This hotel is pretty good for a budget 2-star hotel except it doesn't come at a budget price. 

Room: Small but very clean and has all the basic needs; quiet with the window closed despite being on the main street; good shower. The blankets are thin and too small to cover two people comfortably. My husband and I used the blankets from both beds since our kids bring their own.

Breakfast: Not the best but did the job. Cereal, oatmeal, toast, mini muffins, yogurt, sausage, terrible poached eggs, juice, hot beverages. No decaf coffee so I made mine in our room.

Price: We were there during Blueberry Fest and this was the only hotel left in town so we took it. Normally I would never pay $800 for three nights in a very basic hotel like this. I checked a few random days in the future and this seems to always be higher priced than other similar hotels in town so compare your options before you reserve.

Good budget hotel if you can get a budget price

We had another great stay.  The motel is very clean, comfortable and quiet .  The owners are very friendly and helpful. The flowers outside are beautiful.
We already have reservations for next summer.😀

A Great Place to Stay in Ely.

Grounds and building neat and well maintained.  Only one flight of stairs to carry luggage. Room was spotlessly clean and spacious.  Noticed an odd, unpleasant odor upon opening the door, next to sink and bathroom, not sure if chemical cleaner, carpet glue, other.  A Glade plugin might have helped in that area.  Did not notice as much in the rest of the room.  Comfortable bed and pillows for us.  Microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, table and chairs appreciated.  A small continental breakfast available off lobby, and though we did not partake, nice  to have.  Though no vacancy, it was quiet.  Staff available and attentive, pleasant.   Good location, easily accessed.  Average pricing.  Can walk to Subway or Dairy Queen. Close to International Wolf Center.   Would recommend staying there.

Neat, clean, quiet, comfortable

This is a clean comfortable well maintained motel.   We stay here every  year during  the Blueberry Festival. The owners go out of their way to accommodate your needs.
We already have our reservations for next year.  Thank you for a great stay!

A pleasure to  stay here.

We stayed here overnight and enjoy our stay.The staff is friendly.The room was clean and very comfortable.Room has,tv, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and plenty of towels.Bed was comfortable.We recommend.Right down the street from the Wolf Center.

Very Nice Stay

We recently had to look for a room in Ely for one night and ended up at the Comfort Plus because it looked nice and had a good price.  The man at the desk was very nice and answered all of our questions, and provided recommendations.  The room was very clean and comfortable.  We had come out of the BWCAW and had enough food for another dinner.  We set up our stove on a table outside and prepared that meal.  It worked out great given most of the restaurants were closed.  

Having a large fridge and microwave in the room was a great bonus for us!

No breakfast was served due to Covid-19.

Clean and comfortable at a good price

We enjoyed our stay at Comfort Plus in Ely, MN. The room was very clean and there was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The beds were comfortable. The staff was helpful & friendly. Due to COVID, there was not any breakfast offered, but there is a market nearby where we bought breakfast sandwiches.

Very Clean & Quiet

Traveled to Ely for a fun, fall weekend and stayed at the Comfort Plus motel.  Staff was welcoming and the facility was very clean. Our room was spotless and the beds and pillows were super comfy. It's located close to area attractions, too. We'll be back!

Great stay

There are many places to stay in Ely, but few Branded hotels as most are local hotels or lodges.  THis is the typical Super 8 owned and managed by individuals who live on site.  There is a STRONG smell of Indian food as you enter (does not bother me).

This hotel is ALWAYS clean..... but is becoming outdated.  Furniture is 20 years old.

I paid $100 per night in January as the owner does not believe in low rates during the slow times.  They do not have a corporate of business rate.

Breakfast is minimal at best.

Just what I expected

The owners were great. Binta provided excellent service. Very friendly. The property was in a great location 
The TV offered a lot of channels 
Rooms were clean. Loved the fridge and microwave in the room
