To start with, the room itself was very basic, clean and warm.  There as a fridge, microwave and small table in the room. My problem was getting into the room. There is no one on site to help, and you have to scroll through texts and emails for support numbers. Even then, they communicate through texts (until things got pretty dicey, then they called me).  Via text, I was assigned a room and provided with a door code. The key pad was dead, a blinking red battery icon. I reached out for support, and the person at the other end of a support text just sent me the same instructions again, how to put in the code with a link back to the hotel website.  I finally got the person to understand that the pad was dead, so they sent me on late night adventure to find the back up key. As a lone female traveler, I did not feel safe.  The woman at the other end of the phone explained that they did not receive a signal that the key pad was dead, and also stated they'd need to update the back up instructions. I hope they do fix that so that no one else goes through this. I did not feel safe. During my search for the "office" I ended up in another guest room that apparently had the same door code as the door to the are that had the key.  The security seems poor.

Would not recommend to a friend. Nice room, poor procedure to get into the room.

This was the absolute nicest stay! We needed a quick stop while traveling and you could tell this place was above an beyond for a “motel”. There were so many incredible features like modern decor, an extremely comfortable bed/bedding, and all the comforts of home. Everything was spotless and up to date. There was a common area close by with everything we needed. We took a paper bowl, a fishing magazine and a bag of herbal tea. All things that were above an beyond to be provided for such a great priced room. A few other notable things were the air fryer provided in the common area and the air purifier in our room! We both have bad allergies and the air purifier was amazing. We ended up buying the same one on Amazon. Over all this was a great stay for the price and could tell someone put their heart and sold into the place. 10/10 would recommend if passing through.

Amazing 🤩

How disappointing! You can no longer reserve through the actual hotel. You use a management company that doesn’t take action right away. The prices have gone WAY up, especially with fees added.  My room had a bedside lamp and a tiny reading light. No overhead lights by the coffee and refrigerator. One of the bulbs was burned out in the bathroom.  The towels were “clean” and folded fancy but had permanent stains on them.  The bed has a sheet and a Sherpa well used heavy comforter. I kept getting up to turn the air on and off because I was cold. All in all, even though this is the only hotel in East Jordan, I do not recommend. It’s unfortunate that this quaint and local motel has changed. 

Why the management change???????

Place was cozy and clean but there’s no on-site staff and check in was a nightmare. Code didn’t work, random guy from across the street who “works on it sometimes” gave me a master code in front of like four strangers so I could get in. Afterwards while at a wedding I received a text apologizing for double booking and that I couldn’t stay and I’d get a refund. Very odd experience

Awkward

Booked thru Expedia and they failed to notify the motel of the booking(?). I made these reservations in February and even double checked that the reservation were  active 5 days prior. They assured me they were. Needless to say, we arrived and no reservations! Someone screwed up. We had to drive 4 hrs home😡

Buyer beware

Stayed at the motel with friends and we had a great visit.  Owner was very friendly and helpful.  We stayed in family suite which has plenty of room and enjoyed dinner at picnic table (owner brought gas grill out for us to use).    Loved the sound of the brook and view of the lake from our room.  Will definitely stay again

Wonderful stay

What a wonderful little motel.. If you want everything new and modern this isn’t your place, but if you want clean and comfortable for sure check this place out !Enjoyed sitting out on the picnic table and looking at the lake. A wonderful base camp for our fall travels!

Home style comfort

Clean and quiet Michigan Motel.  The location was perfect for us as we were visiting family in the area so the motel offered serenity at the of the day.  Nice little outdoor seating area right outside our room #2 and there was a fire pit across the street right on the lake.

The owner Dominic, has went above and beyond to help our company out. We have a special project going on, we have 9 people staying up in East Jordan. Dominic has been awesome on making sure we have rooms for our workers. Very clean rooms, and close to town. The view is amazing being right across the bay. Would highly recomend anyone to stay here.

Very nice place

We had a wonderful stay.  The owner/manager, Dominic, could not do enough to help accommodate us.  The beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the scenery, with views of the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, are tremendous.  This motel is somewhat like those of years ago, where the people are family friendly and the room was so cozy.  We were treated very well, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay.
