Warning...stay away for months. Just visited and they are completely redoing all the rooms. Currently doing all the carpeting; was told that they will next be remodeling all the bathrooms; then painting inside rooms, and doing new beds and furniture. So, unless, you really like hearing all the noise while you've paid their high prices, and you've come for a quiet, relaxing time, best stay away. When we made the reservations and when we checked in, no one said anything about all the remodeling. Only when we heard hammering and other equipment, the first morning, did we realize something was going on. We won't go back for at least a year. So...beware.

Stay Away! Construction Zone!

My husband and I were interested in staying on the waterfront. Chose this hotel as so many others were sold out of their water view rooms. Front desk manager very nice. No discounts nor breakfast. Mentioned that there were ongoing renovations so he chose the section that had the most done. Second floor room. Amazing views. Nice and quiet. Old pink carpeting with a step up bedding area. New furniture that others have mentioned. Not  to our taste but then I’m not living with it. The bed and linens very comfortable. Room very clean. However- Get rid of the old gold label hotel cups. Jacuzzi tub and bathroom all need total overhaul. All and all a good nights sleep.

the room i requested was change i requested a suite with fire place and jacuzzi tub i got neither they said they only have one then your on line add is fraudulent and the desk person a man was very rude he asked for my conformation i handed him my copy when we where done i asked if he could throw that away he told me Thay had trash cans out side coffee machine didn't work left a day early not at all impressed with this motel the cleaning ladies were nice

don't go there this place is terrible

My husband and I stayed at Ocean View in Fort Bragg CA. Our visit was heavenly. We stayed 2 nights, Aug. 23 thru 25th. The ocean view is breath taking. When we go to Fort Bragg once a year we always stay at Ocean View. 
The staff was extremely pleasant. Especially Mandy, Mo and Greg.
The decor has been changed. New beds, dressers, chairs(inside and outside chairs). Our room was beautiful and clean. The mattress and pillows were also new and comfortable. We have visited Ocean View for nearly 7 years. 
 Anyone who visits Fort Bragg should stay at Ocean View. You can walk to the beach along the Pudding Creek Bridge. My husband and I recommend the Pudding Creek Bridge. Fort Bragg is a relaxing place to visit.



Update 2023 Birthday Celebration

As of late August 2023, the picture of a room on TripAdvisor does not show you what the rooms look like now.  BIG changes have happened.

We’ve been coming here for a while, and the new owners had started to make much needed changes here.  Then we arrived in August 2023 to find massive changes in the furniture taking place…. As far as we’re concerned, the new furniture is massive, cheap, gaudy, pretentious, over bearing, and just down right ugly.  The first room they tried to put us in had a bed frame that was cracked - nope, not gonna get blamed for that!  Moved to a second room - wow, what a let down!  

This place used to boast spacious rooms - but the rooms are now filled with golden colored huge furniture pieces, from massive head frames to oversized tv cabinets.  Even in the second room we moved to, there were dents and evidence of the furniture being used - new to this place, but definitely used somewhere else before.

We were shown a nice display of what a future remodel will do to this place - if you like gaudy, gold colored, crappy furniture and over the top decor, this will be your go to spot for sure.  For us, we won’t be back.

New owners - new remodel coming - no.  Just no.  We won’t be back.

What really made the room was the view.  Otherwise, the room was not special.  We expected a fireplace and an ADA accessible room, but because we booked through a 3rd party, we were told, that request only became evident the day before we checked in and the only two ADA rooms were filled.  Large lodge, only 2 ADA rooms.  Desk people were friendly.  Ft. Bragg has a lot to offer.  And outside the lodge is a state park walking trail that was very nice.

View spectacular, room not so much.

We stayed 2 nights at Ocean View Lodge and it was very nice. The downstairs room was very spacious and included a large sitting area.  The view of the ocean from our room was beautiful. The front office staff was super nice. and our room was equipped with everything we needed. We will definitely stay there again.

Hoping to return soon.

Beautiful large  ocean front room. The room had a large minifridge with freezer and a microwave. The was a balcony with chairs to watch the sunset. The fireplace worked very well, in fact it kicked out so much heat we had to open the doors to cool the room back down. Great location just north of town with an oceanfront walkway that will take you to Glass Beach.  The folks at reception were very friendly/hlepful with suggestion about things to do in the area.  Amazing room  for the price-will stay here again if back up in Mendocino County.

Loved this hotel

Fantastic view! Enjoyed having the table and chairs indoors next to the window.  Made it a great spot to play cards!  Like that visiting in the off season is a good price. My least favorite thing about it was the bed was quite firm/not that comfortable.

Nice spot, great view!

The rooms & views are beautiful!  Nice trails down to the ocean. Room is a bit non modern but very clean and maintained.  Loved the fireplace,  local coffee and jetted tub. Front desk gal was super sweet and helpful.  The cleaning staff were polite too.
