As this was our first visit to Duluth, we had no idea how to choose the best location.As it turned out, we loved the location so close to Canal Park, but felt it was a bit overpriced for the amenities offered. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist when we checked in. Our bathroom was quite tiny. The continental breakfast was better than average with waffles, a hard boiled egg and fruit. For a downtown location it was quiet and we slept well and had no issues with the internet. In retrospect, we wish we'd have checked Trip Advisor first before booking since there was a Groupon Deal offered!

Convenient Place to Stay

Was in our budget for a Saturday night in Duluth (still expensive!!!) and it’s an old, used hotel but provided a warm place to sleep when our flight was cancelled. Even though I would not otherwise choose it again (small, dated, peeling wall paper, etc.) I was thankful for a place to sleep. All the cars park right in front of the rooms, so there is quite a bit on congestion and noise. Insulation pretty non existent.

Stayed night of 9/25/19, older hotel but was clean and adequate, reasonable price considering.  Mitch checked us in and was inviting and fun, gave us a good tips on getting around the area and down to waterfront.  Tip on the pillows, if you decompress them from squares  they soften.

Adequate, clean, valu, good breakfast

We stayed here for a hockey tournament during a weekend with lots of other activities going on in the city. I would stay there again if I had to, but not by choice. It was dark and the bathroom was old and in need of a deep clean. The person at check-out was very nice, but seemed to be the only person working, so the wait was long. They were accommodating so that we got two adjoining rooms. That was very helpful. The location was central, although I wouldn't walk around there after dark. I can't quite say it was average for the places I would stay, but everything worked and the bedding was clean. 

Central location

It’s a convenient location, and cheaper than many other options.  The bed was comfortable, and they have breakfast.  Don’t expect any perks, and there’s no “great hospitality”.  When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk, and when a woman did come in 10-15 minutes later, there was no apology or acknowledgement that we had to wait. But the check-in was fast.  We did not get the king sized bed we reserved, and after the smell of disinfectant wore off, the room didn’t smell so good.
But we love Duluth and it wasn’t bad enough to spoil a good trip!

It’s OK

Nothing fancy but clean room within walking distance to downtown and canal area for half the price of other area hotels. Comfortable bed, did not hear much outside noise. Could update some of the furniture. Overall not a bad place to stay for an overnight.

Good value

This Motel has a great location and that is it. There are activities that occur here that you would never want to place yourself in. I believe it to be one of the worst hotels in Duluth. I made the mistake of purchasing this on Groupon with the pictures they posted. Groupon this should not be in the hotels you offer as it is a dirty. 

Worse Experience Ever

The location is excellent, walking distant to Canal Park and downtown. Thee room was clean, the beds comfortable. The staff helpful and friendly. The breakfast area is small, but nice choices for a contentental breakfast.

Duluth Stay

The price was right, but the room was substandard. Old old hotel. Room was clean. Our room had 2 double beds. My adult son said his back hurt in the morning. The pillows were lumpy. No convenient plugins in the bathroom. The hairdryer was plugged in next to the light switch—far away from the mirror. No other plug ins. The closet was tiny with full-size ironing board taking most of the room.  

Checked out after one night

We had a family member go into the hospital unexpectedly and traveled 5 hours to be with her. With the winter storm coming we stayed Sunday night in the hospital lobby instead of traveling to our family in Grand Rapids and decided Monday night we couldn't manage that again. Our 3 and 4 year old children needed somewhere to go and it had to be reasonable. We went with the cheapest possible option as this will be an on going battle and we'll be in Duluth for awhile. We were denied a hospital rate due to the New Year but the price still couldn't be beat. The room however was the most horrid thing we had ever experienced. Light switch doesn't function so all lights have to be manually turned on and off. The odor was overwhelming alone but the condition of the room, furniture, and most of all the bathroom/ shower were unacceptable. Mold everywhere! The front desk was unconcerned with our experience and definitely not surprised. I would avoid this property at all cost. We even avoided the free breakfast we were so overly grossed out.
