The place seems dated.  It was clean but old.  Pillows were hard and flat. Only waffles and cereal for breakfast with coffee and juice.  All of the staff seemed very approachable and friendly.  There was an old car in the back being worked on.  The concrete in areas was really broken.

Friends in Raleigh

We cancelled a reservation about 2 weeks before we were scheduled to stay. They said their policy was 24 hours prior. This was 2 WEEKS. When we received our credit card bill it was not only on the bill but was actually placed on the card the same day that we MADE the reservation. We called the hotel and they couldn't even find where we had a reservation in the first place, but still refused to take anything off the card even though they didn't even have a record of us having the reservation. We are having to work with Discover to get it taken off. These people appear to be either incompetent or crooks. Stay away if you can!

Don't trust this place

A hard lumpy bed with hard flat pillows with rough uncomfortable bedding. We cannot sleep. There were two very small towels, two hand towels and one wash cloth and they were all thin and some ripped. The remote control was dirty and dusty, but placed in a plastic sleeve so maybe it was sanitized? Dirty carpet, rusty metal everywhere, no smart TVs, small beds, no elevator, zero curb appeal, poor landscaping, broken car window glass in the parking lot, side entry doors never lock, guests play their TV loudly thru the entire night, some rooms smell like smoke as you walk past.

Not sure how this gets any stars at all

Well, where do I start with what has to be the most memorable stay at a hotel for all the wrong reasons! On entering the hotel you are immediately met with the musty odour you usually associate with an unclean area. This soon became evident when we saw the two leather couches in the lobby, they were at one time cream but the dirt made them appear grey! At this point we should have turned around, followed our instincts, and left immediately but as we had three small very tired children with us and it was 11 o’clock at night, we decided to stay. We struggled up to the first floor with heavy suitcases as there is no elevator on site, the entire hotel floor is covered in carpet that would not be out of place in the 1940’s ! Both our rooms had stained sheets, pillow cases concealing dirty pillows, grubby carpet, rusty toilet roll holders and these were the good points!! I am from England but now live in France, I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world, but The Country Hearth Inn is the only hotel that I have had to wipe my feet ON THE WAY OUT!

Stay there if you are desperate!

Had a business trip so I stayed there for a bit.Older hotel but you can see that they uphold the standards. The rooms were actually pretty clean and I really appreciated that. Staff was also friendly. 

Not bad at all

We ended up at this hotel after being evacuated during Hurricane Dorian. The front desk people were extremely  nice, the place was clean, and the bed comfy. It's not a 5 star hotel but it is perfect for a night or two stay. We had none of the issues with smell or dirt and as a matter of fact, they are doing some renovating now. I'd stay again anytime.

Quiet, clean, friendly

EVERY EMPLOYEE very nice and accommadating!!
However, the manager should be empowered to give discounts for extremely disappointed guests! 
I am referring to theSpectrum TV OUTAGE that occurred during the last two days of my visit. One can only sleep, talk on phone or twiddle thumbs for so long. I thing at least 10% discount should go back on my credit card. OWNERS, trust the managers you hired & empower them to use their judgement with concerns of this matter!!!!

Disappointed & Xtremely(!!) Bored

Stopped in here because the Hampton inn was full... reviews lead me to believe this was a relatively nice non-big-chain hotel. I was QUITE disappointed, the room stank of cigarette smoke, there was a cockroach on the floor of my bathroom, it was extremely humid and I couldn’t ever get the HVAC sorted either. I tried cool to dry it out, then tried heat, neither could get the muggy feel out of the air. Also, the walls are EXTREMELY thin. I could hear a couple in room 105 having a very loud group “liaison”  all night. The towels are also just larger than washcloths and are not big enough to dry off properly.  Lastly the sheets had cigarette burns and body fluid stains all over them. Overall, for the $90 military rate I paid it, I did not find value. I ended up calling it quits and leaving at 5am after I simply couldn’t take the noise from my Neighbur’s any longer.

Bad experience

room was very clean as was the entire facility, we were very comfortable with our stay and the staff. we did recommend it while we were there and the front desk held an additional room for us. we were happy with our complimenary breakfast and will deffinatly recommend to any one going to the area, was easy to access the hiways and get around to other areas. i do suggest handicap rails in the shower as i do a hand held showr head. but other than than yes a nice quiet place to stay.

2 nites stay

Stayed here last week while in town for my father’s funeral. Arrived late the first night (3 a.m.) and was met by a wonderful front-desk agent. My wife recently had hip-replacement surgery, and he made sure I had everything needed to help make her comfortable. An incredibly nice young lady working the desk did likewise the next night. The staff here deserves high praise. They are a credit to ownership. My room, one of the first-level suites, was big with a wonderful jacuzzi tub. Very comfortable accommodations. I would happily stay here again. You won’t find more for the price in this area.
