My husband and I recently stayed at The Firefly Inn while attending a wedding in the area. Wow, the newly renovated Inn is beautiful!  We stayed in the Peter Starbuck suite which has a lovely gas fireplace, love seat and wine refrigerator.  The mattress and bedding are clearly all new and top quality as they were fresh and comfortable.  The bathroom was stunning with a large glass tiled shower and separate bathtub. There are a number of lovely spaces for gathering and relaxing  - an outdoor patio overlooking the expansive lawn, a cafe area with snacks, drinks and coffee and the living room complete with a full array of games.  The new owners have spared no expense in making the new Inn an inviting and luxurious place to stay in Kent.  What a wonderful addition to a beautiful part of Connecticut!  

Fabulous stay in Kent

I stayed at the Inn while attending a wedding in Pawling, NY - and I'm so happy I did. The Inn has been beautifully renovated, and feels fresh and new inside.  The furnishings throughout had me taking photos for decorating ideas; the decor is a wonderful blend of comfort, excellent design, and pure fun.  My room (The Kate Hopson Suite) was enormous, with a gas fireplace and inviting armchair.  I'm picky about bedding and towels, and they were all excellent - as were the bathroom toiletries.

The rest of the Inn has multiple places to sit and read, or have a cup of coffee with friends; the tea room (with snacks, beverages, tea and coffee) has the the happiest wallpaper I've ever seen.  Downtown Kent is a short walk away.

I'll be looking for an excuse to return!

September Stay at the Firefly Inn

We stayed at the Firefly for our Kent School Reunion weekend of June 23rd.  The Inn was totally renovated and brand new. Great beds, mattresses and pillows. Real nice bathroom and shower. They have my favorite Nespresso coffee and lots of goodies. They did a great job and we loved it. 5 Stars for the new owners!!!!

Kent School Reunion @ The Firefly

Doesn't get any better than this.  Wonderful host, glorious setting, and comfortable beds.  Come for a day, stay for a week.  So much to enjoy -- walking trails, scenic drives, and some seriously good food.  Only an hour and a half from NYC.  Swimming, fishing and hiking all nearby.  The Inn is in Kent, so easy to walk a few blocks for some amazing food and treats.

 Try it, you'll love it.  The Inn is beautifully appointed  -- you'll feel as if you've been transported to the home of an upscale friend who loves having company.    All Covid-related  precautions observed, so you're safe.

Heavenly escape from Covid-Confinement, 90min from NYC

Beautiful B&B right in the Heart of "Downtown". Very clean and well appointed. The King sized bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Frankly, if I had a bigger car, I would have taken it Home and had the Proprietor bill me for it.

Speaikg (typing) of the Proprietor, Peter Starbuck, is a great Host...and the Blueberry Pancakes he served up are "World Famously"  deliciousness.

I will absolutely make plans to revisit. It's a great spot.

The Original Starbuck!

Peter Starbuck is a preeminent host and serves one of the best breakfasts you could want.  He is a great conversationalist and his Inn - The Starbuck Inn, was perfect.  Immaculately maintained, very comfortable and his black lab, Camille was friendly and entertaining.  We highly recommend him.

The BEST Place to Stay in Kent, Connecticut

Peter is a great host! The inn is such a wonderful place. It is clean and comfortable. We stayed on the ground floor with a separate door connecting to a beautiful backyard. We especially enjoyed the homemade breakfast by Peter. So fresh and delicious. This is a place you can relax and enjoy. I would definitely recommend.

UNBEATABLE

My wife and I stayed for three nights here at the end of August. After four days in NYC, we were ready for something a bit quieter and more relaxed. The Starbuck Inn and Kent, CT turned out to be an excellent choice. Our room was spotlessly clean, beautifully and thoughtfully furnished, spacious and comfortable. The same goes for all of the Inn, including a lovely living room. Peter, the owner, is an excellent host, willing and able to give assistance and suggestions on anything you might want to do. Having attended one of the schools in the area and since returned to run the Inn, Peter is an excellent source of information on local history and goings-on. He also serves up a wonderful breakfast every morning using some of the great local produce from the area. 
The Inn itself is on Main Street with an easy walking distance to the range of restaurants, shops and facilities that Kent has. For a small town, it doesn't lack anything and we left after three days with plenty left to do and places were already wanted to go back to. Having visited a number of the other small towns nearby, we were glad we chose Kent as our base. 
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed everything about the Starbuck Inn and wouldn't hesitate for a minute to return.

Superb Inn in a superb little town

We were greeted warmly by our host/owner Peter Starbuck, snacked immediatlly on the cheese, crackers, yes and even macaroons offered as we had skipped lunch. Peter showed us to our wonderful room, advised us about local stores and restaurants. The whole house was spotless, and beautiful. Enjoyed the back patio and watched the night sky late. Had a great breakfast cooked by our incredible innkeeper in the morning. Such a relaxing stay, we were able to walk and explore the town. We will return in the fall and will stay here again! Don't miss this gem if you are near Kent Ct.

Short wonderful getaway

We had a few days in Kent on our mother-daughter getaway; the Starbuck Inn was the perfect place to go.  The Inn was charming and comfortable, and Peter was both a gracious host and a wonderful chef.  The breakfasts and afternoon teas were warm and delicious. The Inn is well-located on Main street in walking distance to all the restaurants and shops.  Peter was immensely knowledgeable about Kent and local history, and made some excellent suggestions for activities.  All in all a perfect few days; we would highly recommend.
