We had a fantastic time. Everything was a perfect  relaxing fun mini vacation. Wish we didn't have to leave. We will be back every year. We learned how to kyack. Free kyack and canoes.  Cooperstown attractions were awesome.  Can't wait for spring, we'll be back 

Awesome cabins,  they make it feel like home 

Awesome place. The staff was so nice and accommodating. We came for a poultry show and I booked this place even though it was about 40 minutes away, bc we wanted to get a little vacation out of it. This lovely place did not disappoint. I especially appreciated the free kayak and canoe rentals, and the staff was lovely. They also really accommodated us when we requested a different room (nothing wrong with first room, we just wanted a balcony.) My son loved the checkers out front and the game room and I loved the rockers and the balcony view, and like I mentioned, the canoe/kayaks. We will definitely be back and look forward to it. Thank you!

Great experience 

Great location, friendly staff. Quick walk to the water from the motel area. Kayaks to borrow. Close to the baseball hall of fame. Highly recommend. Plan on going back. Room had fridge. Ice close by.

Nice experience

We found this inn in a very great location and very convenient for family and couples. Very clean and comfortable!
We arrived past midnight and people here are very friendly, supportive and open to help anytime.

Very clean room, microwave and fridge in the room, friendly and helpful staff, nice little beach, fun game room, overall a great stay and a great value! We really enjoyed the stay with an 8 year old who had plenty to do! 

Excellent place to stay

What a great place to stay when visiting the Cooperstown area. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping, including the manager were very, very friendly. The rooms and cottages are comfortable, clean, well stocked with supplies and nicely organized.

I spent time in the lobby and game room and enjoyed, everything they had to offer including the beach and docks.

Don’t miss out on this gem of a place. 

Fantastic Accommodations at the Lake!

The rooms were a bit basic for $200 per night, and there was grime in the corners. The fluorescent lights were unpleasant.  The location is good, but swimming is better down the road a short drive. 

But the biggest issue was checkin. No other hotel this year has badgered me after using the expedia app for a deposit months in advance of my arrival. Because of this, I thought I'd paid, but happily paid the remainder at check in when presented with the details. However, the general manager took over the interaction, and snatched the room key out my hand, as I was leaving the front desk after a long journey. This physical altercation was violent enough to send my car keys flying across the lobby floor. When I responded to this aggression, she cancelled the reservation. Thereafter, she was verbally abusive for several minutes later until she calmed down and reinstated the  reservation. 

She berated me for her false perception of my "disrespect" to her staff member. 

I maintain her reactions were unprofessional and out-of-proportion to actual events. Cancelling someone's booking after a long journey in the high season, and sending them back on the road exhausted and alone is dangerous. 

She was trying to find out when my roommate would arrive (I was sharing a room with another friend of the bride) and I didn't have anything but an email address and couldn't answer her question. 

The conflict needn't have happened. She projected the sins of every difficult guest she's ever had, all over me, and put me and my guest at risk by this last minute cancellation.

Most folks will probably have a fine stay at the Bayside Inn & Marina, but I did not. I'm sure she'll have some excuse as to why this is all on me, but in the 25 hotels I patronized in 2022, this was the only instance of this kind of behavior.

Cancelled reservation at check in - Unprofessional

The room with 2 queen beds was in immaculate condition upon arrival.  You can tell that the owners take pride in their property due to their attention to detail.  The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and playing at the beach; they also loved the "old school" arcade and pool table.  The lobby/lounge is a great place to get out of your room and just hang out, especially if the weather is inclement.  We bought some meats at Price Chopper and then used the community grill.  We also took a canoe out for a spin on the lake.  Just do it!  When visiting Cooperstown, do yourself a favor and book this location.  Then drive down and park in a trolley lot for free, and let the trolley take you around town.  ($5.50 for a family pass trolley ticket for the day).  Thank you to the owners and staff for a wonderful stay!

The Best Family Hotel in Coopertown area

My husband and I stayed in Bayside Inn for one night.  Fabulous  location. 
The room was spacious and spotless . 
The bed was comfortable. 
The bathroom was plenty big with lots of lighting .  
There is a day room with lots of tables and chairs and microwave where you can bring back food and dine in comfort.  Also a large outdoor dining area . 
The girl on reception was very helpful. 
I would definitely recommend .

Less than two miles from Glimmerglass Opera and less than 10 minutes from Cooperstown, right on the shore of Lake Otsego with a swimming beach, kayaks and canoes. We enjoyed the lake views from our room. We appreciated the small fridge and microwave, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, and fast wifi service with plenty of convenient electrical outlets.  Ample parking onsite. Slight drawback, no breakfast or restaurant on-site. Try the price chopper market in town or excellent Cooperstown restaurants.
