I absolutely love the feel of this place. If you are an early bird like me, the mornings are absolutely beautiful to sit out on the porch on. Being able to look out over the ranch in the morning is stunning! Pam is wonderful! Every time I came to visit, the place has been clean and she makes the best breakfast.

Absolutely beautiful Bed & Breakfast. Pam, the host, was wonderful. She told us about the history of the house and gave us a wonderful tour. Then she left us to wander and get lost on the rich and beautiful land. There are magnolias and other enormous trees that seem to whisper their past to you as you sit quietly on the porch and take it all in. The bedrooms (and rest of the house) have been lovingly renovated with lots of attention to detail. We fell in love with all the antique pieces that have been spread throughout this amazing home. 

We built a fire and enjoyed it for a few hours with the other people staying here. They were all absolutely incredible to socialize with and we had a blast listening to the animals settling down for the night in the field.

Lots of attention to detail and guest comfort have been paid to ensure that your stay feels like a second home here. We will absolutely come back for horseback riding and to stay for a long weekend. You truly feel so at peace on this little slice of heaven.

The perfect slice of heaven.

While I would recommend this as a fun stay with friends - it's a delightful B&B with a rich history and the owner puts much care into her hospitality - I would strongly recommend against horseback riding unless you are a skilled rider. There is no instruction given, and there aren't any accommodations made to assist beginner-level riders. 

I hadn't been on a horse in some time and yet our guide discouraged me from wearing a helmet. Thankfully, I did not listen. I did fine and my horse did fine but late in our ride, our guide decided to rope a horse that was approaching our group and he did so without warning. By roping the horse, he spooked two of the horses we were riding on, which set them off in a gallop away from the group. I was completely unprepared for this and eventually fell off of my horse. Thankfully, I was ok. But the guide encouraged me to get back on my horse, which, either due to shock or embarrassment, I did try to get back on and because I am inexperienced, I did so improperly and my horse bucked and spun around until he could throw me off again. As a result, I tore my hamstring and am only just able to lightly jog again after months of rest and PT rehab. This felt like an accident that could have been prevented and I am just so grateful I wasn't trampled during the incident.

It took me a few months before I felt ready to share my experience because I was in disbelief that something so scary could happen on a girls' weekend away. But I recognize the importance in sharing my experience - I signed a release prior to riding and I really wish I had paid better attention to what was being offered and asked more questions ahead of our ride.

Horseback Riding experience at the Seventy-Four Ranch

My six year old daughter and I went to stay for three nights over Memorial Day weekend. We had the best time listening to stories, riding horses, learning to lasso and watching the horse and cattle in the fields. Thanks to Spirit my daughter is obsessed with horses, so unlike most guests who leave late morning after breakfast and riding, to do one of many fun things in the area, my daughter insisted we stay all day. Breakfast was great and the kindly and deliciously accommodated my gluten free needs. I see why people say they will return. I’m already setting dates for our next visit.

The Most Relaxed Fun

My daughter and I were looking for a hideaway from the rest of the world for a week. We are Washington State residents and knew we needed to get out of town and forget it all. 74 Ranch could not have been more perfect! We both got to do some riding, and the gentlemen that take you on the rides have an amazing experience for beginners. 
The entire staff and very friendly and treat you like family. Very laid back atmosphere and a beautiful old home that has been well loved and is full of history. It was absolutely picturesque! We will definitely return<3

Just what we were looking for.

We were in N. Georgia for a wedding, decided to try a local bed and breakfast, found Seventy-Four Ranch off the beaten path.  What a great find!  Great farm/ranch setting with beautiful views.  My wife truly enjoyed meeting and feeding the horses.  The main house and adjacent cabins really make you feel that you're living in the past.  Pam met us at the gate, and Manny showed us to our room (Blue Room, has a 4 post double bed).  We felt we were treated as family, not guests.  All of the rooms were stunning, you really could feel and see the history of the home.  One morning, Pam schooled the guests on the history of the ranch.  Each morning, the guests gathered on the large back porch to talk and enjoy coffee while Tosha prepared a different breakfast each day.  We really did enjoy our stay here and will not hesitate to stay here again should we be traveling back to this area.  If you love rustic views, ranch settings and horse back riding, give this historic bed and breakfast a try, you won't be disappointed, it has it all!

Fabulous step back into the past!

We had a hard time finding a place in GA that my daughters could ride horses.  Kind of found this place by accident but SO happy we did!!  it IS a rustic stay as the home is over 100 years old, and the cabins are made to feel very rustic / authentic.  But we expected that and loved it.   The breakfast was wonderful and my kids loved being able to run and play ... the fresh air and open space was just what we needed.

So peaceful and we loved the horses!

This place takes you back in time. From the vintage house (and contents) to the outbuildings and yard. Large spacious backyard - room for kids to run and play. Manny is great with the kids. We took horseback rides 2 different days - and enjoyed both. We cooked hotdogs and smores over the fire in backyard. Great views. Hope to go back soon.

Long Weekend Adventure

We dropped a child off at college and wanted to take our other child someplace fun on the way home.  We had heard about this ranch several years ago.  We spent a night there in January sleeping in the saddle cabin which has four bunks and a wood stove for heat.  We had the best time.  Breakfast the next day was superb as were the stories Pam told.  (She might be related to Butch Cassidy.)  After that Manny took our 12-year-old out for some good old fashioned activities which our son loved.  Thank you, Pam and Manny, for a fun and relaxing visit.
