Not enough activities.  The LODGE is an empty place not a soul during my 4 nights/5 days  I give a 2.5 stars.  Just not enough to do inside the preserve.  So sorry to give this place a 2.5 stars.  Good luck to the next travelers


Nothing To Do

Park in very bad shape. If 3/4 of the park was closed? Why would the part of the park that is opened need attention? Clean the park, bathroom that was opened, lodge was dirty, So uncalled for. First time I have ever left a park in two years over the quality of the park.

Ponderosa

The site was a mess from the previous campers, and the facilities were dirty and old. I am not a particular camper...this was beyond.The site was too uneven to get the rig level even using all the levelling blocks.

Rundown and dirty

This is an awesome place to go but extremely hard to book. About 70% of the trailers here are permanent trailers that nobody uses. You can find them for rent on Airbnb. So you’re better off booking someone else’s trailer to stay here than you are to reserve your own site. They only have 3-4 open sites for thousand trails members. Thousand trails has been trying to get the manager to remove the permanent trailers but they keep screwing the system to let them stay. 

Nearly impossible to get into

Awesome place. River was way high and fast so no fishing yet. Pool was great! We stayed in a cabin. Very nice but beds were a little uncomfortable.  Bring foam pads if you can. Otherwise everything was perfect!  

Great place to visit!

Ponderosa RV Resort is our favorite location due to how well it is maintained and how friendly the staff is.  This was our first cabin stay at this location and was the cleanest well maintained cabin we’ve stayed in so far.  Thank you for a great week!

Cabin stay

We took our new Imagine Travel trailer and found a cozy spot. It wasn’t terribly busy which we liked. Beautiful scenery. Friendly staff and just an all around good experience. We look forward to returning someday, probably when the weather is a little warmer. 

Thanksgiving Campers

We always like our stay at the Ponderosa.  However, after months of being completely closed down because of a blown transformer we found that many sites throughout the campground had bags over the electrical outlets.  At least some of those bagged outlets seemed to have stable power; so, not sure why they were bagged so they couldn’t be used.

Nice Place to Stay

Be aware that there are no sewer hookups and no free wifi.  Also, as a first come first serve campsite, you will likely not get the nice sites by the river, and the rest are very close together.  Unfortunately, half the campground was out of service due to an electrical outage, but I would recommend the E loop when it is available again - good size spaces and trees!

RV camping

Staff are friendly; 
Although, we noticed an old guy hovering around on his golf buggy who seemed to be snooping around people who use the beaches and pathways.  His stare and actions made us feel uncomfortable; This  happened during our walk on several instances during our two-week stay.
