This place is amazing!!!  We really relaxed and it was very quiet there.  We purchased the extra big space and it made it so no one was in our area.  Green hills and lots of trees surround it.  Saw a deer on the hillside during our stay.    The only downsides are there is no shade a the swimming pool and I don't like direct sun, and the lights in the park stay on all night and it is hard to see the sky and they shone in the camper all night.    

The owner is very sweet and is hard working and you can tell he loves this place.  

Relaxing!!

I can honestly say the only good thing about this campground is it is a trolley stop and the very nice counter girl. We arrived 45 minutes early and the were going to charge us an extra $30. We could see only 2 campers at the time and the manager would not budge. We were there for Kool Deadwood Nights and we’re pulling a fifth wheel camper and a 20’ car trailer behind that. I would think since the gouged campers for the week she could have made an exception. She was extremely agitated yelled at us to get out of the campground. So we had to pull our 75 foot train out and come back later. The bath house is in poor condition with the same broken plumbing from a year ago. Spots are also very close. Our neighbors septic was plugged in 5’ from our door. Gross!   Zero WI-FI as well. Far from a nice experience!  We are going VRBO next year. A cabin is nicer and less expensive than a dilapidated campground.

Horrible management

I didn’t want to have to write this review as we come here annually & truly love this special place. However it is needed. It’s time to hire additional staff. The cleaning on the property is so poor and the maintenance is not kept up. Little things like light bulbs and such totally neglected. Bathrooms with broken sinks & dirty dirty dirty. The bathroom may smell decent but is not clean. Especially the one down by the cabins. The back of the toilet hinges is cringe worthy. We tested to see if cleaned daily and they are not. Bathrooms need to be maintained through the day and SCRUBBED at least once daily with so many people using them. I was hoping it was just a rough time last year and would be better this year and I’m sorry to report it was not. The cabins are wonderful. They could use some De-webbing though and light bulbs. Please please please - hire the staff and get strict about the cleanliness of the facility. I don’t want to go elsewhere but it’s getting to that point. Especially when we bring people, it’s embarrassing to rave and be so disappointed.

Needs more attention

I’ll start by saying if you’re coming to Deadwood strictly for gambling at the casinos, you’re retired with a motorhome, or you’re coming to trail ride and spend little time at this campground, this one will work for you. However, if you’re a family with young children and enjoy spending time outside, you may want to find another campground to suit your needs. We travelled here for family vacation and ended up spending 2 nights - our first site we were assigned to, our slide out hung over our neighbors fire pit, the ground was unleveled so our stairs would not come out, nor would our door shut on our camper, and our site had no where to park as you “can’t park on the grass”. After asking the main office for an alternative, we were given another site with no picnic table, no fire-pit, and our stairs hung over a hill, so if our young children came out of the camper via the stairs, they’d take a tumble down the hill. Back to the office, we explained we wanted a picnic table/fire-pit because that’s what we payed for and we have young children so for safety this simply would not work. We were told with the Holiday weekend we were going to have neighbors and that they were booked full, but somehow managed to have a pull through site available. There were a dozen sites available that I counted during our 2 day stay. This site did work for us but was full of dog poop. We don’t have a dog. If we’re supposed to clean up after ourselves when we leave, I hold the campground to the same standards of checking the sites when people depart. The “quite time hours” didn’t mean anything considering the traffic coming and going at all hours of the night in their loud ATV’s, Motorcycles, or modified cars. Nothing these owners can say will justify their small sites and misinterpretation of their campground - no wonder they have a no refund policy. I can see that they probably get this a lot by talking to our neighbors and hearing they were just as disappointed. Save the hassle and take my advice, don’t camp here.

Save your money, find another campground

This is a great Rv campground with very friendly and accommodating staff.  They have washers and dryers and when you are done with laundry, the trolly stops right at their front door!  We love staying here every year!

Great RV campsite

Check in staff is wonderful.   They could not have been nicer.   The maintenance staff must do nothing.   Weeds everywhere.    The pet walks are filled with trucks and ATVs.   No trash receptacle anywhere.   Big hole in driveway and getting bigger.     The cabins don’t even have a mirror.   It just sad that the location is so awesome and the facility so neglected

It could be so nice!

First we arrived a little early and we were told that we can't check in, then she stated that if we paid her 30.00 early fee we could check in. Second the sites are narrow and short and uneven with no parking at our site, I was at the edge of a small cliff. I parked across the street. Third the water faucets exceed 60 psi if you don't have a restricted you rise breaking your plumbing. Fourth they claim wifi but we were unable to connect. TV is nonexistant in most areas of the campground and those that could only had 2 channels.
      I can't review any others in this area but as someone who has hit 21 campgrounds this trip all I can honestly state is this is the bottom of all 21 we have stayed at so far.

Over rated on good sam 

The check-in staff was having a bad day or maybe he just hates his job. He needs to find other employment. Did not like the two experience with him and did not go back to the office during our multiply night stay.  

Our site was not very level. A skid steer, a bucket of gravel and fifteen minutes and it would be level. We used leveling blocks to compensate but a little effort on park staff could resolve the problem. After our check-in experience and a later visit to the office, I decided not to darken the office again.

Traveler

We are here for 5 days and are 2 days into our trip. If anything changes, I’ll update the review but I had to give our experience so far because of the negative reviews I read before arriving. 

When we checked in it was quick, easy, and very friendly!  Did not experience or have we had any of the staff be rude to us. 

We are in campsite 323 and our friends are in 324. We both have 41 ft. motorhomes and we both towed enclosed trailers. Our trailer is 24 ft and our friends 28 ft. The trailer doesn’t fit in the pull thru but we dropped them in a overflow area in front of our motorhomes without any problem. Yes the spots are narrow but we’ve stayed in a lot tighter spots. We have room to let out 3 slides, outdoor kitchen and we’re able to open the compartments on the RV. We had space to grill out and enjoy the beautiful scenery around us. 

Yes the WiFi isn’t working well at our spot and our directtv dish isn’t picking up but we had shows on our dvr before we arrived and are able to watch those but have only used it very little. I’m one who is outside of my comfort zone without at tv at night while falling asleep but like I said we are able to watch the DVR so it’s not been a problem at all for us or our friends. 

We brought our ATV’s and found awesome trails right here by us in the campground to enter. It’s beautiful here and we would ￼￼definitely not hesitate to stay here again.

Awesome time!

Owner of campground is horrible.  We arrived  (4 total RV's) an hour early as there check in is 1pm.  The owner was in the office and told me if we wanted to check in an hour early we had to pay $30 each.  I asked her where we could park for an hour and she said "not here, you can be on site"   We moved to a parking lot about a mile away for an hour.  When we returned,  there was only one young lady working in the office with a long line of people checking in.   
They show wifi included, but if you get more than 50 feet from the office, the wifi is non existent.  

Sites are very narrow and  not long.  A couple of people staying there had their tow vehicles in front to their travel trailers but the front of the  tow vehicle was in the street.  I saw the owner yelling at them to move their trucks to the parking area down near the office area.
