O'Connell's RV Campground

This is an amazing campground but the price is way out of hand. We have been camping here for more than 10 yrs and It's always been higher than any other campground anywhere in the US but my kids have always loved camping here. When their price jumped to $135/night, it was time for us to cross this campgound off our list. If you don't mind spending that kind of money to camp, than this is the campground for you. Remember, it's not a Hotel, there is no Continental breakfast, the pool and waterslide is not open in October, but the price is the same as a nice resort that does include all of those things. I really  have nothing bad to say about this campground other than the price. 

Too Expensive to camp here

We've been going to this campground for 15 years.

Good:  Nothing bad changed due to ownership change from Jellystone --> 1000 Trails.  There is lots of room to get around and the staff is very nice and accommodating.  Thank you for another great year for my family and friends.

Bad:  MUST pave or gravel the grassy area where RVs/trailers part, specifically in  sections 35xx, 36xx.  The price is VERY high to just park on grass...which can be very dangerous if there is rain (people will get stuck).   Haunted house waiting line was the worst in +10years...we waited over 2 hrs and we gave up (did not go in).  Check-in was a bit confusing because we checked-in on-line, but we could not go directly to our site and we needed to check in at gate (this was not bad, but just confusing).

Nice but room for improvment

Make sure you request an updated cabin. The updated cabins are way better than the outdated. Our patio furniture was flimsy, mattresses were awful, toilets barely flushed. Overall we had fun, but definitely would not stay in the same outdated cabin again.

Overall Okay

O'Connell's is one of our favorite places to camp.  We come with the whole family with 3-4 campers and all my grandkids there is something for everyone and always friendly.  With the multiple pools it's never to crowded. 

My stay

It needs a lot  TLC all campground area, golf car people drive very fast,   Bathrooms are very dirty, campground for rv dirty, very expensive fir what you are offering, water smell rusty and very nasty,  no one do any maintenance for huge amount of people .   I cannot recommend any body nor come ever again

They need to pay more attention to the bathrooms and the staff should have a better relationship with the client, I couldn't rent a golf cart because they told me that everyone was already rented but in a bad way, but the place is very nice and I like it very much.

The place is very cautious, the only thing I didn't like were the bathrooms that were almost all out of service,

We worked 3 days and never cleaned the bathrooms and the paper was even cleaned for the hands, a real cook would never have been so dirty in the bathrooms, so please be more careful with that as it depends on whether we come back or not.
