No breakfast at all coffee was really weak. I would never pick this one again. Staff was friendly. Rooms could of been a little cleaner. Got up in morning want down to eat no signs no breakfast a few people argued with Staff about there being nothing there but the everyday signs that said hot breakfast in the morning

Don't pick this one

Very clean and comfortable. Easy access right off interstate 57 in IL. Checking in and checking out was very quick. Restaurants and fast food establishments in very close proximity along with gas stations. 

HoJos

Hope you like warm pineapple juice served in a paper bag. That was our breakfast option, along with a soggy bun and a energy bar. Oh yeah, no water in the shower? That was a bonus. All this for only $100 bucks a night.

No water? Not possible.

The hotel was dirty, loud, and did not have a coffee maker in the room as advertised.  The breakfast was also not as advertised; just some items that appeared to have been bought at a gas station placed in individual paper lunch bags.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

Not as Advertised

This property should not bear the Wyndham name. Its awful. Dirty, lacking upkeep, not and overall run down. Rooms were stuffy and stinky. I purposely left some debris on the floor so they would have to vacuum. It's terrible. 

Disgusting

Clean hotel, no secure WiFi, no complimentary breakfast due to covid, no elevator-you can get a good workout on the stairs to the second floor. Staff friendly and readily available. Rooms are non-smoking but you can smell smoke from bygone years when folks were allowed to smoke in the rooms

It was okay

The stay was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I should have known from the moment I pulled into the parking lot, as there were just 2 cars parked. The lobby smelled just of pure humidity, and it was unbearably hot. The partitions at the counter for Covid protection were pieces of acrylic taped together. There was one bottle of hand sanitizer in the lobby, and the room was in such condition, that I had to use my own sanitation towelettes to wipe every surface and handle in it.
 The hotel does not have an elevator and if you have luggage, you must carry it up the stairs that don't even have a midway landing. The room was hot, as the old unit was turned off. It took several hours for the room to get to a comfortable temperature. The shower bar was barely hanging from the wall and because of it, the curtain kept sliding open while showering. I picked up the phone to call the front desk, and it looked like it had not been cleaned in ages. All in all, it looked like an attraction at Universal Halloween Horror Nights. The place; if demolished, will make a good spot for a decent hotel.
I have business in the area for the next couple of months but will not be staying at this property ever again. I have always stayed at Wyndham hotels, and this is the first time that I'm left completely disappointed by the experience.

What a nightmare!!!

I stayed at this hotel twice.  The second time was due to sellout by most other local hotels.  It is a 2-floor hotel with no elevator.  On the first stay the mattress was overly hard.  The second room had a soft mattress.  There is no computer desk in the room. There is minimal furniture in the room.  The housekeeper did not service the room between days.  There is no bathroom fan, no microwave, no refrigerator, and no breakfast service.  The front desk service was good.  I would only stay at this hotel again if I could not find another local hotel.

Below Average Hotel

Front desk very unfriendly. No coffee pots in the rooms. One of the only hotels still not serving breakfast or have the pool open. We only stayed there because the other hotels were full. We will make any future reservations early to avoid staying there again.

Weird place

I need to stay in Manteno again and I realized I never gave a review of the last time I stayed at this Howard Johnson. This is one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in decades. 

This hotel is dirty. Physically you can see dirt everywhere you look. The lobby looks like they just cover broken tiles, chipped paint, and whatever problems with dusty fake plants. The hallways hadn't been cleaned.. you could literally SEE dust and dirt and litter across the carpeting. Like they hadn't even bothered to use a vacuum in months.

I was kind of afraid to sleep in the bed but at least I couldn't see any signs of bed bugs. That was the one positive to this place... I couldn't physically see any signs of bed bugs. 

I will never stay here again and for my next visit will use the OTHER hotel in Manteno.
