I booked to stay at this hotel a couple of months ago. 
Turned up today and ITS NO LONGER THERE. 
As stated below, it has burnt down. 
It would have been nice to have been contacted about this before I drove 5 hours over the Independence Day celebrations to find this out.

Hotel no longer there

I regret to have to announce that fire destroyed this hotel on May 3rd 2017. There is no news of a rebuild at this time. The fire which started at 4pm in the afternoon totally destroyed the hotel. Cause as yet unknown

FIRE DESTROYS HOTEL

The only nice things I can say about this hotel was that the bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom looked as though it had been renovated and was clean. The carpet needed to be vacuumed, the couch had large amounts of hair all over it and it had a funny smell to the room. We stayed here one night while we toured UVA but I will never stay here again. 

It Served the Purpose 

It did the job, although some of the staff was rude- didn't want to give out pillows.  But the place was clean, although simple. The breakfast was typical but very bland.  The creamer is old- so don't drink it.  The ok is awful. 

It's fine. 

The manager was super helpful and friendly.  The room was very clean, and the beds very comfortable.  The hotel is very reasonably priced too, and close proximity to UVA and everywhere we needed to go.  The only con was the wifi service.  I was told that we had wifi in the room; however, I was not able to stay connected.

Very clean

Having stayed at this motel for 10 days, I had the opportunity to enjoy all the advantages about myself: - 5 minutes' walk from the central grounds of the UVA campus where my son was staying. - Very kind family and always ready to help manage this motel. - Lunch included, rare in the USA (not terrible eggs), but everything remains perfect and hot waffle with maple syrup every morning if you want. - Functional and convenient laundry. - Also close to the large Barracks mall. - FREE phone for all local or long distance calls (USA and Canada), my son having a very useful new American. - suitcases in the bathroom (not even a common problem in most households). - But - whoever is just passing through the bathroom, the number of personal rooms is very nice. - Well, it's just a few minutes away, but - whoever's really nice, and whoever is, but...

The perfect hotel to be close to UVA University

A great solution, very happy for location at the libraries of the University of Virginia (less than the city center, but with a free citizen service of nice old-style shuttle very close), which combines practicality and services at really affordable costs and, above all, the great kindness and availability from the managers. I certainly share the assessment of 'bradipolat'. The room, clean and spacious, had all the useful services, from the perfectly functioning WiFi to the electronic safe, to the latest model television (to whoever needs it) and (very useful) to the stir-fry.

Great solution, very nice staff.

I was very hesitant when I arrived in Charlottesville about booking this place, given the bad reviews and I must say that I immediately reconsidered, first of all because it was the only central station still available being the moving week! The structure is well maintained and very clean, the managers are very nice and available. My room (a double queen) was huge, clean, renovated and with very comfortable beds. WiFi available throughout the facility and breakfast (which I didn't try) included in the price. The only new is the railway right behind the hotel, over which, rarely, a slow Moo loaded freight train passes.
