Doesn’t look much when you roll up, but this place was really great. Surprisingly really really quiet, clean and good size rooms and very comfortable bed. Shower was strong and hot, plenty of coffee in the room and the usual breakfast on in the morning. Aircon was quiet and good set of channels on the TV. Hotel was close to some good restaurants, fast foods and Walmart Supercenter. Will definitely stay here whenever I come thru La Junta. Price was very reasonable, it was a Monday nite when I stayed. Now on my favorites list. 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was very pleasantly surprised!

It's not in the same class as the Hampton or the Holiday in La Junta. But it was $70-$90 cheaper. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The HVAC worked and with the ceiling fan could be turned off at night. The Wi-Fi was acceptable with no drop outs and decent speed. The breakfast was plain awful with nothing to recommend it. A tiny muffin, weak coffee, stale cereal and a few bananas. The shower had hardly any pressure and the towels were paper thin. For the most part the room was quiet except when the room next door used the shower and then noise +.  Get a room in the hotel that doesn't face the street as the BNSF runs a lot on the tracks across the street. Cheaper just about balances out with the minuses.

Not a top notch hotel

My choices were limited and many hotels in the area had no vacancy so I was glad to have a place to stay.  My room was reasonably clean and the front desk attendant was friendly.  The sheets should have been replaced 2 years ago and were threadbare.  It was a bit off putting to be honest because it felt like I was laying directly on the mattress.  I did discuss the sheets with the front desk.  I was told they had been back ordered for several months.  Other hotels I stayed in on this trip all had decent sheets. The A/C worked but for some reason the room felt very stuffy ... almost like the humidity was not being removed.  The breakfast was basically not existent.   I had some coffee and left.  For what was offered I felt that the price was too high.

After 908 miles we were looking for one of the trusty Choice Hotels for a quick stop (gotta save those travel points) Trinidad CO was our first choice but $140 a night for a few hours seemed excessive.  I used the area search on choice and La Junta came up with an Econo for $77.  Checking was quick and easy, hotel is a little dated but you can see the odd improvement, plus it's an Econo Lodge on the scale of hotels.  Room was fairly large with a fridge and small freezer to put the ice packs in, a microwave and the flat screen.  Bathroom was very small compared to the room size, but sink was outside the bathroom so that made some things easier.  All in all comfortable clean, next to a Taco Bell and McDonald's and easy to find. Double points please. ..

Affordable and Clean

Owner was nice and helpful. This was a last minute reservation while passing through.  It was decent for the night stay. Could use some updating and new linens but A/C was cold, beds were comfy and we slept great.

Overnight stay

We had no expectation for luxury at an Econo Lodge.  This one has friendly service by the owner, and it seems well maintained and updated. The room was clean and the be was ok.   No breakfast of any sort is offered during covid.  It served us ok for our overnight stay.

Met Expectations for Econo Lodge

Booked 2 rooms at this hotel on line via Choice website. My rate for each night (2-night stay) was $60.79. Was told that I could only get that rate for one night. They cancelled my reservation for the 2nd night (without my consent), and the manager made another reservation (without my consent) for $75.99. I called Choice Privileges Elite Service Center and was told that they can't change my room rate, that the rate offered on the website is the rate I should pay. We cancelled the reservation that the manager made. Then I made another reservation via Choice website, that again gave me the rate of $60.79. Upon checking out, I find out that they once AGAIN changed my reservation, back to the $75.99!! They ran my credit card before I was given the rate acceptance sheet to sign (yes, this is backwards, and shady!). I DID NOT sign the rate acceptance form and actually wrote on it "NOT ACCEPTED" for both rooms. I just got off the phone with Choice again. They have filed a complaint with this hotel. They have reimbursed me for the overcharge with reward points. This is UNACCEPTABLE actions that this hotel and its management did. 
I am a Elite Diamond member with Choice, with 77 nights stayed in their hotel chain this year, mounting up over 180,00 reward points since last year. So I am well aware of hotel policies, and this is one hotel that everyone needs to be very weary of!!! 
This was not my first choice of hotels in the area. Holiday Inn Express and The Hampton end were sold out and I was there for work...so I basically didn't have a choice. 
Hotel is what you expect from an Econo Lodge. Needs updating. My room was clean.

Changed my reservation and charged me extra!! Long review, but needed!!

Our room was very small, dated but clean.  The vanity was so small we could ot place more than a toothbrush there.  The front desk was friendly and we had a new refrigerator and HD TV.  We didn't get much sleep as the property is close to the tracks and the trains were running all night long.

Listened to trains all night!

I book the hotel for 5 rooms for my company. The guys came back saying that they got bed bugs there. Our company goes to La Junta twice a year. This will be the last time that we will be staying at Econo Lodge.

BED BUGS!!!!

This lodge was fine for the one night while we were traveling home.  Staff were friendly and service as prompt.  There was a gas grill outside if you wanted to cook.  We did not use this, however.  Breakfast was Ok and enough to get you on the road for another day of driving.
