I mean you get what you pay for but, honestly even for the very reasonable price, I would not stay here again. The brook in the back was the only nice part of this motel. I stayed in one of the motel rooms maybe the cabins are better. The beds were so uncomfortable and the room smelled. The room was also very outdated. There is potential here if only some money was spent to make the place better.

Not so great

The management was so accommodating we had plans to stay from Monday until Saturday on our way back from Canada but the 2 day Canada trip was canceled due to the wildfires so I asked the Brook side if we could change our days to Saturday to Saturday and they graciously agreed it was a great place to stay very clean very nice people who work here too would highly recommend it

Amazing little place

This is the first time I've made a completely negative comment. We were used to this beautiful little place. We've been there several times over the last few years but in August 2022 it was definitely the last. When we arrived at the end of the evening, we realized that the owners had changed; there was the wife (Francine the owner) at the reception who was dancing and pressing us to pay for a room. We finally got paid because he was in front and we were traveling with a child. We coughed all night and when we woke up the next morning we realized that he wanted a lot of insects in the air, in the stack, in the carpet, rather than on vacation, in the room, and he said, Well, we've been going to the hotel for a long time, but we've been in the same situation for a long time!

It's awful.

Very nasty mouse droppings everywhere my 6 year old couldn’t sleep because he seen a mouse eating his marshmallows after I spoke to the staff he offered me half of my refund which it should of been the whole amount due to it being their problem!!! Had to find another hotel for my family of 6 we checked out and right after we left the staff already had someone in the same rooms as we were in in less then a hour how did u clean that room so fast and get rid of the mice WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Bad quality

Worst hotel I ever stayed at!!

I’ve read some poor reviews and I’m not sure why. I had a great experience and the Staff was friendly. The grounds are maintained along with the pool. My room was clean, bathroom was just remodeled and no they don’t leave shampoo but do you really not bring any?! Sorry that was just one of the comments in a review. Yes there were bugs but they were the ones you expect to see when you stay out in the woods like spiders and mosquitoes. They can use a paint job for porch on cabins n some cosmetic stuff but I believe they are remodeling and just haven’t finished yet. It takes time so don’t judge.

Glad we stayed here

My wife and I stayed three nights at this motel.  Our cabin was basic, but very clean, and housekeeping showed up every day, which is unusual these days.  We had trouble figuring out the shower (temperature control appeared to have been installed backward) and the TV; the desk manager came IMMEDIATELY to investigate and explain it to us, with no complaint whatsoever.  I enjoyed relaxing by the pool and watching families with children playing, but be warned that "solar heated" appears to mean unheated; the water was very chilly.

Location was excellent for driving around the area, very close to I-87.  Not as good for accessing the lake, but we knew that going in.  As far as walking to the village, only for the young and very ambitious.  

My only real complaint about this motel was the wi-fi in our cabin; it was very weak and frequently went out completely.  By the third night, I'd completely given up using it.  If I'd been on a working vacation, I'd have been in a lot of trouble.

Basic but very clean cabin

They sent us a message 48 hours in advance to inform us that the booking was cancelled on our request. Which is completely false. We contact them by phone, they tell us that they canceled our booking because they can't reach us by phone... They're on the spot, 48 hours later, it's another speech, they're still lying to us saying that it's our card that doesn't work. Which is still false. They offer us a wholesale room whereas we've booked a cabin, we suspect that they've offered our cabin to someone else because that last person is unavailable.

Poor service

We used to frequent this motel yearly pre COVID. We had an event in the area and decided to return to this motel.  First, the owners are new to me. I love that they added the porch to the back of the motel rooms overlooking the brook. Super cute! 

Everyone working there was pleasant and accommodating.  Room was clean, pool was clean, grounds were clean. 

You can easily walk into the village from this location. They even have a trolley stop across the street. 

I would recommend this motel.

Repeat customer

Stayed 3 nights instead of 4, left early due to foul odor in our cabin. Stay was paid through 8/29 Pool was nice, “Brookview cabin” was truly located next to a brook. The rushing water helped to mask the sound of the highway. There are two grills and a kitchen available for everyone to use. Guests do not keep the kitchen or grills clean. We purchased Lysol wipes, utensils and aluminum foil for the grill. AC unit was dirty, we requested the housekeeping staff clean it; they did. Room remained smelly and the odor increased over the course of our stay. Manager was very angry when we checked out early, did not offer to adjust the cost of stay for the odor. We suggested they air out the cabin, check under it before more guests check in. Website states no adjusts/refunds so we didn’t even ask. We were hopeful they would offer due to the smell, it was a really offensive odor. Decay. 

Manager asked why I was checking out early despite prepaying through the next day; I told them the room had an overwhelming odor. She accused us of leaving due to the rain. We had been enjoying local restaurants, mini-golf and shopping- even with the rain. She said the cabin might smell strongly because of the rain. It was a smell or decay/rot. 

Room cost $705.96 for 4 nights, we paid extra to upgrade to a cabin for privacy/quiet to be away from the highway.

Just an ok stay, 50/50 ok/bad odor

Stayed two nights in a cabin in the back across the bridge, and came back a couple days later after visiting North Pole,  and stayed in a motel room, and both were great experiences! The place is very well kept and impeccably clean inside and out, so I can't understand a couple of the other reviews! Traveled with the grandkids and the they loved the pool and playground. Motel room and bathroom were bigger than in the cabin, and had a back door to a yard on the brook. Cabin seemed a bit more private out back; again, both were nice. It was a little out of walking distance for us to the main strip but, on the other hand, quiet and no commotion. Would stay there again!
