Once my son secured a spot in the Regional Championships for prep wrestling to be held in Englewood, I quickly booked a room for the first night of a two day tournament for myself and my husband through Expedia. Mind you, this was a short notice reservation, and before the local inns had gotten wind of the influx of demand for rooms in a typically non-peak season. (My son's team needed to book a block of rooms 20 minutes away from the venue since Englewood isn't exactly a booming metropolis.) I secured my reservation on 2/20 for 2/27. On 2/22 I received two messages out of the blue: one from Expedia saying "Sorry your plans have changed" and with a link button for "Is this correct? YES-NO" I hit "NO" and it said, "Enjoy your stay." The second message from was from Englewood Bay in an email saying that my reservation was cancelled at my request. That was absolutely incorrect, and I immediately phoned the motel's number.  It was a property management company and the message said they would return my call as soon as possible.  I scrambled to try and rebook the same room, and it now said there was a three night minimum stay.  Nice, huh? They never called me back, despite my requests they provide PROOF via an incoming phone call record, email, or some other communication.  Since they simply cancelled my reservation in an unscrupulous move to try and squeeze more money out of people, it wound up costing me MORE money. The accommodation I ultimately booked went up significantly in price from the time I was booking on 2/20 until the time they reneged on my booked room. If you want to book a reservation and be sure the place will honor said reservation, steer clear of these jackwagons. Expedia's representative got nowhere with them as well, as they simply don't answer their phones and don't respond to messages.

And if Englewood Bay has the AUDACITY to try and author some sort of fictitious response to my true and provable account, tread carefully. I am the type to pursue my grievance in a small claims court. I have the receipts.

Back for a third consecutive year!

I can't say enough about this place:
Clean, newly renovated, convenient location to shopping and beach, friendly staff.
This little gem is perfect for a mid-winter escape from New England.
I already have my room reserved for next year.
HIGHLY recommend.

I just want to get back to all, I received the bill from AMEX, I called AMEX to put in a claim, I told them what happen, and they are not paying the bill!  The funny thing the person at the desk only charged my card for one night not two. THAT WAS THE WHOLE PROBLEM. If she was charging me for one night I would have stayed. Hopefully THE OWNERS REPLACE HER WITH SOMEONE WITH A LITTLE CLASS!

This motel is a r[p off!

We enjoyed our stay in a 2 bdrm apartment. It is on a residential street and only 5 minutes from the beach. It was very well kept inside and out and had everything we needed. Sad we couldn’t enjoy the beach due to the Red Tide. 

Super clean and nicely decorated

I made reservations for two nights, I called two day before to cancel one night, but got the answering machine it said to leave a message and they would get back in 24 hours, but no one called me, so I called the next day and left another message and an email and again no reply. When I arrived at the motel the next day a person at the desk said I have to pay for the two nights, she there policy says they need 48 hour cancellation. I knew nothing about a 48 hour cancellation? I told her I will not pay for two nights. I will spend one night. She said she will change my card for the two nights. Weather I stay or go. So I left and found another motel. So if you don’t want to get ripped off find another motel I did. The owners should find a desk person with some class.

This motel is a rip-off

The motel has 8 well decorated, very cleans rooms with kitchen services and it is just north of downtown Englewood and about two miles from the beaches.  The owner is friendly.  I certainly will return and recommend this moderately priced motel.

Convenient Englewood location close to beaches

We were guests here last year, and Nina and Kris, the hosts, have made this motel a real treasure chest. You never feel like you're going to a motel, but it's a stay with friends. Nina's kindness makes it easy to ask for tips for the environment, and other problems can be helped immediately. We're looking forward to seeing you again today.

Repeat offenders

A very beautifully renovated German-owned motel with various accommodations. We had a very nice, large apartment in a duplex with everything the guest needs. Fully furnished and equipped kitchen, bedroom, living room and bathroom. The premises are relatively small, quiet and familiar, there is a beautiful indoor garden that invites you to stay. There are several tables with sufficient seating and sunscreens, as well as a large gas grill that you can use for free. The gas bottles are always checked out and possibly replaced with gas, that is always there. There is a washing machine and a dryer for a small use. The owners of the motel, Nina and the owner of the house, even if they are not in a crisis, can always give everything in place, and even if everything is free of gas, they can give it to Nina.

A relaxed stay with great hosts

We were here for 10 days, everything very clean, nicely furnished, good kitchen equipment with stove, bakery, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. There are plenty of fresh towels, soap tapes and shower towels available, as well as an initial supply of dishwashers, soap, filter and trash bags and toilet paper. There is a wonderful garden area with 3 generous seating groups where we have breakfast every morning. Manager Jennifer is always kind and helpful. These are the very friendly German owners, Nina and Chris, who try to keep their house as comfortable as possible. So, B.B. Baywood, we can also come to this wonderful motel, and if we are willing to go back to the motel, we can also get a free ride.

Very nice motel, great price to performance ratio

The best motel on our trip to Florida, cozy, comfortable, very clean, very friendly reception. The beautiful interior invites you to relax. Good luck! The place is not crowded with mass tourism.
