommend Holy Smoke Resort!

We arrived at the resort with an RV and didn't realize we couldn't drive our RV to the cabin directly, so on his day off, the employee of the resort was called and he came so willingly to help us bring our belongings  with his own truck! He even came back at the end of our stay and helped us bring everything back to our RV! The office lady is also so nice and had a  beautiful smile! We had such a pleasant time at the cabin. The cabins are nice and well taken care of! We stayed in a duplex and couldn't hear the other family in their room at all. The hills are nice and quiet!! Beautiful views! 

Very nice place!! AMAZING STAFF!

Terrible experience. Had a duplex cabin. Walls so thin you could hear the people next to us talk and move around. Was a real treat listening to your neighbor use the bathroom. The cabin door did not lock. The cabin was clean and I liked the pillows. We were over charged for two night. The staff was friendly in that fake service orientated way. The location is awesome! Great for hitting most of the Black Hills and rapid. I would not stay here again, would rather burn my money and sleep in the car.

Never again

We stayed in one of the larger cabins.  Steep climb to the top where the cabin is, but there is plenty of parking. Scenery is beautiful out there front and back of the cabin.  Kitchen is well stocked with dishes. Cabin has an air conditioner in the living room, but wasn’t enough for a couple of days to keep the loft cool or the bedroom. Recommendations are bring a fan with you. There are ceiling fans, but still needed a fan. For those staying in the loft I highly recommend an eye mask at night.   There are two large windows that have no shades and it gets daylight at 4:45 and doesn’t get dark until almost 9:15.  We opened the windows to help keep the rooms cool.   The location of the resort is wonderful. Close to Keystone and easily accessible to Custer, Needles, Rushmore and Iron Mtn Hwy.

Family vacation 2022

I reserved this cabin almost one year in advance. My wife and I really enjoyed cabin #7! The staff and owner were very nice and professional. We forgot to bring a corkscrew and they brought one too us. During our stay we experienced two strong thunderstorms with lightning and wind. The first storm had small hail with the rain. We would definitely recommend this place for everyone looking for a cabin in the woods!

Loved our cabin #7

I loved our stay here. We rented cabins 9 and 10 for two nights. Cabins were clean and comfortable, close to many attractions and settled into beautiful scenery. Close to the highway but it was very peaceful and quiet. Had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

Cute and Cozy

We booked a campsite here.  It's basically a parking lot for RV's.  NO showers or bathroom to use.  They did not even have ice for sale.  When we decided to move to another campground, they would not refund any of our money even though our neighbors said they would take our spot.  They charged the them again for the campsite we gave up so essentially made double money on it.  We have been camping all across the US for 5 months and have never experienced this.  Everyone is pretty flexible with refunds due to covid.  We did not stay in or see the cabins so I have no review on them.
