Hello, we spent one night in this establishment in August 2023. we were very well received by the host. room and bed clean. western atmosphere in this small town. the only negative point was that we ej only 5 minutes of hot water in the shower otherwise everything is fine

Stay in August 2023

Small motel out of the way of lots of travelers (i.e. tourists - ha).  Quiet town, small.  Motel was very nicely decorated (this was something my wife mentioned repeatedly and shared with the owner).  I look for comfort, function, amenities and price and all these desires of mine were well-satisfied.  No breakfast but that was a known ahead of time and not a concern.

This motel surprised us. It was great! Clean, comfortable bed, updated bathroom. Never thought we'd spend the night in Bluff but it was a great place to stay. Quaint, quiet, and actually used a real key!

Nice Motel

This motel was a hidden gem in a very small town and great value for money - it is an older motel but has been revamped - the room was incredibly clean and a super comfy bed - fantastic for an overnight stay on our road trip.  

A hidden gem

Mokee Motel is a small, art-object filled property. It's a perfect spot near Four Corners (or, in the other direction, not that far from Monument Valley). We stayed overnight on our way to Durango. We got in well before check-in and had a very enjoyable conversation with the manager (owner??) who let us into the room early.  The room was clean, comfortable, soft beds, flat screen tv, free WiFi, coffee maker, good shower albeit a bit tight and some western-style art/decoration. The only thing missing for me was a hair dryer but not a very big deal. It's very reasonable - and I prefer the smaller, funky places to stay. Although there is no breakfast, you are not far from the best place around, The Twin Rocks Cafe (as long as it isn't a Wednesday). 

Mokee Motel - A Small Gem in Bluff, UT

We stayed at the Mokee Motel in October 2022. After returning from dinner at the Twin Rocks Cafe (highly recommended!), I found cockroaches on the floor between the beds. They definitely had not been there before we left the room for dinner. I killed them (but yuck) and went to the office to tell the desk clerk. It was about 8 p.m. and the OPEN sign was lit up, but no one answered. I went to the office again the next morning, but there was no answer, and no one answered the phone when I called. Later, I finally reached the manager (owner?) by phone. She said she'd been away, and apologized for the cockroaches and the nonresponse from the person working in the office while she was gone. Our credit card had already been charged, but I asked for a small refund from the $141 we paid for the room. She said she'd think about it and would call me back the next morning. She never called me back nor did she respond to a message I left reminding her that she'd promised to call. The whole experience was yucky, weird, and disappointing.

Poor service + cockroaches!

Nice hotel, but basic. Expensive enough for what's on offer but not much of an alternative around the corner to visit Monument Valley. Presence of a refrigerator but no possibility of making yourself a coffee or tea.

I'm good.

Such a truly pleasant and comfortable stay at the Mokee Motel. The outside looks a little dated, tho I love the vintage look. The inside was immaculate and neat. Nearly everything looked very new. The entire bath looked to have just been completely redone. The air conditioner, fridge and microwave were new.  And the bed was Super comfortable, new linens. What more can I say? Oh, the welcome was appropriately warm. The price was right. There ya go.

Liked: Communication was great and very accomodating after a very late arrival due to airline delays. Everything that was promised was delivered on, great clean room, great price, in a great location for an overnight stop while traveling. Would definitely stay again if in the area. So pleasantly surprised by this Motel.

Disliked: The only thing I would add to the room would be a coffee maker, but we just went up the road to the gas station where they were also very friendly with very good coffee.

Very pleasantly surprised in the middle of nowhere in the high desert.

Quirky little place in the middle of nowhere.  Paid $107 on Priceline, which was probably twice what it was worth.  But it was cute and clean.  We got to-go from the restaurant next door and had a picnic of sorts at a table right outside our door.  We were the only people staying there although the sign out front said No Vacancy....  Also, a 100 lb person could have kicked in the door with little effort.  There was no safety latch or deadbolt, which made me feel very unsafe.  I would not recommend this place but suggest that you drive a little further to the next town: Blanding.  But drive slowly there.  We got pulled for doing 38 in a 30!
