Great basic motel.  Very clean and well kept.  Super friendly and helpful front desk staff.  Well worth the low price given the ratings of the competition.  It was a 5 minute drive, if that, from the University of Oregon.

Frendly Staff Clean rooms

I came in from the coast for a concert at the Hult Center, and chose Downtown Inn because it was within walking distance at a good price. I wasn't expecting anything special and was impressed with the extras in the room: not only a microwave and minifridge/freezer but also an ironing board and iron along with a table and two chairs in addition to the desk. I've been in a lot more expensive, larger rooms that didn't have any practical place to sit down and eat a meal or play cards or whatever. Best of all, the room did NOT reek of fragrance. In fact it was not fragranced at all. And everything was squeaky clean. The heating/cooling system did leave a little to be desired, as another reviewer mentioned, but I'm giving the place five stars anyway because in every other respect it was perfect. I feel as if I've stumbled on a treasure, and I look forward to my next stay.

This is a standard motel with clean rooms and nice staff. The bed is fine. The problem is in the title. Each room has an individual heating/aircon unit in the wall that makes a lot of noise. Maybe I’ve spent to much time in hotels outside the US, but there are much quieter and more efficient ways to heat and cool. 

Why can’t they have quiet heaters?

Stay for 2 nights at Downtown Inn staff snd owner went above and beyond what was required to ensure our stay was great. Rooms were very clean. Any issues were tooking care of in a vrry timely fashion. I will definitely stay here if im in Eugeme again

I like a room where there is no one above or below me so this one story inn with parking at the front door fit my needs. The rooms are small but super clean with all the amenities I expect from a AAA rated property. There was free wifi, a mini fridge, and a microwave and the decor was refreshingly simple.There was a super clean, breakfast room with enough choices to get a good start on the day.The staff was welcoming, and the property was well maintained inside and out. It's in an excellent downtown location within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. I'll be back.

Super clean, reasonably priced, one story motor inn.

So enjoyed our stay here.  Surprised at how nice our room was considering the price. 
Wonderful staff, very clean room, very comfortable bed, excellent value for your money.
Would heartily recommend to anyone without reservation.

Hidden gem in Eugene

Do you want a chain?  Or a pool?  This is not for you.  But if you want a clean, centrally located facility, single story, with parking right in front of your room - this is your place.  The rooms have recently been redone, and the color palette used is soft, calming and pleasing.  Also of interest, maybe only to seniors, is that there is a full length grab bar in the bath/shower.  The continental breakfast will get you out the door and on your way.  The rate is extremely reasonable too.

affordable, clean and centrally located

Wanted to stay here with friends from out of town, was denied because I'm from Eugene and we're "riff-raff". Had to use my friends ID to book - talk about embarrassing! If you don't live between Corvallis and Cottage Grove, you can book, I was told. Discrimination at its finest

Riff-raff

Great for folks on the move looking for simple clean safe place for the night.  Nothing luxurious but head and shoulders above the previous place we rejected because of a sharp distinctive unpleasant chemical odor.

Ideal for the casual traveler not looking for luxury or anything fancy

The Downtown Inn is located about 10 minutes (walk) from downtown Eugene. It is simple but comfortable and the rooms, of normal size and furnished functionally, are equipped with all the facilities: TV, coffee machine, stir-fry, phon and body products. The bed is quite comfortable, courtesy welcome, quick service and free parking (not guarded). Good quality/price ratio.
