Very poor customer service. I contacted the hotel in reference to my digital key not working properly. I asked the lady on the phone, Michele Blanchette, for more information in reference to my issue. She began yelling at me, before I could ask her to calm down and just cancel my reservation she slammed the phone down in my ear. I called back again and asked the nice young lady, Laura, if she would please cancel my reservation and I would find another place to stay. I also asked for the managers information so I could report Michelle for her very poor attitude and nasty behavior. This is unacceptable for a Hilton. The hotel is very nice, clean and in a good location but the manager is rude and disrespectful. Please don't waste your time.

Horrible Customer Service (Michele Blanchette)

Usually you can expect that Hilton hotels are consistently great, but this was not the case here now. The hotel seems to be in a safe locale and looks good from outside. The inside needs cleaning. The carpets are filthy! We stayed on second floor and the carpets really need a cleaning. Carpets on first floors need to be replaced. They are torn and strands of carpet fingers can be seen stretched out. Looks terrible for a Hilton hotel. Don't even think about using the pool. There was so much chlorine in that pool that your eyes would sting from outside (I'm not kidding) the pool area through a door. Just walking through the pool area made you gag. Stains everywhere and on the floor in our room. The bed was clean and comfy. TV, coffee maker and such was great. Huge issue we had was that the folks staying above us had dogs and they barked and barked till one am! My husband went down to the desk twice and complained. This hotel was not even close to capacity and they put someone with dogs above another person's room. Who does that? We almost left. For what Hilton charges, this is ridiculous. 

Bad stay this time.

Found a lot of hair IN the bed.  Not a welcome feeling or a good look with reception tooling around the lobby on personal calls.  Been to many similar to same HGI layouts.  This one is the worst for upkeep.  Seems like this place may be surviving on brand equity.

It’s a Hilton - that’s good.  It’s below average for a HGI.

We made a reservation at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kankakee because my brother-in-law was sick and dying of cancer. We wanted to visit him before he passed away. Ultimately, he passed away while we were there. The staff, especially Alex and Gwen (the manager) were very kind and helpful. After my wife’s brother passed and we extended our stay, Alex put us on the bereavement rate reducing the cost to stay. We asked Gwen for an extremely late check out because all family had flown out early and she accommodated us for no additional cost. The rooms were clean and comfy. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Very helpful during a stressful time

The staff were very friendly and helpful, but they neglected to let us know that the breakfast was not complimentary.  In fact, it was overpriced.  We found this out by surprised when a hotel staff member brought us a bill.  For two having scrambled eggs, bacon and fruit we paid $29.  The food was not bad, but not good either.  The bathtub was dirty, its porcelain chipped.  The window in our room was coated with something that made it impossible to see through.  Connecting to the internet was awkward and slow.  We paid about $120 for two people staying one night.

Not As Good As We Had Hoped

On first glance there were no issues. However,  as we settled in, it became obvious that cleanliness and attention to detail were lacking. The chair in the room was filthy (as though unspeakable activities had taken place on that chair for years),  bathroom fan vent was coated in thick dust, low shower pressure because the shower diverter plunger did not work correctly and handprints on the ceiling. Beds were fair.
Upon check out, we relayed our concerns to the front desk and  the response was less than reassuring that these issues would be addressed. 

We have stayed in many Hilton Gardens and this is not a location I would recommend. 

Not a Hilton Garden I would recommend

Nice property. Easy access to highway and nearby towns.   Responsive and friendly staff.  Having a restaurant on property is so convenient for a short stay.  Food was well prepared.   Nicely decorated for holidays.  The hot cocoa bar was a cute touch 

Very good service and well maintained property

Place is very rundown mattress hard wooden base sticks out from mattress hit knee twice apparently just roof above bathroom cause rain was pounding down above ceiling kuerig was dirty so had to go to lobby to get coffee they were out of lids for cups. Bartender was really nice but she ran out of several beers including budlight after I had three computer system went down so no receipt and for some reason could not do made to order breakfast that morning only good thing was friendly staff wasted 23000 points probably last time I stay at garden inn 

Overnight stay while daughter was having baby

Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Tasty breakfast and sociable guests. Checked in after a long day to a smiling face. Asked questions about the area and got tips on places to eat and things to do.

Going to Olivet

The food was great, The accommodations were great, The halls and room were very clean.  
Front Desk was good attitude very fast Very nice girl i believe her name was tabby or something keep up the good work ladies .
The house keeper was very helpful I believe her name was laurena, Very nice girl hope to get her again
