Appreciate your help.  Consider staying at this place. Close to eating places. No disturbances. Overall good place.

Pleasant stay

The Southwinds Inn is a little under-average, but if you're looking for just one neighborhood for a night, you don't have to stay in Port Arthur any longer, it's not a nice town, so the motel is a good fit, at least I slept well there.

One night you can take it

DISGUSTING!!!! The whole experience was horrible. My husband works construction so we travel a lot and this is by for the worst motel we've ever stayed in. They advertise new rooms but everything was rusty and had mildew on it. We had to stay because we couldn't find any other vacancies in the area. We also have a service dog and when we checked in told the guy at the front desk and there was no problem. A few days later I was approached by a lady from the office that said they didn't accept pets and after explaining he was service dog she still had an attitude but let it go. A few days after that I was approached by a different lady and was told the same thing and after trying to explain to her she got so angry she was telling at me. We ended up having to call the police but was asked to leave by the motel.

One star to much

Motorcycle riding on a ''no-where'' trip, I had had a long day and took the first lodging that I saw when I had to stop.

With an Extended Stay and a Super 8 as neighbors, I said to myself that it couldn't be that bad.  I checked in as a walk-in for a $50 room.

I have to say that they are renovating the place but my room only had new hardwood floors and a TV.  The bottom corners of the walls and bathroom/bath were full of mold.

Not sure what and how much the rooms at the neighbors were like but it couldn't be worse.

With only 10 cars in the lot, I never understand why they don't just do a full renovation on a room and then offer it to customers instead of doing all baths, all floors, all TVs, all paint, .......

I thought Katrina was 10 years ago ???????????

It has great acomodations for a buisness trip but dont think of it to much for the vacation. Pool seems to be "ot of order" to much green slime to see through. But the rooms are great spacy and flat screens with wifi all a buisness men can as for.
