Clean, comfortable and quaint. Windows open, good lighting, nice towels and sheets, quiet. Friendly for people and pets. Must go to Habanero Mexican restaurant = excellent !

Traditional and fine.

I’m partial to motels where you park in front of your door, as it’s so convenient to load/unload. Plus, being a traditional one level structure there’s also the bonus of eliminating the chance of getting noisy people above. 
The room is spacious enough, clean and includes a fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. The TV selection was only basic but I had a very relaxing night of sleep and that’s what I needed. 


Traditional American motel

Sorry to say I was disappointed.  I had high hopes for this place but it sadly fell short of my expectations based on possibly older reviews 🤔. It lacked a few basic things like Kleenex and coffee in the room — in fact there was no coffee or breakfast anywhere on premises. But those things aren’t super important to me — what I really missed was a nice clean room.  The room was small and honestly quite shabby.   Typed up notes on doors and everywhere about random things were off putting.  The  location was nice but that’s about all I can say to recommend it.

Awesome for the price

The rooms are very, very clean-they are spotless!  The rooms are decorated in the 50's in line with them being on Rt 66, very fun decor.  It has a matching microwave, coffee pot, mini fridge and phone! 
There is a beautiful lake right next door. The manager/owner was delightful to visit with.  It's a bargain for such a nice room.  We love the Best Budget Inn!

We stayed here for one night based price and reviews. We were not disappointed! We used a third party to book and got a good rate. a classic road side motel with smallish rooms a befitting its vintage but this place was a perfect time capsule. Classic tiled bath but it was spotless and everything worked well.

There were 50's motif micro and fridge. Guest laundry and ice machine. Wifi worked great as I streamed the Tour de France. I recommend this place because the owners are doing a great job keeping vintage Mother Road accommodations up to date and a pleasant throwback.

They were very helpful with local history and restaurant recommendations.

You won't be disappointed!

Route 66 Gem

Stayed here on a trip to pick up our new 8 week old redbone coonhound puppy.  It was 10 miles out of our way, but well worth the extra drive.  Very clean rooms, everything worked well.  Friendly front desk.  Have all doors opening to the outside which was great for Covid 19 precautions.  Rooms were retro design and nice.  Large grassy area for pets, and it was right next to a city park.  With taxes, and a $7 pet surcharge, it was still seventy some dollars for the night.  There is also a dollar general right next door in case you need something.  It's on the north side of town, but well worth the drive if you're staying in the area.  No breakfast because of Covid19, but still a great value.  Had a fridge and microwave in the room.

The room, location and amenities were perfect for our overnight stop en route from Wisconsin to Texas.  Rooms were very clean and very 50s style.  Great grounds and nice park across the street from the inn. Owner knowledgeable and friendly.  Nice breakfast included. Recommend and would stay again.

Cute, Clean, Retro Inn

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Budget Inn. This motel was originally known as the Lake Shore Motel and is at the split of two different Route 66 alignments. The property has been well-maintained and the bathrooms maintain their vintage charm. The view of the lake was nice for a relaxing environment and I slept great.

My husband and I arrived after 10:30 pm, and the friendly owner was there to check us in.  He was very helpful.   The room was quite nice--very clean!!  Some of the decorations were vintage--a turquoise rotary phone and matching Frigidaire fridge!  The bed was quite comfortable.  We had a very pleasant visit with the owner in the morning during breakfast.  If we are in the area, we would definitely stay here again!
