Sun-n-Sands Motel

Sun-n-Sand Motel, Kanab is an old motel and, looking closely, it is pretty decrepid, needing some TLC. Our room seemed to have the aircon connected to the rooms on either side so that if one room chose cold aircon the other two got it too! We had to move rooms which was allowed without fuss. Good parking is available and the motel's location is close to the town centre. There are more modern offerings in Kanab at competitive prices.

Not the best motel in Kanab but tolerable.

But, it was fine.  Check in was kind of weird.  The key was beneath the floor mat of the room.  Parking space is in front of your room.  The room fit the bill.  It provided a place to sleep and bathe.  The room has a frig and a microwave.  The pillows up against the head board smelled weird, so didn't use.  The shower is small and functional (reminds me of European bathrooms).  Check out was easy.  I had to leave at 6am for Zion.  There is a drop box for room keys and you're out.  I would stay here again despite the shortcomings.

Needs improvement

Don is great with knowledge of the area---had some munchies at check-in---nice surprise---old but clean with hot water---walk to plenty of eateries---had fun talking with other guests---best deal in Kanab---I'll be back---Thanks Don!

fair price & clean

A classic American motel, the owner is really polite and available!!! I recommend stopping at this Motel that is on the road and getting advice from the owner if you have any doubts about the route.

The owner is very hospitable and friendly!!!

Don was an extremely cordial host. He welcomes all guests and makes sure everyone is comfortable.  The rooms are older but very clean and comfortable. He bar b ques and invites everone to the common area to join him.

We and our dogs were welcomed with homemade food and good accommodations. Lots of respect for Veterans, my man is a marine. We had wonderful conversations and a comfortable stay. A great mom and pop spot, no corporate nonsense just down home good vibes! Don was a great host!

Super Fun!!

Motel in real American style. All rooms are on the ground floor with parking for the car right in front of the room. Gentle and friendly owner. Very available, he also offered us dinner and suggested various places nearby to see. Centralized air conditioning, turns off at 10.00 but you can ask to turn it off even before. Small room but there is all the necessary refrigerator microwave TV products from the bathroom. Only the phon was missing. We had a small problem with the shower but the motel manager solved it right away. We didn't take advantage of breakfast because it starts at 7.00.

Best Customer Service!! 

This accomodation is VERY scary. The owner checked me in at 2300 in the evening. My husband was staying in the car. First he gave me another room I booked a Kingsize bed. He gave me a 2 queen size bed. Telling me that there was no other room available. And if i did not accept his apologie we had to find another motel.

Next day i wanted to check out amd get an invoice on my companies name. He toon the key and left. After seeing he helped two people ignoring us i we t to aak him
if he could finish the check out. He started by telling me that he did not liked my husbands attitude which he had seen just for two split second. I told him I needed an invoice. He started telling me that i already got one (which was not true). He walked 
with me to the counter. When we arrived there he started shouting to us...

“you f* black c*sucker you get the h*ll out of my office”. Get out of my office before i k*ck you. get the h* out or I will b*t you c*s*kc up. Get in your car get the f* out of here. 

We got in our car and got scared I thought i left my phone realizing when i was driving in the car. I stopped and the guy came running to us wanting to hit the car yelling 

“if you dont get the f* out of here i b*t you up and smash. your car”. My husband called the police because we where to scared. When the police came i searched my phone and left as soon as possible.

I am telling you it was the most sharing thing i have ever encountered in my life i have never been threatend by anyone on this level.

This property should be removed from
any booking sites and especialy trip advisor. 

So I ask everyone PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS MOTEL.

RACIST GAYHATERS AND VIOLANT

We are travelling around Arizona and Utah on a budget and this motel was perfect for a good nights sleep after a tiring but enjoyable day. Everything you need: comfortable bed, soft, clean sheets, lots of clean white towels, TV, fridge and microwave. The cherry on the cake was a copious breakfast of delicious pastries, fruit, cereals, good coffee and a chat with the very friendly manager who will do his very best so that you have a good stay. 2 adults, one queen bed $89 + tax 8 Oct 2018.
