I would never stay at this location again. Firstly the key worked once then neither key would work. The receptionist could not get her key to work and did not have a master key. Luckily we  had not left anything in the room. We ended up being moved to another room, 330 which was extremely cold. It took a while for it to warm up once we turned on the heat. Apparently the door lock batteries were dead for a number of rooms.
The door to the adjoining room could not be locked and did not have  a chain on it. We ended up with a chair and a suitcase put against it. If I had been travelling alone without my husband I would not have stayed there.
In the bathroom my husband refused to take a shower because the tub did not have a plug in it (it was sitting on a shelf in the tub) & there was a purple stain all around the drain.
On a positive note, Ruth the manager was very nice and helped us as much as she was able.

Unsafe & poor maintenance

I was part of a group that stayed here over this past weekend from 09/22/23 to 09/24/23. In total, we had 4 rooms across our group. When we arrived, one of the rooms we were given to us was occupied. The next room that was given to them smelled strongly of Marijuana, as if someone had been smoking in there just recently. The floors in all the rooms were so disgusting that all of our socks turned brown/black just walking around. The bathroom sink in one of the rooms took 15 minutes to drain, there were "Little Tree" car scent things attached to the air ducts in the rooms which is something I have never seen before. The lighting in these rooms is pitiful at best, and some lights were actually strobing. One of the comforters in a room was full of cigarette burn holes, and many of the towels were stained/ browning. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. I would never recomend anyone stay at this location. If your trying to save a few bucks I would recomend going to Dunhams nearby and buying a tent or some sleeping bags and sleeping in your vehicle before going here.

Terrible Experience

When we arrived, our room smelled like cigarettes and the window was open without a screen so there was bugs in the room.  There was no toilet paper and when I asked to be moved to a non-smoking room I was moved to another room however, the room was under renovation and there was a toilet on a cart in the main area.  The bathroom was not cleaned.  At 5 o’clock in the morning, the person next to our room (non-smoking room) was smoking excessively and it was coming into our room.  Overall, horrible experience!

Awful

I urge you all those of who visiting Erie PA not to stay in this hotel. I had one of the worst experiances. This morning I had a terrible experiance with this Econo Lodge. The rooms were too small and when I was checking out our room keys weren't working to get remaining stuff in our rooms. The front desk worker or manager kept doing this it wasn't working and then I was calling her and was claiming I was screaming for her and being disrespectful and giving me a hard time and wanted get the last of my stuff and leave and she making statements my husband doesn't talk to me like that well am glad I am not her husband. I said to her you eiether let us in our room to get our stuff or am calling the police and she wind up calling the PA state police and they escorted us to our room to get our stuff and we left. This was unnecessary all we wanted was access to our rooms. It costed us $120.00 a night and I urge all not to stay there.

Unnecessary rudeness.

There was a foul odor upon entering the front lobby door. Walked down the hallway and started feeling water squishing on the carpet. Not sure if there was a toilet overflow or what happened. Went to the second floor and the whole hallway smelled like cigarette smoke. Went to the third floor and there was another different foul odor up there. Needless to say, I left and slept elsewhere. I've previously stayed at other Econolodges that were fine, not sure what is going on here.

Avoid this location!

Passable for being on the cheap side.  It's not exactly in the best repair nor the cleanest, but will do the job if you are OK with compromising with that for price.  Sound insulation in very poor, sleep quality a little below average.

Rough, but acceptable for what it is

After checking the rooms twice, we switched rooms because either the door code didn't work or the door instead of a spy had a hole and no safety belts. Room 332 with two queens was okay so far. On the surface, everything was clean and equipped with the usual standard equipment. The haptic experience of the bed linen was less beautiful, especially the synthetic brown mid-coat. Despite all this, we had a good night.

A simple motel standard

Tons of junk under both beds. Boxes, Food, people's leftovers. Plastic cups so old, could not get plastic wrap off. Credit Card charged for 5 nights, on night of arrival though told front desk, I wasn't staying.  DIRTY!  Left for an immaculate Holiday Inn Express, which was considerably cheaper.  Did not even try the breakfast at Econo Lodge.

Tons of junk

Despite having reservations for two nights, we left after the first night. There were all sorts of unappetizing odors at this place. The room was designated no smoking, yet the odor of cigarettes filled the room. The bed sagged. The fixtures were stained. The wi-fi was as fast as dial-up. Our credit card was charged for two nights. I hope I don't have to call the credit card company to have the second night refunded.

The only good thing was that the windows opened on a beautiful night.

We moved to a different hotel further down I79 for our second night and for $20 more per night stayed a a lovely, clean hotel with comfy beds, indoor pool, a fitness center, and a full breakfast. 

I am truly surprised that Choice Hotels lets this owner use their brand for this hot mess.

Smelly

My son was at a friend's camp in conneaut and had an accident. We had to last minute drive 2 hours up from home to meet and have him seen at the med express. We booked this hotel last minute and believe me if we had a choice not to stay there we would not have stayed. Every hotel in the area was booked because of Ghost lake and Pumpkin fest. From the moment you walk in it is filthy. Glass doors and front desk are looked like it hasn't been cleaned since the place opened. The room smelled of mold and rot. We were in room 332. We thought it was odd at first that there was a plunger there with a old towel that said use me if there is an accident:( come to realize literally you had to plug the toilet AFTER EVERY USE. Obviously there were continuing accidents. THE COMFORTER HAD BURN HOLES ALL THROUGH IT! The room was gross... Then all night people were fighting and screaming in the halls. If my son did not need to sleep and rest his leg we would have fled immediately.  We were stuck for a few hours of needing rest after the trauma he had just been through. The bathtub looked like it was never cleaned. It literally was DISGUSTING.  In the morning we woke. There was a man trying to hurt himself in the room 2 doors down and instead of calling someone for help the 2 frontdesk girls were up there trying to council him. Like DANGEROUS and WTH. Then No breakfast. Not that we would have eaten there anyway but they should NOT ADVERTISE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST because there was nothing. It was just GROSS. Do not stay here.
