One of my favorite places ever! So relaxing & pampering with all the luxurious bedding & towels, homemade breakfasts. All within walking distances of shops & restaurants, especially those along the historic section of Cedarburg. Museum & creek is a short 1/2 block away. Museum well-worth visiting.

Washington House❤️

It was a wonderful place to come back to after a long day at work in Milwaukee. The drive to and from the office was easy. The breakfast was delicious and the dining area was lovely. There are so many unique and special places nearby. While I didn't get to enjoy the wine hour on this trip, I'm looking  forward to it next time!

Great place to stay!

The hot tub and wine and cheese hour and breakfast are the best there.  The furniture in room should be updated.  Our bed was very uncomfortable.  The love seat was more comfortable than the bed but still so outdated.  My wife found a similar place somewhere else with nicer rooms at same price.

Was nice to get away

We have stayed here a couple times prior to the pandemic and I'm thankful our return was even better than i imagined! I'd recommend the whirlpool loft rooms as a relaxing getaway. The food, grounds and the staff were all wonderful.

Wonderful getaway

The Washington House Inn staff and accommodations were all I hoped for. The inn can be defined as comfortably elegant, historically charming, and staffed by attentive (though not obsequious), experienced professionals. Our initial holiday reservation for multiple rooms changed several times prior to our arrival for a family funeral. The inn keeper remained flexible, graciously accommodating each change as plans were finalized. Our rooms were spotless, each uniquely charming. The gathering room with fireplace was a cozy place for us to gather for a delicious breakfast each morning and a quiet, relaxing retreat for tea at the end of the day.  The local artists’ paintings on display in the lobby and gathering room were a special treat.

A beautiful, historic, elegant and relaxing inn

A birthday treat for me. The hotel's  handicapped parking was a lucky extra adjacent to the rear entrance. The owner, Wendy, gracious, helpful. The breakfast bountiful, delicious. I recommended it to my physical therapist who promptly went with her husband for their 45th anniversary and agreed. We liked the entire visit enough to return and plan to do so. The restaurants, within easy distance, were each good- as well as  also the QUILT AND FINE FIBERS MUSEUM, which opened for us even  though normally closed on Mon.& Tue. That's the sort of town it is. For us it was just dumb luck!

Total Pleasure!

I have stayed here a number of times and always had a great experience.  This was the first visit since the pandemic and I was a little disappointed.  Although the room was super clean as always and I understand it’s an old building, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling.  I always enjoy the wine and cheese social hour, however, there was only sweet wine available.  There should be dry wine for people who don’t like sweet. They used to serve dry red, not sure why that has changed unless it’s a cost saving measure.  The breakfast pastries were great. However the egg dish was sub par at best. I also think they have raised room rates quite a bit and for that reason I think the stay was just average and a little disappointing.

Little disappointing stay

Amazing!! It was so cute! The little town it’s in looks straight out of a Hallmark movie! Location is perfect! Staff was so nice! Everything was so clean! Breakfast was perfect! I can’t say enough great things about it! We will be back for sure!

Definitely stay here!!!

This was a nice little boutique hotel.  The service was very friendly.  The room was very small, but nice.  We had only planned on staying for the night, so we didn't need a lot of space.  The bed was comfortable and there was a full size soaking / hot tub in the bathroom that easily fit two people in it.  They had a continental breakfast with lots of options, but honestly there are a lot of good breakfast places in town.  Only downside was our room was literally right next to the lobby and an elevator, so we heard a lot of movement when we were in our room.  Overall was a good experience, but nothing to brag about.

Romantic Getaway

We were looking for a few days away and Washington House Inn was an excellent choice! 

Our room had our own private entrance to a parking area and alley which lead right to Washington Avenue where all of the nearby shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. We stayed on a Sunday to Tuesday and noticed a lot of the shops nearby close early and some restaurants are not open at all on Sunday evenings or Mondays. This did not affect our rating or decision to stay here though. This could possibly be different depending on time of year as well. 

The bed was a bit hard for our taste but the linens, soft towels and overall stay here easily made up for it. A neat old historical building with a very unique layout and rooms very different from what we’ve ever experienced before. Definitely not your typical hotel room but certainly had all of the amenities of one! Each evening there was a nice social hour featuring snacks, cheese, crackers and wine from the nearby Cedar Creek Winery. Every morning a breakfast that you will definitely won’t leave hungry from. Pastries, fresh fruit, egg bake, yogurt, cereal. The scones, chocolate croissants, and apple turnovers were absolutely fantastic! 

From the time we were greeted as we walked in the door until the time we left every single employee was friendly and welcoming. 

Another neat touch we enjoyed is that they still use actual keys for the doors! They also have a nice DVD selection available if you would like some quiet time in which we enjoyed as well. 

We highly recommend Washington House Inn and will definitely return for our next time we need to get away.
