Driving from MT to TX, tried to rent a room in Casper - the rates were outrageously high. Looking at the Map, Ok, I can drive another hour or so to Chugwater to get a room at a decent rate. Although I didn't stay here at the Lodge I did eat in the Grill. It is an old place but well kept. The menu had a variety as usual they even had live entertainment. The waitress was the jewel. She was kind, patient, helpful and intuitive. She was attentive and readily available to tend my every need. Remember me??? Tiffany you are a wonderful waitress and should be teaching the art of being one.  I hope you remember me, Cause I'll be back.

Stumbled in, LOL.

I had the pleasure of staying here due to bad weather. I was on my motorcycle traveling to the Sturgis rally in Sturgis South Dakota, when I encountered heavy rain on I 25 in Chugwater, Wyoming. I pulled off into a rest area and got myself dried off and changed my clothes. As soon as the rain let up, I got going again, but with wet grass and mud, I dropped my bike. With some help I was able to get it upright and got going. It was near the end of the day, I went on Yelp and looked for someplace close to spend the night. As it turned out, Buffalo Lodge was just around the corner from where I was at! I called and asked if they had a vacancy. I mentioned to them that I was on a motorcycle and it had been a tough day. When I arrived it was as if they were waiting for me! The room they had for me was quiet, nicely furnished, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. All at a great rate! I was so glad I made the decision to get off the Highway! After a great nights sleep I went to the lobby where there was fresh Coffee, Honey buns, and Individual pastry Danish. They also have Yogurt, Cereal, and Juice. I went outside to check on my motorcycle. Wipe it down, and assess any damage from dropping it the night before. All good.  I had my morning coffee outside with the owner of Buffalo Lodge and I felt like a friend. Here they make you feel welcome and appreciated. 5 Stars!

“What A Great Stay!!”

We stopped at the rest area near by just to use the restroom and be on our way, (around 530-6pm) but due to the horrible condition of the rest area drive/parking lot our big rig got stuck. We decided to wait till morning, put the chains on and leave then. My husband saw the Buffalo Bar & Lodge and we decided to have a date night. We tried to walk through snow toward the building but quickly learned there was not a through fence. So we walked the road past rest area. When we got there the sign said cafe was closed but La Cyndia said all we have left is chili if that’s ok. (The night before I25 was shutdown and they feed and slept over 65 people). We were grateful and ended up playing pool and talking with them until close to midnight! My husbands comment on the walk back was, “that’s the most fun I have ever had stopping for the night!” Also we learned they have truck parking!!

What a wonderful place to stay.  Very quiet.  Near Cheyenne and other things to do.  Lucinda the owner is very nice and helpful.
Room was comfortable and beds and everything else was great.  Right off the freeway.
Can't wait to stay there again if back in the area.

Perfect small town country location and a great place to stay.

We were road weary.... then we found the Buffalo Lodge online... it is in Chugwater WY. a Charming tiny tiny town. We had a hard time finding it though as it was tucked around some corners at the end of a road, but worth it. It was peaceful snd quiet. But LaCynda, the owner, welcomed us with open arms. We have never had a kinder host, and the room was spotless. She told us all about the history of the town which was really neat, and what all was available there. We were too tired to do anything but she was gracious to help however she could. Covid hit them hard in 2020, so please support these folks if you are in the area! They are native to the area and family owned and great people!!

Excellent and Friendly place to stay!

This hotel was such a wonderful find for us. We were on the last leg of a very long road trip with two dogs in the car and the highway had to be closed due to high winds. we had to get off a find a place for two adults AND two dogs to stay for the night. My gps said that I was near the Buffalo lodge.  When I called the lodge Lucinda answered and she took care of everything. She welcomed us and our dogs, got us checked in and recommended a wonderful place for us to go to get a bite to eat. The room was clean with beautiful western wall decor. The best part was the nice HOT shower after a long and stressful day. This was probably the best water pressure of any hotel that I have stayed at.  Thank You!!!

Great find

If you’re using your GPS when looking for a motel while on the Interstate, you’ll miss it-not in the database. That would be too bad as the owners are trying really hard with only the two of them. They have a phone at the front desk so you can get them anytime to come or get up to help you. They are trying to recover from a monstrous hail and rain storm that flooded a large part of the motel. The dining room is only open when there are large groups booked; this is unfortunate as the bar/dining room has got great character with very old Wyoming license plates adorning the beautiful beams. There is a great little eatery on the other side of town, Stampede Eatery and Saloon, that has live music on the weekends-the town only has a couple hundred people so other side of town is about 5 blocks. So nice and clean, super friendly, not expensive- good choice.

Tries really hard

This is a great place to stay.  It’s family owned and they make you feel at home.  Rooms are very clean and beds are very comfortable.  It’s quiet, relaxed and very peaceful.  
Great coffee and they made us a delicious burger. I do recommend the Buffalo Lodge

Clean rooms and comfortable beds.  The Buffalo Lodge Inn was a pleasant unexpected stop.  We got stuck in a blizzard and had to stop.  We have two girls that enjoyed the game room while we enjoyed a couple drinks at the bar.

The small town of Chugwater for my travels between the Black Hills is a way better stop than Wheatland or Cheyenne
 This place is: cozy, clean, quiet, in a pretty part of Wyoming, and REASONABLE!
Rooms have fridge, microwave, work table , and cumfy chairs. People are very friendly. And town is famous for very good chili!
