I made a reservation through Hotel.com back in April 2023. I cancelled it a few days later. The manager called me on 10/14/23 asking me if we were arriving. I explained I cancelled it 6 months ago. Today 10/17/2023 they charged my debit card a no show. First, they did not have my debit card, not even Hotel.com has that card on file. I asked them were they got it and he replied "online" He also said I made the reservation through Expedia. I finally was able to find a copy of the reservation and under "room cost" it says $0.00. Another words; it was suppose to show how much we were being charged per night.  I ask for proof and they still haven't email the reservation information. This hotel did not have authorization to charge that card without my consent. This is now under investigations by Hotel.com, BBB, Expedia, local authorities and several others. BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL AND WHAT CARD INFORMATION YOU GIVE THEM!

Hotel room was clean and has been somewhat updated. Our issues came more with amenities, such as towels and toilet paper. We arrived later in the afternoon and wanted to get some touring done before dark, so we put our stuff in the room and left. Upon returning to our room, we saw there were only 2 shower towels…..we had 3 people in our party. I sent my son to the office to request another towel. He was told by the “manager” that there were no towels available. Not sure how a hotel doesn’t have towels but that was totally unacceptable. We ended up using a swim towel we brought. Later, before 11, my son saw there was hardly any toilet paper left on the roll. Now, we hadn’t used the bathroom in our room yet. There were no spare rolls of toilet paper. By this point the office was closed. We tried to call the office number to get someone. There is no emergency line at all. Again, thankfully I brought wipes with us to get us thru the night. In the morning, my husband went to the office to ask for a towel and toilet paper. He was greeted by the same manager who my son dealt with the night before and told “you need to talk to housekeeping”. Again, you are the supposed manager so why can’t you get these items? When we were loading the car to leave, the manager glared at us the entire time. Very disappointed in this stay. We’ve stayed here many times  over the years without any issues. Due to the managers attitude and cost of the room vs. what we received, we will not be returning. It’s a shame cause we always support small business.

Repeat customer but will not return.

Staff really attentive.  The owner made some improvements like new flooring in the rooms (old carpet is gone!), new blankets/bed covers, new paint.  I believe this is all the rooms.  Yes the bathroom is old but very clean.   Property is kept very clean.
If you are going expecting a Hilton then go somewhere else.  This is a "mom & pop" type motel from the 50's but the location cant be beat.


Made Improvements and Really Nice Staff

We stayed at the three crowns this past week. Location is great! Looks like a lot of improvements are being made on the property. The staff are friendly and helpful. The price is right! We had a nice time in gettysburg. We'll be back!

Much needed vacation

My title says it all "never again". I was in town for the remembrance day weekend, I chose the motel as to its proximity to all that was going on. I was here for two  miserable days. The heater does not work (I had it to 80*, and nothing). There was a oil filled heater inside the door, which will not work for a cold November night. Thank heavens I brought my own fleece blankets, and that I can tolerate a cold room. Anyone who can't tolerate cold better not stay here. 
There was obviously a mold or mildew issue, I had a stuffy nose from Friday to Sunday (I'm home now and no more stuffy nose). 
The bathroom was freezing and the tub was from the 1960s, powder blue, as was the sink. 
The place needs a complete overhaul from door to bathroom. 
I'll not recommend a friend or family member to stay here.


Never again 

Every now and then you go to a hotel and you leave with a bit of regret that it needs some TLC.  This one is way beyond that and we left with a ton of regret that we didn't read previous reviews.  
It's very old, it's in tremendous need of cleaning and updating.  
There was mildew in the showers.
A/C was very loud (as was the bathroom fan). Only marginally kept the room cool (and it wasn't hot out during our stay).
Rooms smelled like smoke. (Outside every door was a plastic coffee container for butts that looked like they've been there for years and were filthy. (unfortunately, obvious some also smoked inside the rooms).
Rooms were dark (dark paint and the lowest wattage lights they could find makes a bad combination).
Towels looked like they've been used for 20 years (threadbare).
Smallest bar of soap I ever saw in a hotel (and no shampoo).
In all fairness, the beds were comfortable but still didn't get a good night of sleep wondering what the room was used for last and how thoroughly it was cleaned.
With all of the hotels in the area, I don't know how this one stays in business.

Too far beyond needing TLC

We chose this motel for its location to a lot of Gettysburg museums, restaurants and shops, we were happily pleased.  The motel staff were excellent and offered help with any items needed and gave great tips on where to eat and what to see while we were in town.  The motel room itself was very clean and neat, great location as mentioned, just what we were expecting.  We plan on returning in the future, the price was within our budget and very reasonable.  Thanks again for all your help.

Great place for Civil War reenactors, right on part of the battlefield

We stayed at this motel on December 10 and I gave it a great review through Hotels.com.  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.  We were on our way to Virginia.  On the way home we decided to stay over again but this time we were really disappointed.  It seems they had gotten new mattresses (the old ones were near the dumpster).  That's great except they left the plastic on them---intentionally !  My wife and I didn't sleep at all that night from the crunching of the plastic and the sheets sliding off.  I've stayed at this motel several times this past year but will not stay again if they intend to leave plastic on the mattresses.  I've never heard of such a thing.

sleepless night

This is a very nice place for a short stay.  It's an older property, but they are trying to make it nice.  The staff was very friendly and helpful, genuinely seemed to care about us.  Very refreshing!  The room itself was nice - older, obviously, but clean and comfortable.  Plenty of room very good internet, shower was fine, and got a good night's sleep in the king sized bed.  They did advertise a free breakfast on the internet and their sign but didn't have one.  Other than that, this is definitely a place we would stay again when in the area.

nice budget hotel

Took my daughter on a mini road trip while my wife was away visiting relatives. First stop was Gettysburg for some ghost tours. We stayed here overnight. No frills. Clean. Like, cleaner than I expected. Just dated. Like stepping back in time. Cheap rate, worked for us. Comfy and warm beds were all we needed. Fit the bill!
