We called the motel direct on May 30th, booking 2 rooms for June 28 for one night.  I asked twice for the booking conformation and she said it was my cell phone number.  The rate was $65.00.
Upon arrival the lady said there was no reservation.  She was extremely negative during the whole interaction.  She said the rate was $79.00, which was $90.40 with taxes.  She said the rate was  never $65.00.   We paid for the room and then went to our rooms.    The only amenity  was a fly swatter and both rooms were full of flies.  It took us quite awhile to get them all killed and out of our rooms.  It was disgusting and we probably should have gone elsewhere but we didn’t think we would get out money back so we stayed.  

We do not recommend this motel.

We made a reservation with this inn in advance of our stay and was given a rate of $65.00 and told our reservation number was our phone number.  when we got there, the lady at the counter said there wasn’t a reservation and charged us $79.00 for the room, that turned out to be the most terrible place we have ever stayed.  when we got in our room, it was swarming with flies so we spent the first 30 minutes there killing the flies. To make the visit even worse, the lady who checked us in was extremely unpleasant.  No one should ever stay at this inn.

Worst Lodging Stay Ever

What a find!!! My family and I stayed during our visit to Palo Duro, we checked in at 3 and our room was freshly mopped and clean. The beds were comfortable and the updates to the hotel were perfect. I loved the vintage feel and small personal touches. We will definitely stay here again! 

Vintage motel perfection!

A little paradise in town.  Such a great place to unwind and enjoy the great location yet feels like you are away from it all .  Accommodations are all here and nice .  Clean is the important part for me and this ticks that and more. 
Front desk is beyond kind and very helpful . 
One of the greatest things I noticed they treat our veterans with huge respect. I got to witness that when I was checking in thank you may be proud to be an American for sure 🇺🇸

Canyon prize

First glance appeared great, then went to take a bath. Dirt from bathmat to drain with a large, live cock roach . Awakened desk clerk and asked for cleaning product . Was told he didn't have any, to just rinse dirt out. THEN, I pulled up tub mat and dirt was from black mold that was actively growing  underneath mat and on bottom of tub.
Started to prepare coffee the next morning and found carafe had dried coffee in it .Mentioned the mold and dirty carafe when checking out. Clerk just said he was sorry, that the room had not been used in a couple of weeks.
Suggest you pass on this inn!

Disappointed!

Room had an odor, stains on bedding. TV wasn't working at first.
Was a pet friendly motel, only place to walk a pet was behind building which felt
very insecure,especially after dark. They told us there was an alley, which had a dumpster sitting in it,blocking the alley. Went and asked for a refund, they refused. Left, would'nt stay there

Not recommended

This is a clean, quiet, no frills hotel. The 2 staff members we had contact with were friendly. It’s been renovated within the past few years. Our room had nice hardwood floors. I love the scenery on the pull down window shade. The air conditioner worked amazingly well (which was huge for us because the reason we rented the room was because our AC in our house went out and couldn’t be fixed immediately, and it got up to 95 degrees in our house!)
My main complaint would be that the platform bed frame is metal, so sometimes moving on it causes the metal to make loud noises, which woke up our toddler. But overall the stay was good, and the room was a nice place to be for the evening.

Nice little place!

New fixtures and tub in bathroom. Good air conditioner. Clean. Sign calling it a Vintage Motel tells it all. McDonalds and Buff's Cafe almost right next door. Motel rooms are shaped like a horseshoe and recommend you avoid rooms closest to street because of road noise. We liked it.

Very good for price on Route 66

This was the 5th hotel in 12 days all booked on booking.com. The price included taxes and was 78$. After we left I discovered I was charged 86$. They did not offer a receipt . I have tried to contact them and they do not answer my emails. The room was ok. It was clean and rather spacious. We finally got the TV to work after working at it for over 30 mins. We left it on while we went to dinner and it was off when we returned. We never got it working again. The location was great. The hotel has been updated. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of three is because of the overcharge the will not address.

The basic needs for an overnight stay. It's an old building but the firm beds are new, the bathroom has had some upgrades, and the HVAC unit worked fine. Traffic noise so bring ear plugs. Great location for campus access and walking distance to Little Caesars, McDonald's, a Thai Restaurant, and Buffs Grill. Across the street from a gas station so easy to fill up and get on the road.
