This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I am glad we did! The house was beautiful and so clean. We stayed in Sir James room and it was spacious, clean, and had a private bathroom. The back patio is a great touch - perfectly shaded in the summer with a great warm breeze. Sherry was an excellent host - very friendly, personable, and hospitable. The breakfast was delicious. If I ever go back to Algonquin, I would stay here over any of the hotels. The location is also great - it is right downtown Algonquin with great restaurants, walking/biking paths, ice cream & coffee shops, within in walking distance.

My husband and I stayed in Lady Teresa's Room. The room is relaxing with beautiful old world feel and all the modern comforts. The morning breakfast was delicious and elegant. Our only regret was that we did not have time to visit the neighborhood because there are many places to walk to and we will definitely make more time for that next visit.  What a jewel we found. 

A jewel in Algonquin

We stayed at Victorian Rose Garden B & B after playing in a golf outing at the Cary Country Club.  The B & B was a short 15-minute drive from the golf course.  

Sherry has a beautiful home and is the consummate host.  The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable, uniquely decorated, and stocked with all of the necessary amenities.  The guest refrigerator with soft drinks and water was a welcome plus after a hot day on the golf course!

The living and dining areas are decorated in beautiful detail, and we enjoyed sitting out on the lovely back deck, too.

On Sunday, Sherry prepared an outstanding full breakfast that included mini-scones, fruit granita, spinach and red onion quiche, and bacon cooked to crisp perfection.  She also provided teas, coffee and fresh orange juice (which we, of course, made into mimosas!).

Victorian Rose Garden B & B is a very short walk to downtown Algonquin, where we enjoyed great food at Port Edward Restaurant on the Fox River on Saturday night, and delicious 50-cent (not a typo!) Bloody Marys at Cattleman's Burger and Brew on Sunday morning.

The price of our stay was extremely reasonable for all of the above.  We highly recommend Victorian Rose Garden B & B and will definitely be back!

Wonderful Experience!

My wife, daughter and I truly enjoyed this wonderfully decorated, quaint bed-and-breakfast. Miss Sherry was incredibly friendly and made a wonderful breakfast for us. The bedroom was also nicely decorated, and comfortable.  Highly recommended!

Wonderful place to stay

We rode the Fox River Bike trail from Oswego to Algonquin and stayed here for one night. It is a beautiful B&B and Sherry is a wonderful and accommodating host!  Our room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed morning coffee on the porch overlooking the beautiful flower gardens. The B&B is perfect for bikers as we were able to park our bikes in a large locked garage and there are many dining options within a two block walk from the B&B. The bike trail is a few blocks from the B&B. Highly recommend this place to bikers and non-bikers alike!

Good ole fashioned greetings form Sherry and her helpers began our very pleasant overnight stay with the modern addition of air conditioning. Breakfast was just the right amount and in a time we were pleased to accept. This place would be a great place to stay for w whole holiday.

Historical Algonquin started here.

We are regulars at the Victorian Rose every year. The hospitality and food a la Sherry and Carolyn are fabulous. 

The facility is very comfortable...I personally love the baby grand piano in the sitting room. 

We love biking the Fox River Trail and the trailhead is right across the street. 

Fruit, quiche, pancakes, bacon...this is a man sized and delicious breakfast. Great coffee and juices...and real maple syrup is the cherry on top. 

All this at a very reasonable rate. We have taken many bike weekends over the years and the Victorian Rose is #1 on our list!

The best way to travel is to stay at a bed and breakfast like the Victorian Rose Garden! Comfortable and clean, but more importantly, you are warmly welcomed and any needs you might have are addressed by the attentive owner and staff.
Great breakfast. The house has such good vibes, that you will drift off thinking of times long gone, but still here in the form of this B & B.
Worth the short drive north from Interstate 90. Excellent restaurants within walking distance.

Great stay

The hostess was wonderfully polite and helpful.  The house is lovely - warm, cozy, comfortable, spacious in the main floor.   Breakfast was wonderful, especially the scones!  Our room was a little small but comfortable furnishings and adequate bathroom.  It was one of the less expensive rooms.   It's right next to a bike bath to walk around the creekbed, and into town and over to the Fox River.

very nice place to stay

I had a wonderful stay here. My room was very clean and spacious. The home is beautifull and in a nice quiet location. I walked 2blocks to a great Italian restaurant and another night to a homemade ice cream shop.  I was served the most amazing gourmet breakfasts I have ever had.  I slept so good and felt so refreshed (which is unusual for me, especially when traveling).   Sherry the innkeeper is absolutely wonderful.  And Carolyn the Chef is so kind and talented.  This is a very nice place.
