Enid

Recently spent a couple nights at the Country Inn by Radisson on Mill Run Road and found this to be a good property around Enid. Reservation was made through booking.com. Payment was processed upon arrival, they have luggage storage if needed, a comfortable lobby seating area and plenty of parking in front and behind the hotel. 

The property includes a gym (not operational during our stay), small indoor pool, laundry machines on the ground floor as well as breakfast that comes with the room. It was your standard roadside hotel breakfast with coffee and a few juice options. 

Room was in nice condition, furnishing more modern than the Country Inn by Radisson in OKC that I stayed the previous week. Bed comfy, plenty of space for luggage, mini-fridge, microwave, ironing board, iron, hair dryer, bathroom was fine, TV, Wifi, A/C all worked just fine. It was a nice, functional room, just what is expected of Country Inn. 

Good roadside hotel option in Enid

When we checked in our room had a/c issues,
namely not cooling. Room temp was 80 degrees. We were moved to a smaller room for the night with the promise of our king suite in the morning. They were true to their promise and by 10:30 we were moving into our room. House cleaning was very speedy to clean our room and make it ready for us. To top it off the manager agreed to credit our first night since we had to move twice. Excellent customer care.

Enjoyed our stay

There was much to like about this property.  Safe, well lit parking areas in front of and behind the hotel. Lovely, well lit lobby/breakfast area with various seating options/areas.  Often had cookies available, and coffee/tea were always available, plus apples/oranges and flavored water.  We had a one bedroom suite, which is a bit of a misnomer as there isn't a door to the bedroom, just an opening.  It did provide some separation from a small sitting area with tv/desk at the entry.  We ha a fridge, microwave and coffee maker.  Bed was comfortable - pillows less so.  Plenty of lamps for reading, and both electric plug ins and usb ports on each side of the bed.  A second tv opposite the bed, and drawers and closet for clothes storage.  Elevator is pretty slow, so we used the stairs.  Our room was generally quiet.  This hotel seems to serve a number of baseball and other teams, so there was occasionally some hall noise from those guests.  Biggest complaint was the bathroom.  It is too small for more than one person to get ready at a time, and there is no fan, so after a shower the mirror is all fogged.  The curtain is pretty short, and if you aren't careful, the floor gets a shower also.  Vanity is nice with under-storage and toiletries are also nice.  The biggest issue is that there is nowhere in the entire suite to hang a towel or washcloth.  Not a hook on the bathroom door, not a towel ring, not a single bar.  WE had to use the top of the open closet door, the desk chair, or tv.  In OK, things don't dry well anyway....and housekeeping with fresh towels is every three days.  We asked for fresh towels but never received them.  This would seem to be pretty easy to fix.  Breakfast had plenty of choices;  coffee is pretty weak but that seems to be a midwestern thing.

Solid stay in Enid

8 days not once new bedding . Had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper. Room key quit working 3 times. Continental breakfast had limited protein options. Was really hit and miss on the food. Only emptied the trash if we left it in the hall.  


Service was terrible

ROACH MOTEL!!! I had a room there last weekend. Upon check in, staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was on the top floor. I must say I'm 99% sure the first bed did not have clean sheets. You could literally see where someone had laid on one side and was all wrinkled. The other side was nice and smooth and straight. OK, but I couldn't prove that and don't like to complain...we chose to hope we were wrong. The next morning we were getting ready and my mother noticed a bug. The closer I got I noticed it was a COCKROACH! A full grown GERMAN cockroach!!! Those are like the worst ones to have. I took a picture and killed it so I could show staff. While taking that picture I see that there was another full grown roach close to it that was already dead and hadn't been cleaned up. I wish I could upload the pics! Anyway...I went down to show staff and the manager was very nice, but didn't act even a bit surprised when I told her. She told me she was going to make it right with me. I didn't ask what that meant, but was on my way out so I figured I'd deal with it later. Later on that day while checking my bank account I didn't see the hotel charges, so I thought maybe she reversed the charges and comp'd the room. Not the case, I see they are back on my account now. I paid  $190 for a roach infested room and she definitely did NOT make it right. I haven't even brought my luggage and things in the house in fear of roaches being in there and then infesting my house. Imagine how bad this hotel must be if there is that many roaches in one room on the top floor... how many are in the kitchen on the bottom floor? I really wasnt going to leave a review because I thought she had made an effort to rectify the situation and I'm not trying to ruin business. But seriously I would NEVER spend $190 to sleep in a roach motel.

Cockroaches

Night staff was poor and did not assist with needs. TV and phone in the room did not work. Breakfast was good, hotel was clean. I’ve stayed at this location before and had better service. Wish the staff was not on their phones and could have responded to my needs.

It was a good experience for the most part. I did see a small cockroach in our room. Other than that the room was clean and neat. The breakfast was good and hot and well laid out. The A/C unit in our room was non adjustable for some reason but it was quite comfortable where it was set. 

Staying in Enid

We chose to stay here because my husband had stayed overnight several years ago after a family members funeral and knew it was good even though old. We were visiting the same family members as before, in town on our way to another destination. I verified the ratings of course on Trip Advisor as I always do. The room we had was standard and nice. Clean is important to me and I was very happy. We called to let the desk clerk know we would be there by 9:00 and Heather was very sweet/nice when we checked in. The morning desk clerk (forgot to get her name - sorry) also allowed us to extend our stay for a late check out at noon because we were meeting the same family for early breakfast in the morning and no time to load up. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Overnight stay to visit local family

i would recommend anyone to stay, very polite and friendly access to shopping and hospital, plenty to do in the area as many are too far out of town. I feel like the parking and stuff very convenient/
