I booked and paid for a full cancellation refund option. The hotel policy indicated 48h notice. I emailed the hotel to cancel with more than 48h notice. They contacted me stating that I was in the 48h window (I have it in writing) but that I had to call booking.com to cancel. I had booked on the hotel’s website, never on booking.com. it turns out that the hotel outsources its reservations to booking.com. Here is the outrageous part: booking.com has a 3 day cancellation policy, so inconsistent with the hotel’s. As a result, they charged me a $170 cancellation feel! I asked the hotel several times to fix this as this is inconsistent with their own policy and they are not responding to my emails, they are ignoring my follow ups. I had to involve my credit card company as this is clearly abusive.
Besides the misleading cancellation information, this is a really poor customer experience.

Great place to stay in the area. Affordable, clean, quiet, and warm, friendly staff.  Praise checked us in and out and always had a welcoming vibe.

We stayed for new year's weekend for a chill getaway and to check out homes for sale in the area. The room was simple, comfortable, spacious and clean.  The location was quiet and just off the main street.  Wildwood Inn will be our go-to spot in the area from now on. :)

This is a decent place to use as a base for Skiing in the area. Typically, car chain controls are farther east of here, so thats convenient. There are some decent cafes and restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are a bit old, but clean. The highlight of this place was the reception staff (and owner?). She (I think her name is Praise?) was friendly and very helpful. We payed for 2 nights but decided to go home a day early because the road conditions were good enough. She gave us a refund for that day even though we didnt ask! We will be be back here on our next trip.

Good location and great staff

Clean mountain hotel close to the park, golf course, mini golf course, snow cone shack, creek, walking trails and restaurants .  Our 4 years old twins loved it and so did we.  We also enjoyed the hot tub during our stay.

Really nice stay

Hotel is an older motel property, though maintained and clean. Remember this a motel, not a five star property, so go in expecting a motel experience. The employees were pleasant and welcoming for the few moments i interacted with them. My room was clean and the air conditioning worked very well (super super hot outside the day I visited). 

The property is located in the quaint downtown, walking distance to a couple restaurants and bars. 

I will stay here again for sure. The only thing that annoyed me was no carpeting on the floors, which always makes it feel very institutional for me and less home like.

Very Good Stay in a Cute Town

This hotel is poorly managed, unclean, and worst of all insulting/rude staff. If I could do it again I would have stayed at the Cedar Gables Inn or an AirBnB. Literally a tent in the park would be better. Don’t let them ruin your getaway. You’ve been warned.

Poor management, dirty hotel

Wildwood Inn Motor Lodge was more than I expected and it was wonderful to be able to walk to a convenience store and restaurants. I truly was not expecting much from the Wildwood but they really did make my stay a wonderful one. 

I arrived a bit earlier than check in time and they quickly checked to see if my room was ready and passed their COVID safety checks. They graciously allowed me to check in early so I could take a conference call. 

The room was very clean and in much better condition than I expected. It was comfortable and the heater worked great which was well needed in the middle of February. There was plenty of parking and it is super quiet in Twain Harte. 

They do have the vending and ice machines closed due to COVID so hit up the local convenience store if you need ice.

More than I expected

We used the motel as a starting point for Yosemite. The 200km distance was no problem. For the same price, we couldn't find accommodation at the same distance with similar relatively good ratings. Rooms were okay and we had room.

It's a typical motel.

Nice surprise. Hyper well placed in the middle of a very well-maintained green screen. Charming motel, very clean. Close to a nice restaurant The Rock, perfect for a dinner with friends.

Very good address

We stayed one night at this hotel. Okay, the room is very clean with a bathroom on the top, nothing to blame. The wifi was not good though but it's the only bemol. The little dej is fine with waffles, juice, coffee and tea and bread. The price is a little expensive but it does!
