First of all I can only give you MY experience:
Got to the room, pulled back the sheets and there were long, black hairs between the fitted and flat sheets. We chalked it up as mistakes happen, people shed, it's whatever.... and then we went to use the bathroom  🤦 
Just view the pictures for yourself before making a decision... absolutely gross. Once discovered, the front desk acted like we were putting him out by wanting clean sheets and room. Mind you it was 1:30 am, after working a 16hr day, asking for new sheets, and receiving some that didn't even fit the bed...AND having to remake my own bed,.not to mention the 3rd attempt to make it right, he replied (quote) "You gotta let me get some sleep man" (end quote).   THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE HOTEL/MOTEL EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED...EVER!     do your research people.

NEVER AGAIN ‼️

We just spent our 4th visit with Suwannee Gables. So wonderful and the weather was perfect. Our dog loved it, too. Love your new pillows. Going on a non-holiday week made all the difference. We will be back. 

Autumn

Spent the day in Homosassa FL and were looking for a place to stay last minute on our way home. Stumbled upon this gem. Very 1970’s, which means it has character. Room is a good size and very clean!  The back of the hotel is wonderful. Right on the water, picnic facilities, covered areas, grills, fire pit, large lawn area and amazing views of the Suwannee River. And there’s a marina next door. We’re scouting places to go scalloping this summer. This hotel so far is #1 on the list.

Hidden Gem in Old Town, FL

Visiting a relative in the area for a week but wanted some privacy.  So many motels on that stretch of road but glad I chose S.G. over the others. Room was quiet and clean, what I wanted, and the owner very friendly. Got a better rate for a one week stay.

Good choice on Route 19

The motel is very well cared for and the owner is pleasant and friendly. Our room was one of the newly-renovated rooms on the North end and had a private balcony. Cleanliness was above par, and we enjoyed a good night's sleep on the comfortable bed.

Great Motor-Court, Don't Miss It!

We had the joy of spending Labor Day vacation at Suwannee Gables and Marina, at Old Town, FL.
They allowed us to bring our pets and we could take them anywhere, except the pool. 
They had so much fun. Quiet, peaceful and safe. Family owned, went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous. Great local restaurants, friendly people.
I think we found a new get-away place. Thank you! ❤

Labor Day

I called for a reservation and was told they were selling out and had 2 rooms left. I was also told they have renovated the rooms.
We arrived and found the room very small and not renovated. The first night we saw a spider on the floor which I took care of but found spider webs on the top of the lamp shades.
The next day we took showers and the bathtub did not drain. A walk out to the riverfront dock found an inaccessible dock because the walkway was submerged under water. That night there was another bug, possibly a cricket on the floor I took care of.
The third day of course the shower again failed to drain for half a day.
Upon departure date, my significant other woke up with a palmetto bug (large roach) on her hand. This woke us both up. I could not get the roach because it went behind bed that was not moveable.
Unless they clean and maintain this motel, I will never stay here again.

Suwannee Gables Motel

We were very close to many springs which is why we came to Florida. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms. It was nice and clean. There was a pool in the front that our kids loved swimming in and the Suwannee River ran behind the motel. We enjoyed walking down to the dock and enjoying the view. We would stay again if we visited the area in the future.

We were looking for a stopping place near Manatee Springs State Park.  The reviews were mixed, but not a lot of choices in this area.
The desk person was very nice. This is an older motel with some updates, but not a lot. The room could be much cleaner, the bed was hard.  The shower had very little pressure OR hot water.   The remote battery was dead and we could not change the channel even manually on the TV.  We also could not get on the wifi ever even after calling him.  We did not ask for new batteries as this didn't seem like that kind of service would occur at this place.. We walked to look at the river which was underwhelming.   We did swim in the pool which was pretty enjoyable.   I would say would not stay here again and definitely not worth $100 per night. 

Not "vintage" just old...

It was late and I was tired after being on the road for a long time when I came across this nice and reasonably priced motel.  My room was clean and very comfortable and as an added bonus it is beautifully landscaped and situated directly on the magnificent Suwannee River.  The owner is very friendly and helpful in directing you to local points of interest and a really good breakfast across the road at Mommas Dixie Kitchen.  I would definitely go back!
