I was looking for somewhere to stay for granddaughter basketball game. I am from Fort Wayne and when I tried to call over and over again I went there and it was freezing pool was like condemned no one at the counter. They left a note saying if u need me call blah blah blah. So disappointed my granddaughter lives in Knox and my mom does to. I was looking forward to just spending time with them. But noooo had to get a room 30 minutes away because if it. I say tear it down and make a parking lot of it. 

Run don't walk to any other place

Our stay at the Astoria Inn was very quiet - we were the only guests at the hotel. Our room was comfortable and well climatized. There wasn’t daily service, but there was WiFi. I would stay here again and will be doing so in July

Very Quiet Inn

What can I say about the Astoria in Knox Indiana? I stayed here several years ago and said I wouldn't do it again. I did however stay again and I was hoping it was better but it's not. The air conditioning does work, the cable does not, the towels are very thin and the beds are very hard. The staff seems nice enough but not forthcoming with when the cable will be fixed. Even though I was handed a remote upon checking just in case it might work, it didn't. They do have Wi-Fi but it's not password protected making it unsafe. The rooms need updating badly however they appeared clean except for the filters in the bathroom and bedroom, they needed cleaning.  The bright side of the visit was they did have 2 ply toilet paper, something a lot of motels do not.  They have an indoor pool which looks very inviting, however, there is a sign stating the pool is closed.  I looked in the window, they are storing things on one side of the pool area which I guess makes it unsafe to swim.

Not Surprised

Wow One of the WORSTE experience EVER..  This place was NASTY and would not give refund.. The owner is one weird creepy guy.. I swear he was stalking us  Every time we left the room he popped up from behind some corner just staring WEIRD.. The place is FILTHY the only good experience was we ordered a pizza delivery from a place called Gina Marie's Pizza and it was THE BEST pizza we ever had.. The owner of the hotel tried to get us to order from someplace else when we asked him who delivered he told us this place was no good. We didn't listen to the creepy guy and Thank god it was AWSOME.. I would not EVER stay in this hell hole again

un fricken believable

We live in Winamac and had an anniversary party thrown for us in Knox.  Since we had several relatives coming in from out of town we decided to get a room and stay in town with them.  We had 4 rooms and when we checked in we were placed on different floors.  When we asked to be placed closer to each other we were to there were no more rooms, really  3 cars besides ours in the parking lot.  One of the roo.s had no toilet paper, carpets were dirty , very little hot water in one of the rooms.  Pool was closed and looks like it's been that way for a very long time.  Cable my backend.  Terrible hotel.  We talked our relatives out of driving to a hotel in Plymouth to stay here, big mistake that we will NEVER make again .  No wonder your parking lot is always empty.  I will tell anyone who asks to go someplace else that's for sure.

I'm from the next town so don't believe it's Mayberry ish at all owner is not from hear Middle East and if you want a there'd world experience then ride your camel to town bloody the bending was covered with the hot tub had maybe been cleaned once a mouth if that owner knows he went in my king room 180.00 dollars look like poo on the towels springs were bulging out have broken out in hives since last night there's not enough cleaning people in indiana to make this stay able it was so cold we did not need a fridge we made it about 1 and a half hours befor I made them give my money back gross poo and I worked at a sewage plant befor so I know it when I see and small it so to the one person who thanks it's ok you are full of it and are probable the owner one more word for the Astoria lawsuits

Get your shots before you take this trip

This hotel gets one star only because I can't add a review without rating it.  But this hotel deserves no stars. It is old, tired, and out of date The first clue is at the front desk with a large sign that says NO REFUNDS The decor is right out of the 1950's and has not been updated at all. If you need a hairdryer you have to go to the desk to get it.  If you want a TV remote you have to go to the desk to get it.  And you have to go because no one answers to phone at the front desk.My pillow smelled of someone's perfume and the floor in the bathroom was not clean when we moved in.  If for some reason you go to Knox, Indiana, find another place to stay.
