Check in was easy but I can see why other reviewers felt a bit unsafe.  The best thing about this place was that our rooms were clean. Other than that everything you saw, both inside and out, needed either upgraded or repaired.  The breakfast area had broken machines.  There are several signs telling you what is not allowed.  They stopped the breakfast 30 minutes before the posted time.  We ended up moving to a different hotel after just one night.  My advice is to stay somewhere else.

Go Elsewhere 

The town of Mayfield, Kentucky is still recovering from a Dec 2021 tornado hit. Then the Wingfield Inn lost its sign to yet another tornado. Don't be put off by the storm-damaged sign. The hotel is clean and friendly and putting itself back together. Breakfast was filling and the price was right. Nice place.

Clean, Friendly, Reasonable $

We made a quick trip to visit a family member who lives near Clinton.  This place was hopping with a lot of people checking in and out.   Michelle, manager was great with getting us the very last room that day.  Whew, we really needed that, every other hotel was a lot further away from where we needed to be. This wasn't the last time that I was impressed with her and her hardworking ethic.  All I had to do was watch her to see that and how welcoming and kind she was with others.  The rooms were clean and in good condition.  Pretty good for a hotel that was in an area still recovering from the second tornado that went through in March. Overall, we were very satisfied.

A good place to stay & Michelle made it even better

The staff was awesome they went above and beyond for us.  Rooms were clean.  Our whole family was there for a funeral and they checked us in early, they put our rooms next to each other as requested. 

Great service

It is an older hotel and needs some upkeep, but it is worth the price but that's about it. The staff is good and helpful, and they go out of their way to make your stay a good one. Breakfast is not much but like I said it is an older hotel so don't expect much. Just basic accommodations it's okay that's about it.

Okay, just okay place to stay

This is a 2-story motel with a nice large lobby by front desk.  It has an outdoor swimming pool and breakfast is included.
We had a standard room with a king bed, 2 bed-side tables, 4 lamps, leather chair, desk and chair, plenty of outlets by bed for charging phones and computers, wide screen tv, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, luggage rack, iron and board, and closet.  Our room was a non-smoking room but it smelled like smoke.
Breakfast included instant oatmeal, cold cereal and milk, bananas, and make-your-own waffles, juice, coffee (no tea).

Stopped after a long day driving,, 3 days into a cross country trip.. I should have taken a photo of the jacked up tub drain they have in the room we were assigned. It was like some one drilled a new drain hole, at an angle, and caulked around it, and called it good. The caulk of course fell out, making the bath non-functional as a tub. Along with that the toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall, and there was a brown substance on the wall of the bathroom. Needless to say we left with in 5 minutes of walking in. I'm absolutely appalled that they would rent any room with any one of those issues, let alone 3.

Poorly kept,, dirty.

Enjoy the breakfast every morning. My grandson spilled something on bed asked them to change bedding and only sheets were replaced. Did not change the bedspread. One day room was not even cleaned. Found that unless you left early they would not come clean. Had to ask them to come clean. Our last night there they had a party in the event room and it lasted till midnight the music was so loud. And the people would come out and smoke and they were loud. I think management should has enough said something. Other than that the place is great to stay in. I have stayed multiple times and will again.

Visit

The hotel staff was unimpressive and hotel is far from the 4star reviews. The beds are harder than the floor. Towels were hard and scratch and there were dirty towels laying on the counter on our arrival, hoping they were from the cleaning lady. Check out is 11 but the cleaning lady came opened our door at 8am...luckiky we had the lock set. I'd say spend a little more money for a mattress.

Wooden bed

Years ago this location was the pits. It was purchased and has had a significant but not impressive overall renovation. The pillows and bedding are in poor condition. The Internet is slow. The room is dimly lit. The A/C does blow cold.
