McKinley Park

While the lodge itself was nice, there was only one restaurant, a bit pricey for their menu. Was very disappointed in the areas of security. There were not any locks on the outside doors to the buildings where the rooms were and worse yet there were not any locks on the window in the room. There were not any microwaves nor were there any small refrigerators. The store in the lodge was very limited. However, the River next to the buildings was beautiful, but I didn’t get a room where I was able to enjoy it.  Some of the staff was great while others were just ok.  Denali Park, itself, was amazingly beautiful.

Nice but not up to par

We were there Sept 19 and 20. Bad thing the park was pretty much closed down by then. The staff was great at the cabins but there was limited food choices and you had to ride to princess hotel for meals. When we left we had to sit from 10 am until 4 pm at a cold uncomfortable train station and no place for food or drink all day.  Do not go here after the 1st week of Sept or it will be disappointing for you also. 

Alaska trip

We stayed  at the Lodge for two nights while on a land tour of Alaska. The room was comfortable, quiet, and had a beautiful view of the river. The public spaces were comfortable and decorated nicely. Previous reviews were not favorable but we could not have been happier with the property. Very scenic, safe, and convenient. Our only disappointment was that we didn’t see the moose that apparently frequents the hotel grounds! We enjoyed our stay here very much.

Great hotel right on the river!

We were at Denali Park Village for two nights on a land tour package (bus tour).  The coffee bar touts Starbucks, but only regular coffee, only in one size.  The ice machine in the building is for three buildings. (No refrigerators in the rooms, so you'd better get ice at 2 am or 6 am to get any.)  
The other reviewers are correct. The views are beautiful. The area is stunning. 
It was nice to get to Denali Park, but I wouldn't stay here again.  There are nicer places down the road with more access to stores, restaurants, shuttles.

Beautiful scenery, indifferent staff

Our Denali Park Tour picked us up at this location, so had occasion to spend some time here.  Dinner in the Gold Rush Dining Room following return from our park tour put us into sticker shock! But the food was good, but not memorable.  Now, two weeks later, I cannot remember what we ordered.

Good food, high prices

There are two reasons only that they are getting such a low rating - there was absolutely no air circulation in the room which makes it very stifling; the other reason - their breakfast buffet was overpriced even for Alaska for what was offered.  What they called a Continental breakfast -$25.00 - consisted of stale cake donuts (choice of one variety) and small bagels, no lox or cream cheese.  For the full breakfast -$35.00 - the hot food was cold and the cold food was hot, the bacon wasn't crispy, the eggs were loose and not cooked all the way, the toaster for bread and bagels was abysmally slow and barely toasted.  The dinner buffet was just as bad - $50.00 - again hot food cold and cold food hot, veggies overcooked, prime rib well done no rare to be had at all, and a very limited selection.  I have had far better food at a Golden Corral for 1/10th the price.

What made this more disappointing is it was a Royal Caribbean lodge and the first one on our after cruise Denali tour.  If we ever do go back to Alaska for a third time it will not be through RCL.

Do not stay at this lodge

Let me start by saying that this stay was an extension of our cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line. The room was filthy, dust, hair and the worst part was when my husband pulled down the blanket it was covered in urine. 
The dining options were few and extremely expensive. If you are on a tour, you are trapped at the lodge because there is no where else to go for a meal.If you aren't on a tour, good luck because the place will be mobbed with tour buses. Be ready to be woken up in the early morning hours by tour buses loading passengers right outside your room.
We were so disappointed.

One of the Worst Hotels

I will preface this by saying prior to the land tour I read all the reviews of this place, but wanted to keep an open mind. We were on the last pre-cruise land tour before the end of the season in September. Our tour director warned us that this was going to be pretty rough. I am so glad he warned us. The lodge area is nice, cute gift shop, great bar with pretty good bar food. Our room was in the 100 section. The room was pretty worn, no refrigerator, no microwave. OK I new that going in... I will tell you the positives...great Thai Food Truck across the road from the village. Ate there twice, try the penang curry and drunken noodles. Both were delicious. We did not want to pay $55 per person for the Denali Park Village buffet for dinner. Too expensive! Also, the hamburger place was already shut down for the season. I just wished this place was up to the standards of Celebrity Cruises. By far the worst accommodation on our trip.

Celebrity Cruises 8B Land Tour - 2nd Accommodation Denali Park Village

We stayed here as part of a tour at the beginning of Sept. The Good: the scenery was beautiful, the room was spacious and clean, nice sized updated bathroom. That was about it for the good. The Not Great: paper thin walls, we heard every single noise, if someone walked above us, it sounded like a herd of rhinos running down the hallway. There are zero food options if you don't have a car, besides their buffet which is $55 for bottom of the barrel worse than Golden Corral left overs. The bar has appetizers, but by the time we returned to the hotel after our tours (around 5:00pm), they were out of most of the 4 items on the menu. The bar has limited seating as well, and you cannot sit at the restaurant with bar food (which is understandable). You can walk up a hill and across a highway to the property across from this place to a Thai Food truck for another food option if you like Thai food. Other than that, you have no options. Our guide warned us about this, so we purchased some grocery items beforehand, but there is no fridge or microwave, so we lived on chips and sodas for 2 days essentially, other than the breakfast buffet that was included in our tour.

Just OK

I really don't have much good to say about this hotel except the bed was comfortable and they did have a table fan in the room.
First of all, the hallways and stairs leading to the room were filthy.  Looks like they had not been vacuumed in weeks.  Our room had stained carpets, the clock did not work, there was mold in the shower and it was noisy. 
Limited choices for food..either the restaurants at the hotel or cross the busy road to a food truck.  The Saloon we ate at the hotel was out of 2 of the 4 items on the menu.  Driveway dark at night and muddy.
No one particularly friendly nor helpful.
