The staff was excellent and extremely accommodating. The cabins are a bit small compared to other places in Lake George but the staff made sure that we were comfortable and that we had everything that we needed. Excellent place for families and pets. 

Very cozy

We originally planned on camping but figured this would be better as its more like glamping! The cottage we selected had a small fridge with freezer, microwave and at our request was outfitted with a coffee maker when we arrived. The room was clean, with a working window AC unit and a small bathroom; everything we needed. We had a wonderful spot with a grill and fire pit; we made use of both, even when it rained. This is a dog friendly property so it was nice being able to bring our pup along to enjoy the great outdoors. Dan and his family were wonderful at answering all our questions before and during our stay; you could always find someone on property who would be able to help you. We got a chance to chat with Dan a few times and he shared their story of how they came to own and operate The Bear's Den, it was a great story! It made us feel so much better about choosing this location. We plan on staying here again but next time in an efficiency with a built in cook top, didn't realize how much we needed one. You're super close to town but far away from the crowds, everything is within an easy drive. At the bottom of the hill, right across the street, you'll find 2 stores that can provide you with all the basics if you forgot to pack something or just want to grab some wine or a sandwich. It's really a perfect location. Thanks again for a wonderful stay and looking forward to our return. 

Wonderful and everything we needed

I booked a large cabin towards the back of the property which offered privacy and comfort for myself and my group of six people. Our teenage boys loved sleeping in the loft as well. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed to cook and prepare meals. The location was ideal -  just off the main road in the village and just a short ride away.

Labor Day getaway weekend

No screen on the door—at night the bugs that hovers over the lights by the door comes in. 
The floor towards the kitchen is slanted.
The bathroom floor has rotted.
The toilet seat was not installed properly so it comes off from time to time.

Not for me

Very family oriented. We rented a 2 room cabin and everything was Great. The place had 3 full size beds, bathroom, small kitchen with stove and a small fridge. We also had a grill outside with a table. There is also a mini market across the street which is very convenient too. We rented the place for 3 days but we had to cut our vacation short because my mother got sick (from a previous illness). Dan, without me asking, refund us for one day.  Thank You! ... We had a great time and we hope to go back there sometime in the future

Family Oriented place

We liked our cabin at this resort.  We had the big 2 bedroom cabin with a loft that has 2 twin beds. We had 4 adults + 2 kids. It has a full kitchen & a living area.  We wished it had a table to eat at especially for breakfast with the kids.  (Bring a small table if you can & some chairs--you could use lawn chairs)  It does have Central Air which was a huge bonus. The one thing we didn't love is that one bedroom had a sliding glass door off the side.  We didn't feel safe with that in the bedroom as it felt like someone could break in.  The owners are very nice & very accomodating.  They provide the towels, wash cloths & bed linens as it is hotel ready.  The wifi is not good & we didn't get good service on our phone but that's okay, it's a getaway!  It was pretty nice.

Cabin in Lake George

We found the cabins were more than we expected.  We were even upgraded to a larger one due to an early time of arrival and cleaning schedule.  We were warmly greeted and would stay again if plans permit.

Cabins and hospitality

We stayed at this quaint family vacation spot in a cabin right next to other family members offering the ability to go back and forth between both units. The outdoor grills, picnic tables and fire pits were perfect for evening dinners, roasted marshmallows and quiet nights under the stars. The location is just far enough out of town to offer rustic quiet but close enough to jump on the trolley and be in on all the action in minutes. The units offer refrigerators, microwave and hot plate. This is a family owned business and we want to say that Dan and his family were very helpful in providing everything we needed as well as information on local activities. We will be returning and bringing more family with us!

Family Vacation at Bear's Den

I would like to thank Dan and Meg for a wonderful stay over July 4th weekend. Nice clean cabins and pet friendly was the reason we stayed there. Very welcoming and friendly, especially considering how busy it was for them over the holiday weekend. five minutes into Lake George Village. Very helpful with dining and activity recommendations.
