Be aware that what you see on their website versus what is actually there and what you are going to get is different. We booked a wood/log cabin looking cabin, but to our surprise, it was a white doublewide trailer. All the walls are painted a white flat paint so the amount of scuffs and dirt and grime that you can see is just gross. Apparently, these are new to the campground and I can only imagine what they will look like in 2 years from now - they are dirty and the white shows everything! Also, they have a fireplace on the porch that they never hooked up. All this being said, we understand that the time that the staff has to "clean" the cabins before the next guests come in is a short window but there needs to be some additional time/maintenance given the price that they charge, and their website needs to be accurate!! The store has very limited items in stock. The tractor rides are fun for the kids especially with the bears joining but the bears have zero personality!  The aqua inflatable's part and beach were closed and the pool is not heated (or clean). The water park area and the wooden playground is fun for the kids and is best during the week when there are not as many people.  Lastly, I had reached out to the office numerous times befoe my trip to ask some questions and got zero response. The place has great potential but needs some love and care to get it where it should be for the price that you pay, and update their website, and amp up the staffing. 

Has potential, but...ugh!

To start off the price for this place is rip off, $400 for 3 nights???? now the best part , the sites are so crammed in and close to each other! my fire pit was 6 feet from my camper and the next site was 5 feet from the pit, so that means the next camp site was 11 feet from my camper and his sewer lines . the site didn't accommodate my camper , There were many drunk parents around not paying attention to their children.  People were driving golf carts and their vehicle's fast threw out the camp ground ,   I did try to call the office on the first day to complaine about the site and good luck getting a call back or anyone to answer! The 2nd day i went up to the office  to complain and was told we can move you to another farther site ! lol not moving after stetting up , honesty i would stay away from this place !

Don't go here

We arrived on a Thursday and found check-in to be quick and painless. We were given a map of the park with the schedule of events and drove in to our campsite. We were with three other families- one other with a campsite and two with cabins. The sites were clean and ready when we arrived, as were the cabins. 
The kids took off on their bikes to explore while we set-up. Later that evening the kids went finishing and to our surprise caught multiple nice- sized bass and even won the biggest fish contest. I am thinking the pond must be stocked this year because we have never caught anything but minnows in nets the other years we have been there. We used hot dogs- I think it gave us an edge over people using worms and lures. 
Once again, this is a property where it may benefit you to rent a gold cart. We walked everywhere, but would have been nice several times. We also stay in the center of the park. If you choose to stay at one or the other, you could have a LONG walk, uphill in your future,
depending on what you want to do. Bring a wagon, if you don’t book a golf cart ahead of time. They were out when we checked in. 

The water park was in TOTAL working order for the first time in many years. The kids had fun. Be warned, they check for wrist bands given at check-in now. 

The food also moved from the top of the property to nearby the water park. We ordered food two days and while it took some time, it was worth the wait. They give you a pager so you can return to the beach/water park while you wait. One thing to suggest, the menu should be handed out with check-in paperwork. We had no idea what was offered until we walked up to building and saw menu on taped to counter. 

The inflatables are back and by far what my kids (8 and 14) loved the most. Tip: if you bring your own life vest, you won’t have to wait when it gets busy. 
They had live music on Saturday which was nice and the ice cream station by the water park was open late afternoon. I do. Wish they had more activities for older kids, many seemed very juvenile and were nothing my kids were interested in after biggest fish contest. I think there is work that could be done here. 
The kids took advantage of the mini golf and the pool, although pool is advertised to be heated, we had a hard time believing that as was COLD. Also had new paddle boards to borrow and kids had fun with those as well. I will also give a nod to the employees-
MUCH more attentive and hard working compared to what we encountered last summer. 
We had a great time overall and kids did not want to leave. We have already booked for next summer.

July at Jellystone

Never have I been so disappointed in a campground.  We will never stay at one of your locations again after the way we were  treated.  Also your cancellation policy is the worst we have ever dealt with!  Because of a medical issue we cancelled, and were immediately told that we would lose ALL of our money!  No questions, no empathy, nothing.  I might as well have been talking to a robot.  Then when we tried to call back and ask to reschedule a different weekend, we could not get through to anyone.  We even called the main reservation at Sun Outdoors!  They said they couldn't do it but said they would email the place we had the reservations at so they would call us!  No one called us!  I guess that's a good way to deal with a customer.  

Never Again!

We stayed in a premium cabin.  Very well stocked with dishes, silver, cooking utensils, coffee maker, toaster and cookie sheets.  The beds are a ‘short queen’ not actual queen and not the most comfortable but for only a week vaca, they were sufficient.  The water was hot, the shower pressure was good.  Be sure to book your golf cart early, the walking isn’t terrible but if you have bad feet or knees, you will definitely appreciate it.  The activity list is a bit disorganized.  Many of the activities did not happen because they were missing supplies.  Double check the list with a person in the rec center before you get the kids excited about something.  The activities that did go off were fun!  Movie night was also fun.  Do not miss the Hayrides!  We went 5 times in our week.  The grandkids loved it, sang the songs the whole way home!  Bingo games are fun,  candy bar bingo, you bring one per card to play, and if you win you get a nice stash of chocolate.  The other bingo is Slushie bingo, if you win, you get a slushie!! Staff is very helpful, if there is a problem, ask to speak to someone to get it fixed!  Some of the stuff (gem bags, arcade, some ceramics), were a bit overpriced,  but it’s vacation.  The worst part was….the pizza oven was broken!

Mostly good stuff - overall Great family Vaca!

This was my first time ever at this camping facility. I am a longtime tent camper and lover of outdoors. I have stayed at various facilities in my life and this was by far the WORST. Maybe I am old fashioned and I really wanted to give this a chance. BUT here goes ..NO lifeguard and the pool was a free for all with kids being out of control and parents not paying attention and drinking beer IN THE POOL. Kids splashing to the point of several parents speaking to them and then leaving with their kids because it was miserable. Trash at the pool and Kids playing chase and tag without regards to who they ran into and knocked over. NO security enforcing the road rules. Golf carts and other vehicles driving recklessly THROUGH campsites. Hitting things and firepits, driving fast on the roads with dust flying everywhere. Day and night. I didn't feel safe at our campfire because of the recklessness No camper courtesy of respecting other sites, NO quiet time enforced. After 2am still loud music, people and carts/vehicles whizzing by. The sites are close and people are jam packed in this campground. I feel this is more about $$ then a family experience. Things broken and not working like the splash area. Those are just a few of my complaints . I am sure it was a great place at one time.  This is sad as I feel it could be improved and done better. Management DO BETTER!

This resort has SERIOUSLY gone downhill and we don’t ever plan to return.  We stayed 5 years ago and it was top-notch: the staff was friendly, there were numerous activities, and all buildings/grounds were in excellent and clean condition.  

Beware if you choose to stay here: 

1) Waterpark not working - Two days prior to our stay, we received an email saying the waterpark would be closed for the rest of the season due to mechanical issues.  We were offered either a stay for next year or 50% credit towards next year; no refund of any sort. Upon arrival the woman at registration  was seriously confused about these options and couldn’t figure out what half of our stay was.  She said we would receive another email with our credit but that we wouldn’t see our “points” on our end.  The email never came, therefore, no credit.  

2) Horrible staff - In addition to the waterpark being shut down, the arcade had 2 working games out of about 20. When asked about getting them fixed there were eye rolls.  The staff are all teenagers with awful attitudes and zero communication and social skills.  My toddlers were walking up the road to the pool and a female staff member acted extremely annoyed that she had to drive her golf cart near my children who were walking on the same road.  She rolled her eyes and had the most disgusted look on her face as she drove past my kids.  We saw this “pleasant” teenager again as we were getting ice cream and again, she was very annoyed that there were families wanting ice cream.  The teenage staff doesn't care about the teenage guests using the golf carts. There were teengaers chasing each other on golf carts and driving around playing “tag” with them.  They literally ran into posts and nearly hit RVs.  No parents or staff around to tell them to knock it off before someone got seriously hurt.  

3) Gross conditions - The pool area and pool bathrooms were disgusting.  Litter, algae, toilet paper, everywhere.  

4) No activities - Just about the only activities were laser tag and the large inflatable slide.  The bounce pad wasn’t blown up for some reason unknown to us.  None of the bears were walking around or dressed up at all.  No hay ride.  NOTHING! 

5) The cabins are missing things and broken - Our cabin was missing forks.  When my husband inquired about them at registration he was told they didn’t have any! Our fridge was cool when we arrived, but the cleaning staff must have turned it off because the very next day, all of our groceries were SPOILED because the fridge was actually turned completely off.  There were several broken drawers in the cabin, no working smoke detector, and no batteries for the remote control.  We had to purchase batteries from the overpriced gift shop.  The air conditioner in the bedroom did NOT work.  

I would highly recommend going to Great Wolf Lodge instead.  For 2 nights at Jellystone we spent $732.  We spent less money at GWL and had a blast!  Our experience there was NOTHING like the experience we had at Jellystone.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! NEVER RETURNING!

Great place for kids,activities start early and go all day. Great food delivered if you choose,garbage pick up all day. Stayed in a cabin,I had to fix the toilet,put spine back on the non shuting porch door. Biggest complaint,no security,kids at night racing golf carts,bumper cars,7-8 hanging off a cart. The day we left 2 kids flipped one with injuries. Also mini bikes running around which are not allowed. Overall had a great time,must for families

Pro& Cons

We have stayed in cabins at Jellystone for the past 10 tears. This year had me rethinking next year's visit. We pulled up to our cabin to see the screen on the porch door flapping. it wouldn't have taken much for them to staple them down. We knew the pond with the inflatables was closed due to deadly algae, you would think that after 4 years of this problem, they would be able to control it. the Laser tag had only 4 working guns, my family could not play together. There were feces in the shower by the pools for at least 2 days,  Then the waterpark was shut down.  Only one working game in the arcade. Definitely feel that at least a partial refund is warranted.  I really do not see us returning next year.

THIS PARK IS IN RAPID DECLINE!!

I stayed at this property over the weekend.  we are a family of 5- 2 adults and 15,11,8 year old boys.  We had a great time!  The cabin had everything we needed for our stay - the other reviews have complained about the beds and a/c - We are CAMPING and do not expect the amenities of a 5 star hotel.  the water park was super fun and we loved the hayride so much we did it 3x!  

The staff is young but in this current market - im glad they are working.  I found them to be social and accommodating  I would agree that the management is poor - I saw the so called assistant manager who is supposedly running the place - tell the employee she was going to go cry in the maintenance area - well that's not right.  leaving them to deal with issues is juvenile and not worth the title of manager.  .  

We had a great experience with the girls in activities - Emily and Sydney were very fun. My youngest had a great time at bingo with them.

People who are complaining on here will always complain.  how is the resort responsible or weather or algae on the lake??? nature happens...Actually camping in the rain is much more fun than in the heat!
