We have stayed at lots of
Motel 6 ‘s over many years. We pick them for the cheap prices but mostly because we have dogs which they allow. This particular one is the nicest one we have ever found. The rooms are very clean with cute coverlets and of course have the microwave and refrigerator in the rooms. It’s close to lots of restaurants but the niceness of the rooms is what sold us. Stephen who checked us in was a sweetheart and fun chatting with. He is a very good employee! Very happy with this place!

Great price and very clean

Very very dirty but super affordable. Fairly safe area, close to many food options, and a planet fitness. Also am Aldi!! Right off the interstate. An hour from St. Louis. If you want to save money, bring shower shoes, DO NOT touch anything, and bring a blanket to sleep on top of the bed, light switches are grimy. Walls paper thin, crumbs and dirt on desk, muddy prints in bathroom, and hair in the tub. Toilet has not been flushed let alone cleaned. And the non smoking room smelled like smoke. If you have a black card for planet fitness I would shower there with your shower shoes. Great place to save money!

Cheap but filthy

Room was nasty so must dust everything. The bedding had stains all over em and looked nasty. Had no ice bucket no microwave plate. The bathroom needs alot of bathroom cleaner and a good magic eraser to it.would not stay again

Nasty

We booked here due to location and the fact that they accepted pets with no fee. After having been on the road for 16 hours, we just wanted a bed to sleep in.  The place is a literally disgusting. My son immediately found a cigarette burn on the bedding. Turned down his sheets to find an actually cigarette! The sheets hadn’t even been changed. You could tell where someone had slept in them. We immediately repacked and relocated to another hotel. I would not recommend ANYONE stay here unless you enjoy sleeping in the same unwashed linens as a stranger. 

Room Hadn’t Even Been Cleaned

My wife and I booked a room for 2 nights. When we get there at midnight none of our keycards worked for our assigned room so the move us two rooms down. Two days after we left we noticed this econolodge charged us for both rooms when we only stayed in the second room. We've called and called for the past 2 weeks and can never get in touch with a manager and all they will do is take our name and number and say "we'll have the manager call you back". Once we finally got in contact with the manager she said she would refund us the $115.40 but we have never been refunded. I called their corporate office and they are no help either. Worst motel I have ever stayed at and is extremely outdated.

Will Rob you blind

Room was not clean, shower dirty (curtain stained, vent full of dirt,..).  Unsavory characters hanging out outside. 
 You certainly get what you pay for  - good price but not recommended even at the good price. YUCK!! 

Not even worth the low price to stay here

The cleaning of this place is little to non existent. Every where you go its filthy and they don't seem to care. The swimming pool is unusable, full of algae and the breakfast area just as bad. I refused to eat there, afraid of what might be in the food. The room was supposed to be non smoking but it stunk so bad I had to ask them to spray the room. The front desk clerk at 6:30am looked like she just shot up, you can see the needle mark and swollen vein and her jitteriness while getting me change. It also appeared that this place was home for prostitutes and drug dealers.  I know you get what you pay for and thought maybe that it wouldn't be that bad being in little old Effingham IL,  but..... wrong. Very uncomfortable stay.

Dirt is king here

When we checked in the lady working was so funny. We had a couple issues with the door but you can tell they are old. They quickly came to our rescue. Room was very clean for the older building. The stairs we're a little scary. The concrete was starting to crack. 
Otherwise the all the staff was nice and professional

Oh yeah ECONOLODGE

This was the scariest place I have ever seen. Honestly wish I had thougjt to take pictures. But really just wanted out of there. The room had no chain lock. The room also had an adjoining room which had no lock. The curtains on the giant picture window starting inches above the floor and going to the ceiling didn't close all the way. I said to my traveling companion... This is the room people disappear from. Only to turn up in some creeps freezer months later. Didnt even put my bags down. Got our money back and high tailed it...

Sketchy

This hotel has black mold, bed bugs, drug dealers/addict and a drunk manager. Complete an utter ****hole for health reasons do not stay here. Here Is a picture of the black mold in the breakroom and a pillow from the pool room used under the leaking sink.
