We were in #14. I slept all night, I never do that! Very clean, priced great and pet friendly. Breakfast was simple but just fine. Quiet. Couldn’t ask for more! We had seen this place many times, decided to try it.

Quaint!

For the price found the hotel to be just fine.  Room was small but clean.  Shower was just remodeled.  Fridge and microwave in room.  Chair outside door for sitting outside.  Property outside was well maintained, lawn mowed and flowers.  Allows pets and found no pet waste anywhere on property.  Either customers are clean with pets or the owners are.  Right on highway 9 so does have traffic noise if your room is on the highway side.  Breakfast items are limited, but for the price, we were surprised there was breakfast offered.  Breakfast room was clean and items well stocked.

Never been to Spirit Lake so wanted to drive up, spend the night and look around.

This hotel is dated, but priced right for the sportsmen that only shower and sleep in the room.  Beds are comfy and the shower had plenty of hot water.  The breakfast was limited to packaged rolls and cold cereal. I would stay there again.

Northland Inn Spirit Lake

Have stayed here for a week of pheasant hunting for 10 years. New owners Sonny and wife Peggy are friendly and accommodating. Driving straight through from MD our rooms have always been ready when we arrive at 9ish in the morning. The rooms are clean and sizeable for 2 hunters and their gear, any more then that would get a bit cramped. Heated game cleaning shed also doubles as our dog feeding place (4-5 dogs). Ample parking for our dog trailer away from the rooms, freezer for our birds and simple breakfast bar more then handle our needs. Really no need to look elsewhere when visiting Spirit Lake!

Clean and comfortable rooms, very dog friendly, breakfast bar, game cleaning shed (with heat), freezer for game available. 
Centrally located very close to public hunting areas.
Current owner has been updating rooms.
Definitely will be returning in the near future. Almost feels like home.



Hunters Welcome

I had read mediocre reviews on this place, but it was reasonable, so I booked it. The rooms are pretty decent for an economy hotel, and the furnishings not near as old as some people would want you to believe. The place is about 3-4 miles out of town, but close enough that food delivery is still available. The free breakfast didn't serve hot food, but they had microwave sandwiches and a pretty decent selection of food *better than most budget hotels). The husband and wife who run it were friendly. They have a nice picnic/grill/bonfire area in the back. I didn't use it since we were here in the off season, but would have had it been a little warmer. I was pleasantly surprised how well and fast the internet was in the room too! The only thing I would complain about (which is small) is the TV was about the size of my computer monitor. They have a microwave and fridge in the room, which, again, is not common in private-owned motels. If I was ever back this way, I woul 100% stay here again. 

If you are here in the off-season, I highly recommend calling the hotel to book directly. Although I got a decent price, I saw that it could have been even less.
