We had a great experience at the American Inn. Clean room with refrigerator, hot shower, very spacious and  great location for a foliage trip to the Berkshires. Dinesh the owner a true gentleman!

We booked a suite CLEAN, spacious, refrig ,stove, dishes, microwave. All that we needed. It is across the street from the State Police which makes you feel super safe. I highly recommend. Great owner!

This motel was wonderful

The Inn was a confusing to find, the sign in front was under Rodeway Inn. The hotel was conveniently located near restaurants, hiking, and fishing areas. The room was clean, but the bathroom vent was very rusty, the towels had little stains on them, a noisy fridge, and the beds were hard. Overall, a nice budget place to stay for a night with very gracious owners.

Good Value

We were very happy with the accommodations and the welcoming owner.  Very clean,, updated room.  Would definitely return here for our next stay in the area.  Great value.  Convenient to all area attractions.

Excellent value

I traveled to Lee for an overnight with Family ( husband, 11 yr old and Mom). We were all surprised how much improvement has occurred in this place since it is under new ownership. Room was spotless, heat was great and check-in was a breeze. Best of all was the new owners-Dinesh & Veena! What wonderful folks! We will definitely be repeat visitors.

Surprise gem of a place!

This place has all the requirements: Clean and comfortable rooms, very nice bedding, and high volume hot showers. The owners are very gracious and accommodating. We have stayed here before and we will stay here again.

Very nice

What a delight to find this inexpensive, comfortable place to stay when we found ourselves unexpectedly stopping in Lee due to bad weather.  The hospitality was the best.  The room was very clean, the beds comfortable and the pillows soft.  To get this kind of value at the rate we paid is unusual, in my experience.   Although we did not have the opportunity to use it, I was interested to see the extensive kitchen.  We will definitely return. 

Great value and superb Hospitality

This place has new ownership and we seemed to be be there shortly after it changed hands. The new managers were anxious to please, and the rooms although shopworn and old-style, were clean and had all the basics. The mattress was comfortable, there were a variety of pillows on the bed, the shower water was hot and plentiful. Small Fridge & microwave in the room. We didn't use the offered 'continental breakfast' but coffee, cereals, and make-your-own waffles were available in the tiny office area. Staying here, we had plenty of $ leftover to get a big sit-down breakfast in a local restaurant.  Old-style motel where you have your own door to the outside and can park your car right in front of your room. Pro tip for older motels: bring a couple of extension cords with multiple plugs to create more convenient plug-in places for devices, as there are typically not a lot of outlets in  the older rooms. Great Value!

Budget -friendly basic lodging

As of late August 2019, the motel has new ownership and management dedicated to making various upgrades. The hotel is in a very convenient location, just a mile or so north of the center of historic Lee and about half a mile from the lakeside restaurants on Lake Laurel. There is a wooded area behind the motel and from the pool, there is a pleasant view of the hills. The new owners were having the pool repaired so it was not open during our visit. 

We stayed for two nights and would have stayed longer if we had been able to adjust some of our other plans. The manager did say we were welcome to do a late check-out.

This motel is modest but comfortable. In fact, the beds are very comfortable. I particularly liked that the manager was very receptive to my suggestions, for instance, that they discontinue the use of styrofoam plates at breakfast. They plan to do new landscaping, upgrade the decor, and make other improvements.

All in all, this was an excellent choice for our budget and other requirements and I am looking forward to returning.

Notes: wall unit A/C, waffle maker at breakfast, small table and chairs for eating outside your room with a view of the hills, fridge and microwave in the room, flat-screen TV with cable channels, good Wifi.

Amazing value; wonderful view; clean, modest rooms; friendly, accommodating new management

Sometimes you get what you pay for and that was the case here.  When we checked in, the lady tried to charge us again for a room the we had already paid for online. Hopefully that was fixed but I'll check my credit card to be sure.
The room itself smelled of heavy duty cleaners and dust.  After we checked in, we opened every window that we could to air the place out.  That helped some. The window sills were filled with dead bugs.
They did offer a free breakfast but we decided to find a restaurant instead.
