A real special place! Not to mention the people who run it! Bill, Maria and Melissa make you feel home, outside home. The breakfast is really something to look for and Bill company makes it invaluable. Maria’s strawberry cookies by the door every day, it’s something difficult to forget .. A great place to find refuge and escape from the city. We highly recommend it to everyone, an incredible experience, an experience of other times ..

The Dream House!

I do not like B&B's. This one I loved. The home itself is very nice. If it was set on 20 acres it would be ideal as it is unfortunately in a neighborhood with 50's and 60's homes around it.  Nevertheless, it was a home run. It was clean, well accessorized with tasteful items and lots of books, comfortable mattress, very efficient central air, and very quiet.  The grounds were beautiful and as well maintained as the home. The highlight was the innkeeper Maria who is a sensational chef and caretaker. Pleasant and the best baker I have come across, you will never go hungry as guests seem to always have a selection of baked goods in their rooms and in the lobby (along with a coffee maker, tea, cold water, etc). Close enough to visit the CIA, and far enough from NYC to make a great weekend getaway.

A lovely B&B

My wife and I weee looking to get away for Presidents’ Day weekend, and we could not be happier with our choice. The accommodations were clean, well maintained, and truly classy, with very nice antique furniture and decorations throughout. Our room even had a fireplace! The innkeeper, Maria, is very sweet, helpful, a great cook and baker. Breakfast was delicious, and Bill the owner was fascinating to speak with over breakfast. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Highly recommended!

Wonderful Winter Getaway

Needed a place for one night while in the Hudson Valley for a friend’s party.  It was only 12 minutes away and we took Uber back and forth.  The Bykenhulle House is beautiful when you pull up!  When we entered they were decorated for Christmas!  It was so pretty and warm and cozy!  The room was basic but really nice.  The bathroom could use updating for sure.  I have to say the place was spotless, very very clean!  The inn keeper was really nice and the owner joined us for breakfast.  Very interesting man with wonderful stories.  Would stay there agin when in the area.  

Festive Stay for the Holidays

We hosted a bridal shower for my daughter at the Bykenhulle House and were so pleased!  Our approximately fifty guests were all exclaiming about the beauty of the building and the ballroom.  Kimberly, the Event Coordinator, had many wonderful ideas about the shower; I was easily able to make contact with her when I needed to, and she ensured that the room was set up to my expectations.  The table linens were freshly pressed, and the tables were set beautifully.  I used one of the suggested caterers and was very happy with the food and service. Kimberly made my job as host easy and comfortable; she worked well with the caterer and everything ran smoothly.  I highly recommend Bykenhulle House for any events.

A Bridal Shower at the Bykenhulle House

My wife and I stayed only one night, so our experience there is limited, but positive. Booked via the B&B's own clear & helpful website; the process was smooth & simple, with clear confirmation emails. Amenities, rules, & expectations were set out clearly.

Checked in at 5:30, cheerfully greeted by Melissa, shown to our room, asked about dietary restrictions, and that was about all that was necessary.

The William Francis room was just as described on the web site, very clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. It’s an old house, and part of its charm is that it creaks and the doors have gaps that let a little hallway light in. Very quiet at night; we could hear a baby crying in another room for a bit, but not loud enough to be distracting. We felt that we had sufficient privacy in the room.

You can come and go without any fuss; each room has its own key.

As an aside, we had dinner at Villa Nigrelli, a great Italian restaurant literally around the corner. Very busy, make reservations!

After a good night's sleep on a comfy mattress & pillows, we headed down for a pleasant breakfast. We were served a bowl of fruit, frittata, small sausage patty, and offered an assortment of muffins & scones. Orange juice, coffee, & a variety of tea. Three things about breakfast, which you may like or dislike, depending on your preferences.
- It's between 9-10am
- Everyone sits at one long table
- Bill, the owner, likes to visit over breakfast and has a lot of interesting stories.

After breakfast and a chat, we cleaned up, packed up, dropped the key off (easy checkout!) and spent a few minutes wandering the grounds. There is a beautiful event hall, lovely garden, great spot for a smaller wedding or other event. Or just sit and relax if you have the time.

All in all we found it a lovely place, run by a friendly and helpful crew.
